We are obsessed with this place! We have eaten here at least seven times, while staying in tulum for 15 days. This is simply the best, freshest, most wonderful, and wonderfully affordable seafood restaurant in the world. My favorite two dishes are tostada de atún,...and taco with octopus and fried cheese, heavenly. Fish fingers for kids are fabulous!!!! Amazing, stupendous, love it!!!!More

Highly recommended! Amazing dinner for our family of 4 here with delicious fresh seafood, great service and fun people watching. Best seafood we had in a week in Tulum. We had the ceviche, aguachile, torres and tostadas...and all were a hit. Plus a wide variety...of sauces (mild to hot) to add flavor. Delicious and fresh seafood! Had the shrimp tacos, oyster taco, and tamarind mojito. All of them were amazing. They had many sauces to choose from and gave tortilla chips with the sauces to try as an appetizer, all were great and the habañero one was...especially tasty. They also had a great upstairs patio and it was only a short wait without a reservation. Would definitely recommend!More

We arrived late in Tulum and just picked this resto randomly because of the seafood menu. We glad we did because we had the best food we have eaten in Mexico. We came here 2 nights in a row.

Out BnB host recommenced this place. She told us it was not as fancy from the looks, it better tasting food at a reasonable price. It did not disappoint! We had the mackerel buritto and fried mackerel tacos. They make 7 different homemade sauces of...various level of heart starting with mango & lime going to habanero that are the perfect finish for any individual.More

Tulum restaurants seem expensive so we were looking for something tasty & good value, and yes, we found that! Nice airy upstairs location with friendly staff & lovely fresh fish & seafood. Live music, even for a late lunch. The marlin tacos & burritos were...excellent. We didn’t have the larger main dishes but they looked amazing! Can recommend 😊More

Sabor de Mar is a hidden gem in Tulum Centro, situated just few blocks from the main street. Service is excellent and food so delicious! I recommend this 100 %.

The food here was SO GOOD. Me and my friends both ordered tacos and they were to-die-for. Also drinks were tasty, and everything was very reasonably priced. Will definitely eat here again before leving Tulum!

Best seafood ever! Quality and attention was superior! Be sure to visit whenever visiting Tulum! The size of the tacos is large, take that into consideration, the “taco gobernador” is exceptional!

I visited Sabor Del Mar on Saturday, 1/29 for dinner around 7PM. I was alone and had heard about Sabor Del Mar from Eater. I arrived at the entrance on the lower level and exchanged greetings in Spanish with the host, a man. No one...told me that there was seating upstairs, so I sat at one of the tables on street level. I wish that they had told me because I don't think that they liked that I was sitting near the kitchen, as they were celebrating a birthday for one of the female employees. Trying to be friendly, I asked "Whose birthday?" in Spanish. They all laughed, and finally the girl said it was her birthday. She seemed very uncomfortable with me, not out of shyness but in a mean way. I wished her felicidades in Spanish trying to be nice. I ordered a kombucha and one of the mariscos. Both my drink and the food took forever even though I was the only guest at the time, probably because the entire staff was sitting at a table by me eating cake. I would not have minded if I didn't overhear what they were saying in the kitchen. I understand some Spanish and overheard them laughing saying that "Enjoy your party at work with us - and the homo!" followed by laughter. I was so bothered by this homophobic comment that I almost left immediately before my food even arrived. However I stayed and continued to try to be nice though no one in the staff seemed very interested in being kind to me. I paid in cash pesos and left telling them that I didn't know about upstairs. No one apologized for not telling me or for the hateful comment that they made in the kitchen. I'm not surprised that homophobia exists in Tulum but was shocked that they would be so loud and disrespectful at a restaurant where I was their customer. I felt UNWELCOME and it honestly ruined my night and almost my entire trip. I would hope that the staff is reprimanded for being so rude and disrespectful to me when all I was trying to do was enjoy a nice meal and even wish well to the birthday girl. I'm only giving 2 stars instead of 1 star because the food was delicious despite the terrible customer service.More
