We were staying across the street, so it was very easy to walk across to eat dinner. Service is prompt and not obtrusive. A varied menu to choose from. Well-made libations. Top your meal off with the key lime pie; or just walk next door...to the small key lime pie store and buy one yourself.More

We had a wonderful meal and excellent service. I am gluten free due to an allergy and was able to easily communicate with wait staff. We had the lobster, which is served with white rice and vegetables. Excellent!!! Kevin was an exceptional server.

Before I start, I just want to be clear I am talking about the Original Lobster House. With two lobster restaurants near to each other (and a key lime pie and burger joint restaurant in-between), I am reviewing the restaurant on the right. After a...fabulous 10 days on the island of Cozumel we capped off our experience by dining at the Original Lobster Bar. Right across the street from our hotel at the Marriott Cozumel and away from the hustle of downtown, it was the second time we’ve dined here, enjoying a great meal there last year. The second time didn’t disappoint. The atmosphere at the Original Lobster Bar is wonderful with a jungle-like theme that even has a small goose pond. Lobster is their specialty, and I ordered surf and turf while my wife ordered the shrimp fettuccine alfredo, both preceded by tasty salads, a caesar – perfectly dressed and fresh lobster salad respectively. My lobster was tender and the filet mignon perfectly cooked and delicious. The wait staff were also top notch. Three young men, Jimmy, Jose, and Kevin were knowledgeable, efficient, professional, courteous, and kind. To top it all off an aspiring jazz saxophone musician named Mario serenated us all through dinner by expertly playing one great jazz classic after another including Sinatra renditions. Mario recently graduated from Music School, and man, his expertise in hitting the notes really showed. That young man is going places! All and all, and for the second time, we had a great experience at the Original Lobster Bar, we recommend it to anyone and will return there on a future visit.More

We just go there to enjoy the lobster and we just can’t have enough, this is one of our favorite places to visit in Cozumel, by the way their key lime pie is incredible, if you have space after you devour the lobster.

Overcooked lobster and overpriced. The set up of the restaurant is very cute but be ready to get eaten by bugs while choking on incense smoke (bug repellent and not that effective). The menu looked amazing and it was such a disappointment to get an...over cooked chewy lobster. Would not recommendMore

Kinda confusing but there is 2 lobster places right next to each other (only thing separating them is a burger place) The Lobster house and the Original Lobster house. We ate at the Original and the food was amazing! It’s a little pricey but big...portions, great food and wonderful service. Atmosphere was nice but the mosquitos start biting around 7pm so put on bug spray. Would highly recommend if you want a nice meal away from your resort!More

We are intentional about supporting local communities when we travel. This family run restaurant did not meet our expectations. Pros: family run; friendly servers; can play chess and billiards while waiting; drinks and appetizers were great Cons: main courses were big disappointment especially the signature...lobster tails (steamed and bland), the server did warn us that the kitchen was under staffed.More

Excellence in a word. From the service , the ambiance to the food absolutely created and served with love and the experience of nearly 40 years that’s shows in every aspect and detail. We will be back, as it is a must in Cozumel!

Incredible lobster tail. This restaurant had a very nice incense smell accompanied by a nice jazz player. I’d recommend trying the other lobster house 2 doors down and comparing them. We loved them both!

Absolutely phenomenal vibe!! The restaurant's ambiance is amazing. Low lit lights throughout and you feel like you're walking through a treehouse. Running water, thatch roofs, open windows, small pathways to walk, billiards table, sweet chess set next to a lounge area, etc... The staff were...very friendly and made the ordering process very easy. We all picked out our own lobster tails and the price is by weight. Each plate comes with vegetables and rice which were just as good as the lobster. I finished the meal off with a wonderful Key Lime pie. Yum!! Would definitely visit again. Bring your $$ because you will want to spare no expense here.More

Worst meal and service I have ever experienced in Cozumel. In my opinion, the only reason this restaurant is in business is because of the tourist industry and it is across from the Westin. We rely heavily on TripAdvisor reviews, and how this restaurant is..."highly rated" is beyond comprehension. There was absolutely nothing good with our visit and will NEVER go back. And to top it off, at the end of dinner, the waiter brought out our "check" on a piece of paper with the total. No receipt provided! There are so many wonderful restaurants in Cozumel, this is NOT one of them.More
