A respite from the heat of the Disneyland sun. Thoroughly enjoyed the tempura dish which paired delightfully with a refreshing kirin ichiban. Reasonably priced too. A great fun park option.

This spot was very tasty, but unfortunately, this restaurant and the majority of Tokyo Disneyland’s restaurants did not have many options for my vegetarian family members. However, the tempura udon and the tonkatsu rice were very delicious.

We went to visit Tokyo Disney today and the first thing we looked for was brunch because we had woken up late today. Restaurant Hokusai was the first one we saw upon entering Tokyo Disney.
Restaurant Hokusai is the Japanese Restaurant in Tokyo Disney. Its ambience is very Japanese with traditional Japanese music in the background. In terms of ambience, you will forget that you are in an American style theme park.
In terms of food, I will speak for the food which I ordered in this case Tonkatsu and Rice. Upon first glance, the food might seem a bit pricey but considering that you get a miso soup, chawan mushi, and mashed potato in the form of balls, it is definitely well worth the price. The Tonkatsu and Rice was perfect and tasted great. For food that is fried, it did not give me sore throat.
We had brunch there at 11ish and got our seats fairly quickly despite there being 4 or 5 groups in front of us. My father went to eat there again for dinner. He said at peak hour conditions, he had to wait more than an hour before getting a seat.

The food is very nice. They have cute papers to entertain the children while waiting for food. Kids meal are available. Great service with their own restroom. Must go early or else the queue will be very long. Big waiting area upstair. Child-friendly.

We read about this place while doing research and it was a welcome respite from all the long queues for hot dogs, pizzas and churros.
The menu is pretty basic and offers about 4 to 5 main course item with a kids set available. Popular items include the tempura udon and pork cutlet tonkotsu set. Staff are friendly and food preparation was fast.
Even the cold udon with sesame sauce set was delicious by Japanese standards and food was of good quality. Reservations are advised but do come at the off peak hours in order to beat the crowd and get a shorter wait time. Definitely a place to come by if you crave for good quality Japanese food amongst the other burger, pizza and pasta offerings within the park.

We stumbled into this restaurant whilst within Tokyo Disneyland, and we were glad we did.
The food was amazing. It look and taste healthy and tasty. For us who wanted to taste the local fare, even if it is in Disneyland, we find this restaurant was reasonable in price and the food presentation is unrivalled.
The service was also quick and easily communicated. We never once felt unattended to even with the crowd that they had on the day we visited.

Came here because EVERYWHERE else in disneyland restaurants has long lines at around 730pm. The prices are a little bit higher but they were delicious. We ordered the Tempura set and the Tuna, crabmeat and Ikura don. The Tempura were not oily at all, in fact it was crunchy and fresh! The Tuna and Crabmeat were fresh as well.

Impressions: Gluten friendly, white walls with darker wood trim with sections of wooden table and chairs, friendly service, Japanese classics, moderately priced
We did not have a reservation and had to wait about 40 minutes which for a Disney restaurant is not bad. The place reminds me of a Steak and Ale for some reason without the white tablecloths. The service is very welcoming and fast.The food was wonderful. I will eat here again the next time I am at Tokyo Disneyland

If you are looking for an authentic Japanese meal (and aesthetic) at the Tokyo Disney Resort, this is the restaurant for you. My husband and I got the pork cutlet set and the tempura set, both of which were delicious and authentic.
Make sure to get a reservation in advance if you can.

Never went to a Disney restaurant where you needed a reservation.
When I arrived, they asked if I had a reservation and I said no - how would I make one if I just arrived to the park, did not know about such a thing, and how would I have made one speaking English...
The staff was very nice and said they have tables available as I was early in the lunch time.
Menu was very simple - 5 basic lunch sets.
Ordered their Japanese steak lunch which came with soup, rice, salad, and pickles.
Great service, fast tea refills, and friendly staff.
For $20 USD - very good deal and not overly priced like the California Disney!

We dined here as a small group and the food was delicious. We didn't have to wait long to get a table and the service and pricing was also very good.

I was able to enjoy an amazing gluten free dinner here including dessert. We had not made a reservation, so we had to wait on line for about 40 minutes (not bad for Disney!) The service was prompt and the check was only about $60 for 2. I would definitely eat here again!

Surprisingly, service in this restaurant was below average. We've experienced exceptional service everywhere else we've dined in Japan. We expected Disneyland service and we're disappointed. We expected that wonderful Japanese service, and we're disappointed. We had to chase the servers for every little thing, including tea and water. Not once, did anyone check on us. They delivered the food and disappeared. Only when they went to service someone else did we catch them. They also had a practically empty dining room, but sat a family with a toddler and an infant right next to us. We don't mind fussy children and crying babies, but why sit them right next to 3 adults in a restaurant where most tables are empty? We've been eating wonderful Japanese food for the last few days, and some I'd this meal was good and some was just bland. Nothing was exceptional and worth the prices. A disappointment. Not recommended.

We love this "incognito" upstairs Japanese gem! Amazing tempura and udon - to name a few - inside a tranquil setting with great service. Make sure to have reservations in advance and go hungry since portions are generous and prices very fair.
