Favorite Review

Wonderful food and service, but too hot during the day

Beautiful brunch. They had sushi, crab, crepes, a dessert buffet with artesanal chocolates and all kinds of pastries. Amazing service. I’d like to see them have the A/C on on the hottest hours of the day or perhaps a big-ass fan instead of the small ones now. The coffees were super tasty, but they should be brought to the table with a spoon. It is a beautiful place, highly recommend it.

Excellent service, delicious food, beautiful sunset view, friendly and knowledgeable staff. Our server Del was delightful and the Restaurant Manager Hector was a true gentleman. Highly recommend to try this place.

The restaurant's facilities are beautiful, and the service is excellent from the moment you arrive. The food is delicious. My mother loved it, and we will definitely be back!

Skip it for dinner.

Well, what’s true for breakfast is not true for dinner ! Avoid Coa for dinner. Way over priced, amateur service, and “rack of lamb” special was 2 baby lamb chops! Watermelon salad not eatable. After such a great meal at other restaurants on the property this was highly disappointing. We will skip our second Coa reservation and head into Sam Juan to Marmelade instead.

Stay away and go elsewhere . Koa is overrated , overpriced and not worthy enough to be listed in Dorado’s top 5

The atmosphere is incredible . After that it goes downhill fast . The service was disappointing considering that the restaurant was not at all busy on a week night. The food was equally unimpressive and 2 of our plates had to be sent back to be recooked . Their medium rare rack of lamb came out raw near the bone and a steak ordered medium well done came out medium rare instead . This rookie mistake delayed our meal while the rest of our group were almost finished by the time the undercooked meat was recooked . The side dishes were cold by the time our recooked meat came back to the table . Uggh. Overpriced food and a extremely disappointing experience .

Great ambiance with bad vegan options

The ambiance is great. The surrounding, the music and staff. If however you don't est meat, expect a nicely coated uncooked, cold tofu. They can do better, and for the price and reputation they should.

Room for improvement

Long time customer, food has gone up astronomically in price ($118 for a piece of Dover sole, with no sides, as one example). You have the feeling that the food is prepared for a massive banquet, rather than with any personalized attention. Service is good, drinks are good, but the mains and sides tend to be perfectly average overall (noting that some of the cuts of beef are so exceptional, as in wagyu, that they come out well in spite of everything…but you are paying dearly for them). I do think they realize they have a problem and will be revising the menu in November.

Best dinner at Ritz

This was our favorite dinner meal of the entire stay at the Ritz, although we also had great breakfasts here every day. Try the avocado toast for breakfast! The staff are very good and the menu selection was wonderful.

Cao is where they serve an excellent breakfast every morning with exceptional service. The beef is their specialty at dinner, but everything was very good. Lovely setting right on the beach, and an excellent bar.

Extremely disappointed

We dined here twice in our week's visit to the host resort in mid-April 2021 and both times were really bad ... the first time I thought it was just an off night, but two nights later was even worse. The setting is lovely, the servers did their very best, but most of the food at both dinners was barely edible and drinks service was abominable. Wednesday, arrived at 7:45, first drink arrived at the table shortly after 8:30. Had to order round 2 immediately as the bar had to close (due to COVID restrictions) at 9. Second drink arrived around 9:10. First course watermelon salad and seared fois gras were good, amuse bouche was tasty, bread was good. Queen snapper was adequate but Dover sole was a disaster: this delicate fish had been thrown on a super hot grill and left there to burn to a crisp. Don't remember if we had dessert, but probably not as the kitchen also had to close at 9. Friday, arrived at 7:30, no drinks until 8:40 and the second round order was taken by the waiter then, but refused by the bartender due to the time. Only one starter, steak tartare: AWFUL! Grey ground meat covered in tasteless, odorless truffle slices: inedible. Followed by roasted chicken that turned out to be a Cornish game hen, spatchcocked and suffering the same fate as the Dover sole: burned to a crisp and uncuttable, let alone edible. The sauce was actually good .... would have been nice to have something to eat in on. Side order of gorgonzola potatoes au gratin looked like someone else had already eaten them and were cold when served as well. Partner's tuna, on the other hand, was delicious. No amuse bouche, no bread, no dessert. This time I complained to our "embajador" and the cost of the dinner was refunded. At breakfast, on the other hand, everything was lovely both times we ate in. For such a potentially fine restaurant serving clientele at a high-end and elegant resort to have two such nights in one week ... well to have any such nights at all ... is inexcusable. The other restaurants in the resort complex are fine, but this one: OMG!!!

Best dinner ever!

One of the best meals of our lives here! Fantastic food and service. The kids also loved their meals. Extensive wine and cocktail list with wonderful desserts.

Wouldn't serve us at 7:30 am because "they might get busy today" said the hostess.

The views are stunning! The problem is that we are Dorado Beach Club members and have been turned away at 7:30 am because the hostess stated they might get full today because the hotel is sold out. The restaurant was empty besides one table. We had our baby with us and told the hostess we would only stay 30 minutes and she still said no. This isn't the first time we have been turned away on the property trying to spend money on a nice meal at an empty restaurant. It's disappointing because club members pay a high initiation fee and monthly fee to be told you can't eat at an empty restaurant
