It’s got to be about the food, experience and the service and this place is all that! Food is just so delicious and the service is so attentive. We ordered the pork tacos, beef tongue, beet salad and rib-eye. They were all phenomenal! The home...made fresh salsa is next level and it’s full of flavor! If you are in MC, do not miss this gem of a place! P.S the restaurant manager, Victor, is the best! Thank you for this incredible experience. We can not wait to be back!More

We were excited to try this restaurant since we'd heard so much good stuff about food in Oaxaca. The food here is not entirely traditional, it's more like Oaxacan food with a modern twist. The restaurant was pretty empty, on a rainy night. We had...made reservations and were seated promptly. We started off with a couple of mezcalitas which were absolutely delicious and in my opinion much better than traditional margaritas. We decided to go for the Oaxacan appetizer board. At the recommendation of our server we got half a board for three people and it was plenty of food! The items on the board were ok but there was definitely too much cheese. The chapulines were a nice crunchy addition. We also got the duck tamales which were too dry and dense, as well as a chicken entree with mole which was delicious. We got to try a pretty good Mexican red wine and for dessert we had the chocolate cake which was great. Service was very attentive.More

I wanted to to Polanco and have a good meal and the reviews led me to Guzina Oaxaca Really nice ambience and staff. I had the sopa de jitomate and pollo con mole along with a margarita. Presentation was key and all the staff made...it a point to see that I was taken care of. The sopa de jitomate was delicious with its combination of flavors. It was not cheap - about 500 pesos for one but definitely worth it. Polanco looks like Beverly Hills and has a very different vibe than other colonias.More

Casual and relatively quiet restaurant with (surprise) Oaxaca style foods. Salsa mixed fresh at table to requested mild to hot. Everything is beautifully plated…outa a magazine! Romaine palm salad….way tasty. Grilled octopus: largest piece of octopus I’ve ever seen. Grilled perfectly with just enough chew....Pulpo I dream about. Smushed potatoes seemed to have a slightly sweet taste that matched the octopus. Strawberries and cream was good but not near as good as salad and entree. This restaurant should have a line out the door.More

We had lunch there three times at the end of June. We ordered each time different items and could not decide which was the best. All were superbly prepared and presented at table. Take into account that it is a oaxacan restaurant and all dishes...are from that region. Service was very friendly and prices very reasonable . All ingredients were fresh and best quality. Highly reccomended as a specialty restaurant.More

Food is delicious. The place is small but nice and good ambience. Service can improve though. Overall experience was distinguished and recommendable.

My only regret was that I only had 1 night in Mexico City and would have enjoyed several more visits to the restaurant. Starting with a Mezcal cocktail, to the table-side salsa made from scratch to the Tamales - this was the gold standard of...Cocina Oaxaquena. Perfectly spiced, bursting with flavour this was a truly outstanding meal.More

This place gets top marks for a thoroughly charming experience and great food. First we loved the people - the man who greeted us with such elegant manners, the young man who made a wonderfully fresh salsa before our very eyes, and a sweet lady...who made us delicious quesadillas filled with tasty things we had never eaten before, like a fungus that grows in an ear of corn and squash flowers. This small restaurant is located in a quiet tree-lined neighborhood near the Anthropological Museum. Do not miss it!More

As others have said, this was our favorite restaurant in Mexico City. From mezcal-fuel cocktails (mine came in a decanter shaped like a miniature motor oil bottle) to fresh tortillas to appetizers featuring tacquitos and cheese and bean puffs with one mole sauce, to fish...and octopus mains with different moles, all was wonderful. Service was friendly, efficient, and multi-lingual. Not to be missed.More

I ate a lot of great food in Mexico city ... but this was my favorite restaurant. The Ceviche de Pescado was stunningly good! The mezcal martini was unusual and yummy. To start the meal, they grind your salsa fresh (to your taste) table side....My entrée was also very, very tasty.More
