It seemed busier than they were expecting- poor service and washrooms were a mess. Servers had no support
No one to even bring water to the table
Food was good. Oysters were on special and were delicious but served without the fixings or side plates. Carpachia was great!
Salad was ok at best

Warm ambience, friendly and attentive service, delicious food. Went on a Thursday night, 1/2 price charcuterie boards, good selection of wine, make sure you add some cheese - recommend the chefs choice.

My household bubble took in dinner on a chilly spring evening. We were warmly greeted and seated in a location by the window. Our server was friendly and knowledgeable. An 'unusual' but very tasty bread basket started our meal We ordered three different dishes and everyone was quite satisfied with the portions, the presentation (served directly and hot from the kitchen) and the overall pacing of the meal. The makings of the meal all indicated very fresh and local.

We came here for lunch after reading good reviews and their ethos on their website however we left disappointed :(. For starters, we saw the delivery on this day and it wasn't 'local' as displayed, perhaps carrots are hard to come by locally so you have to get Mexican ones but don't put locally sourced on your website.
The service was quick and friendly, but after I mentioned that my starter should have been a main dish I was just given a smile and it was cleared away. I would have left feeling better if at least feedback was taken on board. The food was basic, dense and seemed cheap. I had the liver starter and I was concerned when I was given a spoon. It was so heavy I only ate a quarter of it. My main was the most expensive item - steak. Half the plate was chips, the steak just tasted of a mixed herbs packet mix on it and I couldn't taste the red wine gravy. I left craving vegetables. My partner's meal was marginally better but you couldn't taste the ingredients - why crumb a beautiful 'local?' pickerel, why chuck so much oil on the potatoes? We left feeling like we needed a detox. I'm sure some people love the portion sizes but quality over quantity? The price was way too much for the food served. Pros - The wine was good.

We drove by this restaurant a couple of times and decided we needed to check it out. We are very happy we did.
We were greeted and feted at the front to ensure we were all vaccinated. We were seated and the tables were nicely spaced and blocked with plexiglass. Safety was important.
But our service was great. Meredith was our main server but 4 different people ensured we were well serviced and happy.
And the food was brilliant. Locally sourced as much as possible we started with a delicious Charcuterie Board with accompanying Cheeses. We also enjoyed fresh Oysters, Escargot done on top of a Phyllo pastry, and a Butter Lettuce salad.
our mains included Manitoba Pickerel, Gnocchi and a Flatbread.
the food was fresh and delicious and we left knowing we will return so we can try all the other food on the menu too.

Great find for our first meal in Winnipeg!
We were greeted by friendly and helpful staff and seated inside in an airy and comfortable and cheerful setting. The crescent shaped bench where we were seated was very comfortable.
They had an extensive choice of wine and the draft beer I had was flavorful, limey and pleasant tasting.
We were a bit on the early side for dinner but service was quick. Whilst the menu was not extensive, the choices were diverse.
The charcuterie board was absolutely divine! Duck breast, pate, chicken liver mouse and a selection of sausages with pickled wax beans and pickles.
The fresh oysters were enjoyable as was the pickerel fillets with new potatoes and veg. Definitely a cut above the normal with exotic flavors and food cooked to perfection.
Prices were reasonable, especially for the quality of food. A must try.

Great atmosphere and nestled into the trendy market area of Winnipeg. I feel the food was back to the basics great food and well prepared. ended off nicely with desserts. Parking was a little tricky but its such an interesting area, a small stroll to the restaurant is worth it.

We went out for birthday supper and were disappointed with the experience. Service of appetizers & food took a long time. Found bones in the Smoked Rabbit Pappardelle Pasta which was, not only a choking hazard but a turn-off from enjoying the rest of the meal (received a discount for this). Tourtiere was good but a bit too much of all-spice/cloves. Burger was good. Beet salad was ok - chicken added on tasted weird. Drinks are super expensive ($12 each).

The place is very cozy. Nicely decorated, and a very welcoming place. Despite menu options doesn't include many variations, but each option is minded and delicious. Busy place in the middle of the town, but you can easily find a parking spot. I like the atmosphere of the restaurant and its services.

We went on a Sunday evening and the place was busy but not packed. Great menu and had a hard time only picking one dinner. I chose the Lamb and it was delicious! The roasted vegetables were also a great selection with various potatoes and beets. The service was also at a great pace. Overall I would highly recommend this resteraunt.

Went to this place for the first time and was excited. But unfortunately, probably won't go back. We were seated promptly for our reservation. But then we probably waited a good 7 to 8 minutes for the waitress to come and take our drink order, we were actually going to leave if waiting much longer. Once she took our drink order it was a long wait again, I order a scotch neat and it came on the rocks. I explained I ordered neat and mentioned no ice, the server blamed it on the bar. It was the last ounce they had of that bottle so I decided to drink it. Server then took forever to come back and take order. Got our starter which was good. But in the mean time we are sitting their with empty drinks , so we have to flag down the server. 2nd drinks take forever to come by that time we received our main and were almost done by the time drinks came. I ordered a MaCallan 12 year, I was shocked because it tasted so off-putting to what I expected, seemed like a peated scotch. When getting the bill the server says for your second scotch you'll see it listed as Laphroeg but I swear you got what you ordered, I knew right there they messed it up. My partner gnocci , it was loaded with grease / oil to the point it made her feel sick. Sure enough she threw up it was so off putting. Not a good experience service was horrible, they screwed up my drink order twice. My food was good, did not match the price though. Very disappointed overall $159 for two people with tip and left very disappointed, not good value for the money.

Got there before 5 p.m. for late lunch/early dinner and dining room was booked so we grabbed table in bar (same menu). Cauliflower soup and gnocchi were great. In fact, gnocchi was probably the best ever -- literally melted in mouth. Service was great. I would eat here again.

It used to be my favourite restaurant in the city, but the menu has changed to become larger, more mainstream (perhaps to respond to the King’s Head crowd). It’s nit as good as it used to be and the bar drinks were really barely drinkable. Quality has noticeably decreased.

Promising out of town visitors a dining delight, I took them to Peasant Cookery. They were not disappointed. The atmosphere and service were top quality and the food was thoroughly enjoyed. All ingredients were fresh and tasty. We went on "buck a shuck" night and enjoyed oysters as well. The service was particulary good - Carly is exceptional and made our evening that much more enjoyable.

I used to visit here regularly but hadn't been in a few years. I was not disappointed.
The specialty here has always been rustic French food, both European and French Canadian. On my recent visit, my wife ordered the tourtiere, one of her favourite dishes. She said it was the best she had ever had, and I agree. I ordered Chicken Paillard, and while it's a very simple simple dish of chicken and vegetables, I was blown away by the mastery of the cook on the chicken and how much flavour the dish delivered. Portions were generous and prices very reasonable for the quality.
If you visit, don't skip on the cocktails, which are always solid. And if you're just going for appetizers or a light meal, the poutine is also top-notch.
