Good food and variety with one glitch

We haven't seen very much good pizza, etc, on our regular trips to the area, so I don't know why it took us so long to get here, but we'll be back. It is obviously very popular - I'm glad we arrived early. Can't speak to the other menu items yet, but the pizza was very good. House made crust, good variety of toppings with several featured combos or build your own. Appreciated that you could get a 10 inch pizza rather than the usual 14 or 16 inch smallest. One 10 inch was plenty and with the toppings we took half of it home for another meal. Service was knowledgeable and attentive. The only negative was the extra charge for credit cards. I know some places are doing that, but this is the only place we saw that in this area in the two weeks we were there. No other of the 8 or so restaurants we dined at were doing that. To their credit, there were signs everywhere disclosing the charge, but to their discredit, the charge was noted on the check as a "Delivery" charge, which of course it is not, and apparently is automatically added, like they assume you will be charging. If you pay by cash, which I did, they have to take that charge off, which looks to me like a lot more trouble.

Not quite NY but good

I decided on Piace Pizza based on another review that said it tased like home for NY/NJ folks...while that wasn't quite true it was still a decent pizza. If I hadn't had that expectation going into it I would have probably rated it higher. Good crust, great assortment of toppings. I can't speak to ambiance since we ordered to go but I'd go back.

Rude, Rude Rude

I don’t know if the person who waited on us is the owners wife, family member but we had the rudest waitstaff you could ever imagine. We ordered many things, my husband ordered a Greek salad with chicken as his main (it’s a glorified pizzaria) and it came with an awful tasting balsamic vinegarette so he asked for a regular vinegar/olive oil instead. We were actually charged for the replacement. I wouldn’t even review this but, having had double hip replacement, we walked into a non reservation restaurant with a 8 person open table (that could be split into 2’s, 4’s etc) and this same woman said, NO you can only sit at the high top (a bit of an issue for me but not a huge deal) but the large table was afterwards was split into 2’s. I don’t know what we might have done to ruin this rude waitresses day but we were nothing but nice. I wish I could tell you about the food (which was ok) but this was the third time we have been there and the food is ok but the way you are treated there is beyond rude. They tout themselves from Philadelphia and they live up to that reputation (I.e. they have to grease the poles around stadiums if any of their teams win). Horribly done.

Poor management

Today was my first time here ,and our server was absolutely rude and completely careless..her name is theresa.. she never came to check on me and my fiancee and only showed up when it was time to serve alcohol only because there was a under aged girl that couldn't serve alcohol. I left her a dollar as tip ,because she never even bother to come check on us while she went 6 times to check on the next table because they looked like they had more money and they were older than me and my fiancee .. when saw the tip I left she slapped her dollar on the counter back to me . She should be grateful I'm not a ghetto person who would slapped her in the face right after that . Loved the food and the atmosphere but If i ever come back here I'm not having her as a server . Teach your servers better manners.

Always good and sometimes better

We are semi-regulars and believe that Piace is the best pizza you will find in this area. To top it off, at our last visit our waitress, Tracey, showed us a tiny pill bottle and asked if it was ours. She remembered the last place we sat and held onto the bottle not knowing how to contact us. We had no idea where it had disappeared. This is the kind of people that make coming here enjoyable. Great pizza and a caring staff.

Rude

I don’t know if the person who waited on us is the owners wife, family member but we had the rudest waitstaff you could ever imagine. We Arrived at 11am and the door was open so we sat down. The waitress proceeded to tell us they didn’t open until 11am. I asked what time it was as I was looking at their clock which stated a few minutes after 11. She then said the door should not have been open and asked what we wanted to drink. We gave her our drink order of water and unsweetened tea. When she returned she had the water in a to go cup and stated the tea was not available yet. Then she proceeded to tell us that we could not get a pizza for an hour or more as they had a to go order of 30 pizzas. We go up to leave and I truly don’t know if we will return.

Good find in Beaufort

Yeah, I get it. One of the main servers there is, let’s say, rough around the edges. The reviews pointing that out are correct. Crappy attitude. But, the pizza really is quite good. Thin crust. Generous portions for the price. Sandwiches are respectable for a South Carolina pizzeria. The guys behind the counter are good at what they do. Casual place and decent array of beer.

Terrible, unwelcoming restaurant

Denied a table for three because they might get a bigger group in. Never been treated this terribly anywhere else in the world. Only a single indication of the contempt thee people have for their customers.

Great pizza but deceiving charges

Go on line, read the menu and decide on a medium margarita 16.99...when I get there the bill has boxes for a tip so I check the smallest level....I find it hard to tip a person at a window who hands you a box at the same level as a wait person who tends a whole meal...yes they charge an extra 4% for credit that is not listed on their menu ...had I known that I would have brought cash....the bill came to over $22 ...what?...turns out they raised their prices...I was on your website an hour ago...well the medium margarita is now $18.99...they can't change it on the website because they lost their tech guy....felt deceived..wasn't going to take back the ridiculous tip to punish the window guy but I won't go there again

Great food and service.

Ordered pizza for pick up. They said it would take over an hour. After getting there I understood why. Very popular place. Pizzas were outstanding as was the Greek salad. Highly recommend. Barbecue Chicken was superior. Service was outstanding.

The best pizza in Beaufort, period. The little server is the best can’t remember her name but she is a worker! The pizza and anti pasta salad is amazing. Wash it down with the wine and all is fine!!!!

Yum! Don't sleep on this hard to find pizza place

We were a party of 10 with a newly graduated USMC in tow. We found this place on TripAdvisor and decided to give it a try. So happy we did. We ordered 4 pizzas for 2 tables of adults and teens. The star of the show for the adults was the BST. It was very good. We also enjoyed a Margarita, BBQ chicken (the teens' favorite) and a Mighty Marty?. The server was a bit frazzled at first as she was the only one working the dining room but she warmed up and was very nice. She even sent a slice of cheesecake home with our new Marine. If we are ever in the area again, we will definitely stop by.

Unfortunately, Probably the Best Pizza in Beaufort...

The pizza is very mediocre, but the best in Beaufort...and they know it. As a consequence, the quality and especially the customer service at Piace has noticeably decreased during the pat year. The sauce is bland, the mozzarella was cheap and tasteless. They like to think that they are NY style pizza, but they are not close. More importantly, the employees are rude and not very accommodating. We just ordered delivery, and they left out half my order. When I called back, the guy who took my order told me that he was "confused" by my order (2 medium pizzas?), and his solution was to send me the second pizza...no discount or consideration. I asked him to relay my displeasure to the manager...wonder if that happened? We have ordered from Piace for 5 years, and lately the CS and quality has really been awful. They are expensive, and really the only pizza choice here, short of the national chains. However, they have a competitor (Ryan's) who will open next month, and I think that they will lose customers. They are about to lose us.
