We have been coming here for the chicken BBQ since the 1980's and it is the locals best kept secret. They have the juiciest and best tasting BBQ in town and maybe I dare say the Philippines. Makati and other restaurants in Cebu or big cities end up disappointing me as our standard has become Sabeth's. we bring out of town guests and even foreigners here and they all love it. Reasonably priced, tender and juicy, perfectly grilled chicken. Be prepared for long lines though! :)

This is by far one of the best BBQ places I've been in! you'd really be able to taste the Marinade and the dipping sauce of Pure Cane Vinegar and Soy Sauce with Chilies!

1. Pork and chicken barbeque tasted fine - skin was burnt a little which affected my experience - the chicken I got had below average tenderness
2. Rice packed in suman wrapper looked interesting - a warm cup of rice would have been better.
3. Soy sauce was great - a good condiment for the bbqs.

It was close to the hotel. Traditional Filipino barbecue. Service was so so, as was the barbecue. Several restaurants in the area, next time will take the time to try more of them.

almost the same quality of barbecue offered in the city, they only got nice place to dine, but lacks staff to entertain customers, we ordered at around 6:30 and got our dinner served at 7:45...much better if you go there with your car, most probably you will be in priority, if not, well have patience to wait...

Sabeth's is always a treat for hungry travelers on a budget! For the price, you get great grilled options - we love the chicken bbq as they're always so juicy and the marinade is delicious.
On our most recent visit, they ran out of hanging rice, but they did their best to procure some for their customers from neighboring food stalls. Service is also good and the place is clean and well lit. They also stay open even in the later hours of the evening.
We're big fans!

A staple eating place when we are in Surigao City. Their chicken barbecue is a must-try. Other side orders may be chicken skin, liver, bituka barbecue. All served directly from the grill.
Prices are so affordable. But be prepared to wait in line for a table especially during lunch or dinner. Same is true with service, which is affected by the influx of customers.

LOve the barbecue here, although service is not so timely since customers are pouring every now and then, you need to be patient or else book in advance to stay away from hassle of waiting in line. But overall love the food

Another gastronomic experience in Surigao..this time I've sampled the best chicken inasal that place has to offer..no fancy sauce..just the juiciest bbq right into your plate..flavor is so simple ( a hint of lemon grass,coco vinegar and ginger )...every bite is satisfying to the palate..don't miss their isol/isoy aside from paa,and Pecho..be here early if you want to be seated soon as you arrived...the place is small and there's a long cue waiting outside...best value for money..definitely will eat here when I travel back to Surigao!

It's been a while since our last visit in Surigao. Sabeth offers the ultimate Surigao BBQ! The BBQ flavor is great! The place is small though. First come, first served.

Whenever I go back to Surigao City, I always try to make sure that I go and eat in this place. This is my favorite grilling restaurant. Even my family members like their chicken barbeque that I once took home several pieces, had them refrigerated, and flew them to Manila. The food is affordable.
One major problem is that the place is too small and they have a lot of patrons. You will have to be patient waiting for a table to be cleared during their peak hours (especially dinner time).

Sabeth was a stall before, near the port side. The city cleaned up the place and they had to transfer ..they found a small place also near the port.
Flavor wise, this is the best, even my daughters can attest to this!!!
Their 'puso' rice ( rice wrapped in coconut leaves, an art in itself, is quite hard, but everyone is allowed to bring their own rice!!
Grilling is done outside the dining area...place is so small, can be crammed during weekends, holidays like All Saints Day when no one wants to cook!!!
It's an everyday dining, casual...
You can call in advance to have the grilled foods ready...they also have local sausages (chorizo), chicken gizzard, heart, head, neck and other delicacy parts of the chicken.
