Thank God for this great restaurant, it saves my life!!! Jimmy aka Wolfgang is owner and German chef, he makes the best Ribeye Steaks!! I need to go there 2 times a month for his great Steak, Schnitzel or other food. Call him and let him know how thick of a steak you want so he has time to cut and thaw for a perfectly cooked steak. Jimmy and Ness his wife are very nice people.
Unfortunately no beer or Frenchfries.

Besides the usual sausages and sandwiches expected in a German eating place, expect rice and salads too. Enjoyed the Doritos salad which was almost like coleslaw but heavy on coriander fresh from the restaurant’s backyard and Doritos chips on the side. That salad was a winner. The marinated pork tenderloin, almost paper-thin, was herb crusted and tasty. The desserts were great too: cinnamon pili cookies, calamansi cheesecake and lava cake all served in small portions that 2-3 people could share. The spicy Mayon mocha hot drink had a bigger kick than Jacques Torres’ Wicked Chocolate drink. Yum! Ambiance: nothing better than being surrounded with arts and crafts made by the owners. Finally, the bathroom is a must-see. You have to visit to enjoy it!

CAFE MOLAVE AND SOUVENIRS
This place don’t welcome comments, and suggestions. Thats why we decided to never go back to CAFE MOLAVE. Jimmy the Chef and owner tends to be rude to customers who complain about their food! I can tell coz we often dine there with family and or friends frequently ordering the same cannelloni! Implicating me as a liar for my comment, well, if you cannot accept it , as you rudely and repeatedly blurted out in the presence of other customers , “ i dont believe you! I cannot accept it” were your words mr Jimmy! Well i cannot accept your claim either that your cannelloni was in its usual quality when the taste does not say so! My complain was calm where only your staff can hear. How dare you criticize my taste? we did not eat for free!! were you scared i might ask for a refund? You should have taken my comment to be constructive for improvement, not scold customers for their feedback. Well.. because of your rudeness Mr. Jimmy Gersbach you just lost customers from tabaco. I brought people to your restaurant and have been regular customers from Gasthof, wilkomen and now Molave, but you did not appreciate it.
YOU ARE RUDE!!
You dont keep good relationship with your customers coz you do not remember faces and do not recognize people who regularly visit your place. Next time, if someone complain about their order take it lightly and check before u storm out to your customer in rude manner. Customers helps ur business succeed not ruin it, Maybe it will be YOU to hurt your own business Filipinos love good food and we have good taste, perhaps you dont know the difference!😡

Hi. Thank you for your feedback. This is Jimmy, the chef of Cafe Molave. I always welcome comments and suggestions because I never stop learning. Pardon me if I was so upfront in telling you that I will be ashamed to serve food with substandard ingredients. I will never compromise on ingredients as I only want the BEST FOOD FOR OUR GUESTS. As a professional chef, I was trained to act right away if there is any complaint with the food so I can fix it immediately. Unfortunately, I was not given the chance because you already finished the food. Again, I am sorry if our Melo's Cannelloni did not live up to your expectations and thank you for coming to us. All the best to you.

I'm going there, 3 to 4 times a week, since the first day of its opening, as I'm working in Tabaco.
If you want to have a quiet lunch or diner with very good food, it's the place to go....
If you love professional service and warm Team, it's the place to go...
....and the prices are affordable.
Enjoy!

If you are visiting Tabaco City, don't miss the chance to stop by this lovely cafe. Scrumptious meals in a very affordable price.
Location:
It is located along the highway on your right side if you are travelling from Legazpi City.
Food:
Been craving for their sandwiches and pasta. The food is good for 2 people already and very delicious.
Others:
Aside from being a cafe, there are also native bags for sale.
Place:
The ambience is somewhat country but feels at home.
5 stars for this Cafe and I will surely go back.

Real quality snacks and meals. A cozy place, helpful owners and staff, blending of German cuisine and Bikolano ingredients particularly pili - from fruit cakes to hopia to butter cookies. It's a souvenir shop indeed but the 18th century German artifacts (double oxen yoke, deer antlers coat hanger and wooden clothes hanger) are not for sale. Their coffee, 4 cheese pasta and pink salmon sandwich are a must. And don't forget to take out some mango glazed ham, hungarian sausage and Chef Jimmy's baguettes.

If your trip takes you to Albay, Philippines, home to the famous Mayon volcano, and find yourself longing for a sip of great coffee, take a quick trip to Tabaco City. Don't worry if you've not had enough of Mayon, the trip will be worth it as you'll soon find out that except for the subtle differences in cover, i.e., some sides maybe more green or gray, which are telltale images of the effects of the recent eruption, Mayon looks majestic from anywhere in Albay. For after all Mayon boasts of being a perfect cone. Also, on the plus side, the trip will give the bonus coastal view of Albay Gulf on the other side of the road and the refreshing glimpse of a typical day for the local folks.
And for that perfect cuppa', drop by Cafe Molave and Souvenirs. For me, the perfect coffee is "dark as the devil and hot as hell". I'd say perfect for you even if your perfect cup is not like mine. They have other blends to choose from and decadent sweets and cakes and local confectioneries to go with your own version of a perfect coffee.
If you've worked out an appetite you can go for Jim's pastas, sandwiches and main dishes which will surely whet your appetite. But, if your appetite needs working up, start with their great appetizers. The ingredients are euthentic as they can be! Check out the Four Cheese Pasta with Ham! And if by chance your visit falls on special days like Valentines, Christmas, Molave cooks up a special dish to mark the special occasions. On any day, the dishes are a fushion of authentic ingredients stated in the menu, e.g., Hungarian sausage, and local fares.
After the great meal, go ahead and order another cup, while checking out the souvenirs. Nes' bags and native crafts are always bestsellers in trade fairs she brings them to. Of course there is nothing like a hot spicy dish to bring home from Bicol. Get a jar or two of their chili paste with the bags of pilinuts!
Coffee plus? I'd say, nothing like good ambiance and excellent service to put a plus to that great cup of coffee experience in Bicol, the Philippines!

We ordered the ff:
Spanish Sardines w/Sundried Tomatoes - 5 stars
Bucatini Beef Ragu - 4 stars
Mixed Sausage w/Bacon Sauce - 5 stars
Melo's Cannelloni - 4 stars
Strawberry Cheesecake - 5 stars
I really loved the Hungarian sausage so I ordered a few more pieces that I can cook at home. :)
The place is cozy and homey. The staff and the owners were also very friendly.

On my way to my meeting at Tabaco city, I had no idea of what the venue is by just being advised that it will be in Molave.
And to my wonder, it is a cafe and a souvenir shop. And much more! Its fascade is unassuming, you hardly notice the sign "MOLAVE" is made of hardwood. What type of hardwood? Now that's a coffee table conversation you would love to have with Jimmy and Ness, the owners.
If you have an eye for detail, you would awe and wow at the layout of the cafe, its decors, its furnitures, and the materials used. Up to the wash room, oh yes, its a place of real comfort. Each piece has a story that you'd love to hear.
I suggest to order the Mayon coffee to start with. Its nice and spice will kick off your day, if not make it. This place is highly recommended. Its about the coffee, the food, the decors, the people in the cafe, the souvenuirs and its about everything in it. Go there when you visit or just passing thru Tabaco City. Its a nice comfortable place to sit down, relax, and dine.
