Sea Shed is a lovely beach bar and I’ve now been there 4 times - but on the first visit I had the airline chicken at lunch and it was so good I had it for lunch twice more and didn’t try anything else. Then I went at night with friends I’d been telling about it, especially the chicken that is not on the dinner menu, and it was disastrous. We had a reservation and although our table was set and ready, we were not seated at it for 30 minutes but made to wait watching our table and trying to get someone’s attention. We were finally seated and the wine delivered, bottled water was suggested when we said tap would be fine. Then the food arrived and although the fish my friend had looked good, the rack of lamb had the very very faintest touch of pink (I’d asked for medium rare) and it required a steak knife to cut. The steak my other friend had was also very tough. So food consistency is a big problem and a half hour wait with a reservation when empty tables are visible and one is yours, makes no sense and can only damage your reputation. Needs a lot of work yet.

This is a new restaurant right on the beach. The facilities are great whether you are eating there or not. We hired loungers and a parasol for US$25 the day ( pretty much the normal rate in this area ) It’s really nicely styled with a driftwood & rope maritime theme. They have spotless loos, a shower area and iced drinking water available at the beach steps for customers. Free WiFi too. I enjoyed a perfect mid morning cappuccino on the beach. The staff were all friendly and courteous, especially Morrison. They have a good menu and a large selection of cocktails and wines. We had a delicious lunch. Barracuda for me and burger & fries for my husband, It’s not necessarily the cheapest lunch you’ll have but for a delicious lunch with a perfect ocean view I’d certainly recommend. Worth making a reservation as the restaurant was busy at lunchtime. The yellow reggae bus stops right outside in both directions.

Made our first visit to the new spot in town. Having visited this area regularly over the past few years it was nice to try somewhere new for a change. We made a reservation for lunch and relaxed on the beach on their loungers before and after lunch, which did cost extra. Attentive bar and snacks service available on the beach and fresh tap water. Our lunch experience was excellent. As a nibble we chose to start with the local crisps with a creme fraiche dip which were fab. For main I tried the creamy crab spaghetti and my wife had the crusted Mahi mahi was just just as tasty. Washed down with a bottle of chilled Minuty wine we were more than happy. We can certainly recommend the food and the service, being honest it’s not cheap but you get what you pay for, so we could not complain. We we visit again? Yes.

Eclectic, pricey menu but apart from the excellent grilled octopus as a starter we ended up going for pizza (excellent) and a hamburger & fries (very good.) Lots of buzz around this place & it’s definitely the spot this season on the west coast. That being said, I felt a little bit like I was in a different world, far from that lived by most in Barbados (even though there were some tables of Bajans.) I can recall enjoying picnics on the sand under the casuarina trees now at the end of the restaurant parking lot, so way before Mullins was trendy and developed. Anyway the new reality is fine, food and service very good. Even little kids were welcomed and tables looked like they were having fun. Be prepared to pay for that fun. I like the restaurant design but there are only four toilets for all its clientele (two outside the premises near the parking lot.)

We ate at this new spot 3 times on our last visit. The setting is great, vibe is super cool, food is good and priced well, but the stand out to us was the service. Often island service is synonymous with being slow, but here I watched and could see the servers actively scanning tables and guests and we were never without water or attention. The pizza is delicious, as was the appetizers we had. They were nice enough on one occasion to let us adults eat at the tables and our older tween aged kids have a pizza on the beach while they could play.

The Sea shed is in a lovely location , wait staff were friendly and attentive, unfortunately this is where the good vibes end . We were seated at 3pm on the beach looking forward to a swim, sunset cocktails and a hot meal . At 5pm we were advised that there was an issue with gas and they were unable to serve any cooked food. We waited until 6pm , still no gas ...we understand this may be out of the restaurants control. We asked staff if we could order in some hot food and continue to enjoy drinks and our beach lounge , they said this was ok considering they could not serve anything other than salad . When the food arrived , Meghan the manager was extremely rude , stated we had lied and attempted to sneak in food , we explained we had spoken to staff and wanted to come up with a solution. We also offered to consume the food away from the restaurant on the public beach ... still a no from Meghan Her lack of customer service, rude and confrontational behaviour was appalling. We spent $935 at the sea shed and would have happily eaten there if they could provide food . She even went as far as sending security down to ensure we weren't consuming food . Her customer service and problem solving skills are lacking and her attitude brings down the vibe of the entire place. A manager should know how to effectively communicate with customers when things go wrong. The rest of the staff were amazing, apologetic and friendly, if not for them we would have left immediately. It was evident she has no rapport with staff either, this place would be amazing with better management and critical skills in communication and service .

Went to Sea Shed for lunch with a friend. First time visit, won't be the last. I loved the menu as they had some of my favourites; beef carpaccio and grilled lobster. By far one of the best beef carpaccio I have had. The grilled lobster on the other hand was a bit salty and my friend said her main was a bit heavy on the salt also, which is why I gave 4 stars instead of 5. Great setting by the beach. Nice vibe. Polite and attentive staff. I thought it was reasonably priced overall, but thought the starters we had were quite pricey ($38 each). There were 2 of us and we had 2 cocktails each, a starter each, a main each and shared a dessert and the bill came to $370 with service charges. When they are busy you can only have your table for 2 hours. Would like to experience dinner there, so, I'll be back!

As we had just been released from quarantine & the Sea Shed was only 100 yds or so from where we were staying it seemed the logical place to have our first meal out on the island. Although it was a Sunday & the restaurant was extremely busy they managed to fit us in for an early lunch. We loved it — it is a fun, lively restaurant most of which is out in the open with guests eating on the beach, on the open terrace or as we were near the bar area. The restaurant is located in the middle of Mullins Beach. The menu is long with the restaurant specialising in salads, sandwiches & pizzas but there are enough different main courses to keep everyone happy. After a rum punch each my wife ordered the coconut shrimp — 4 large shrimp in a light batter with a tangy dipping sauce . I chose the lobster & avocado cocktail — a square of mashed avocado on top of a base of chopped lobster in a light Rosemarie sauce. Both were excellent. For our main courses I chose the chicken sandwich with French fries whilst my wife had the Caesar salad. The chicken sandwich was very good — a large piece of fried chicken in a thin batter with a light spicy sauce in the sandwich with dips of ketchup & Mayo on the side. It hit the spot. The Caesar salad was good but perhaps too much lettuce & not enough chicken according to my wife who left most of the lettuce. Besides a large cocktail list there is a good wine list & we had a bottle of AIX rose which at around B$100 was excellent value. We each had a dessert to finish — my wife the mango sorbet whilst I chose the creme brûlée which was good but nothing special. The service throughout was excellent, very friendly & efficient and there were no long pauses between each course. Overall a lovely & relaxed meal & we had already reserved a table for next week.

Seems like a newer place on the island. The vibe was a little clubby for me, but it is right on the beach and very comfortable. Both our meals were very good. I had the fresh catch both nights. My wife had a pizza with a bunch of seafood on it and really liked it though thought it had too much pesto. Grilled octopus appetizer was small but very tasty. The first night we were there the servers forgot about our meals and only brought our daughter’s(best chicken tenders ever but pricey) meal. They apologized and gave us a couple free drinks while we waited which was fine because it was such a nice spot. Not cheap but decent value for the island. Will be back.

We went for lunch at the start of our holiday, had to sit on high chairs, not comfortable, reception had to request if the chef would allow us to eat (as we hadn't booked). Food was okay, and the wine took forever to arrive. Hubby like the place though, so we booked dinner later that week. It was fabulous, service was great, the octopus salad was delicious (although they need to up the amount of octopus, the tiny piece was just not enough for the amount of salad). The star of the show was the steak, it was fantastic, and the fries were delicious too. We again booked dinner a few days later, service was terrible, far too many people milling around, and nobody doing anything, no water, no wine, no cutlery, no organisation, no apology. Food was good though. We booked for our last night, 8pm, really looking forward to it, all dressed up as it was Saturday night. When we arrived they parked our car, took the keys, we went up to reception only to be told the kitchen was not accepting any more orders as there was a gas supply problem on the west coast. Okay, fair enough, it wasn't their fault, but why park the car, and take our keys, why not tell us as we arrived, why not email us to let us know? We had to traipse through Speightstown looking for somewhere to eat, thankfully we managed to get a table at Dockside, down by the port, otherwise we would have had to head back to the villa for beans on toast. This has the potential to be a great little place, and we look forward to getting back in March.

We had lunch twice, and dinner once in a 5 day period. These guys are trying to take on Lone Star and doing a pretty good job. Great sunsets, cocktails, and awesome staff who have clearly been trained very well. Poke bowl and the crispy fish sandwich at lunch are a must. Unfortunately dinner was a bit hit and miss. Once again the service was impeccable, but the dishes fell short. Salads are unimaginative and overpriced, while the fish had been in the sea and the pan maybe a week or 2 too long. The Thai curry was ok, but can’t yet compete with Lone Star. I think this place is only a few months old, so I would much prefer to give them the benefit of the doubt. By the time you can say Sea Shed, Sea Shed 5 times fast, these guys will have their act together. Please go there.

We tried to book a table for dinner twice but failed miserably. We called at reception on the second occasion and were greeted pleasantly enough but when it came to organising a table for 2 it was an amazing experience. A requlest for a 7 pm booking was a struggle for some reason followed by them suggesting 8pm or 8.30 We accepted both suggestion but then the recoptionist needed help, an assistant came and after a while she called for the manager. It was then suggested that "we may have a table for you" When we enquired if this was a firm booking they could not answer. Whilst we waited another customer arrived with a reservation but they could not find this on their booking list. The following day we were talking to some other holiday makers about places to dine and they recounted the exact same circumstance as our. Yes it has been opened for less than a year but surley reception could have been sorted out in this time?

Very lucky to be staying just across the road from this new restaurant . Fabulous setting and fabulous service supported a really great menu . (To die for banana tiramisu ) We loved the casual easy going vibe and the pizza option was a favourite if a full meal was not required . Best rum punch on the island A SPECIAL MENTION TO HENDERSON , always smiling , fabulous humour , great service and rapour , also the head receptionist always had time to say hello even on a really busy night .

My wife and I had a midweek dinner at this restaurant and were absolutely satisfied and pleased with all aspects of this establishment. Last minute reservations were made and taken with great professionalism and courtesy. This interaction was to portend the nature of staff interaction during dinner. Hostess and servers were pleasant and knowledgeable and quick to attend to out table. The menu has an extensive variety of seafood and chicken and steak on offering. Our drinks were good size portions if wines by the glass chosen from a modest selection of wines by the glass and bottle. For the mains my wife had the " airline chicken" and I had the coconut crusted Mahi Mahi. In a word both meals were superb. Good size portions in a beautiful presentation. We simply can not rave enough about the taste and quality of each dish. I would not hesitate to recommend a visit to this fine restaurant and we are already planning future dinner outings here. Great staff, great service and superb food.

We went for dinner on a Wednesday night with friends and it was packed! The atmosphere was great and food was amazing. I had the octopus carpaccio as a starter and the prawn curry both were delicious. The octopus carpaccio looked and tasted like something from a fine dining restaurant but didn’t have the fine dining price tag. My main was excellent and again not expensive. Everyone at our table enjoyed their meals. The staff was very attentive as well. This place is definitely on our radar now. Everything was perfect from the cocktails to the desert at the end. If I had a tiny negative thing to say I would say the wine list isn’t that great and they charge way too much for the brands that they do carry.
