We set off on our 10.mile circular cycle ride but were not expecting such steep hills The lovely barmaid here gave us a map of a different way back and also offered us a lift with our two bikes if needed. What and amazing gesture....And an amazing tasty lunch too My husband had the chicken and bacon ciabatta and I had the endeme bean with a huge bowl of freshly cooked chunky chips. Would definitely returnMore

Given the name by an employee of a place we planned to visit but closed, we were not sure what to expect. A pleasant surprise. Had well kept ale, ciabatta with chicken and salad and very kindly and cheerful service. If ever in area would...certainly visit again.More

Eight of us visited on my birthday, and there was a really nice atmosphere, created by a fairly busy pub/restaurant on a Thursday night! All of the 8 main courses were excellent, especially my duck with noodles, the salmon teryaki salads and lamb shank. The...table service was pretty attentive, and although none of us elected to order dessert, I was surprised by the arrival of a chocolate cake with candles to mark my birthday. However, I realised after that this was provided by my family, not the pub, and with no other recognition of the day I was a little disappointed. A simple complimentary drink would have gone a long way, especially as we've been singing the praises of The Gardener's since our first visit earlier in the year. Nevertheless, it's a lovely place and the menu has enough choice to satisfy most diners, and we will definitely be returning (but maybe not on a birthday!).More

A lovely pub with a nice outside space for eating too. A friend and I had a lovely meal here. The staff were friendly and our main meals were plentiful & tasty. Plenty of vegan options for me! The only negative thing that I would...say is that I felt the desserts were overpriced.More

We ordered a takeaway for 14 people for Sunday lunch and were very impressed. They were very efficient with preparing our order, so it was all ready when we arrived but still hot when we plated up at home. The beef, lamb and turkey were...all good quality, with little fat and a nice bit of pink in the beef. The roast potatoes were nicely cooked and the cauliflower cheese was delicious. The green veg was okay but nothing special, and the same for the gravy. All in all, a definite successMore

We visited this pub having been recommended by the local caravan site. On arrival we were warmly welcomed by a friendly staff to a lovely looking environment. Unfortunately we were placed at a table that had not been cleaned/sanitised following the previous guests and we...had to request that this be rectified. This was of course of particular concern with COVID precautions clearly not being followed. The menu was varied and I chose a dish from the daily menu - sea bass with coconut rice and Mediterranean vegetables. ( one of the most expensive choices on the menu). On arrival the fish, although nicely cooked, was literally swimming in a huge pool of oil and the Mediterranean vegetables consisted of a pile onions and just 3 sugar snap peas. My husband chose the Oriental Prawn stir fry and whilst he enjoyed the dish, it again was awash with a large quantity of an oily sauce. Needless to say we both sadly came away disappointed.More
