After reading the reviews I wasn't sure how our visit would go but I can say we were pleasantly surprised with our evening meal here. We went as a family and sat in the outdoor garden area. The staff were very good and quick to...see to us. The food was lovely and all our plates were cleared, starters and mains. Even the teenage son gave the burger a 10/10. Will definitely be back if in the area. Thank you.More

Came here yesterday for my 30th birthday for a lunch with my family and a few drinks the staff were friendly, the food was ok the cheeseburgers are by far the best thing on the menu in my opinion I ordered the Thai red curry...and it never had much chicken for the price your paying I personally think there should be more than 6 small chunks there was more veg than chicken. I waited almost an hour for our dessert after our main meal and we were outside so because burnt as I was sat in the sun and became very uncomfortable as did my family. It was 2 desserts and almost an hour wait ? Wouldn’t come back it’s expensive and the food as I said was ok nothing great but the wait was absolutely terrible! I always waited around 30/40 minutes from ordering for my main meal to arrive to have 6 small bits of chicken! Very disappointed with the service provided. If it wasn’t for the views I’d of rated lower.More

Being from the area I thought I'd support a local business and take my family out for a meal here. The quality and quality were so disappointing. I'd eaten here just after the first lock down and it was OK. I think the hotel had...thought it was a good idea to now try and gain as much money from the public to make up for lost income. Don't they know it doesn't work...?? I will not be back and I will not recommend family or friends to go either. They will lose out... 🤬🤬 To actually talk about the food the starter was so small and unappetising I'm not going to even go there. Macaroni cheese main was one layer of pasta in a dish with a watery cheese sauce. The portion of garlic bread was one small slice of toast with butter on it. I'll have to take their word it was garlic butter. Syrup tart for dessert was industrial and very thick, cheap and sickly. I wonder how many customers they'll lose before they realise. If eating in the conservatory, customers and staff tend to not shut the outside door. Even though we weren't too near it, it was noisy as it banged constantly open and shut and cold. Probably the worst meal I've had in 10 years.More

Just out of the Lauriston with my partner for lunch. The food was very disappointing and the woman who served us has a severe attitude problem (appears to be the manager) blonde short spiked hair. Won’t be back, treat customers with respect don’t speak to...them like a piece of crap!!!! Won’t be back and would advice others not to go either. Shocking.More

Took my daughter in for a bar lunch as it was her last day before returning to school. (13/8/20) I was impressed with the hand sanitizer and thermometer before entry. Got a table outside for us. We arrived at 1:15 and got seated and were...given our drinks and Menus at 1:20. The waitress walked passed us six times checking and clearing another table but by 1:45 no one had approached us again to ask if we were ready to order. Needless to say we finished our drinks which we had already paid for as we were sitting outside and left. When we left there was one other table outside and two inside so not exactly busy. Very poor customer service.More

Visited the restaurant on Saturday afternoon, 8 August. We were greeted with the question 'Did you sanitise your hands'? The request is, of course, valid in the current context; however, the way it was put forward was brusque. The sanitiser was not at the entry,...and there was no sign as to where it was located. No wonder many people were confused. What struck the most was how abrupt the staff were - with the customers and to each other. It was odd; it seemed that they were stressed and unhappy. Just one example: the lady at the bar (a supervisor/manager?) saw someone ordering a latte. Her reaction was 'A latte?! Who the hell can order a latte in this weather'? (It was hot that day.) Needless to say, it's unprofessional. The food was 4/5. Nothing exceptional in terms of the presentation or taste but it didn't let us down either. It is the service and staff relationship that requires attention. It was the least hospitable venue that I have visited.More
