The reception was mixed, champagne was forgotten, we were not greeted properly, and were given some incorrect information (price-wise). Nevertheless, she was friendly.
The room was very nice and clean. The bathroom and shower are awesome.
The sauna area is super nice, intimate and well-kept.
The dinner tasted excellent. The service could sell more if they refilled our drinks and asked. Our bottle was empty after the second course and stayed that way. Nevertheless, you feel incredibly comfortable.
The basil ice cream was absolutely amazing!!!
Beds are comfortable.
Breakfast was varied, the scrambled eggs were missing chives, they were not "mixed" enough in the pan, the bacon was not crispy, I would recommend the fried egg.
The service staff were super accommodating, but for me it was a bit too much of an "introduction" to the buffet. The cheese selection was great.
We will come again 😊

This is a very good restaurant! Very good, refined cuisine with lots of flavor from starter to dessert!
Super nice and attentive staff even though we don't speak German...
Superb terrace with lots of charm…
In short, top restaurant 👍 I really recommend it and it is certain that if one day we return to Gengenbach we will return there with great pleasure! The Michelin distinction is well deserved!

We went to this highly rated restaurant in the hotel we stayed in. The ambiance was excellent and the surroundings are charming. The service was excellent. I ordered the fixed menu with tomato soup, fish and a tiramisu cake. My friend ordered a curry soup. The fish was excellent with a salsa sauce. Their amuse bouche and bread which came with it was good. Unfortunately both the soups were too sour for our taste and the tiramisu cake was below average. It was layered cream sponge. I am not sure why it was labeled tiramisu as there was no coffee taste.

Unfortunately, only a satisfying one. We were 24 guests as a couple in July, and unfortunately only my husband's food met his standards. My food was unfortunately cold, very lovelessly prepared on the plate and could not meet the high expectations that the house also has for itself personally. The beautiful outdoor area invites you to linger, but for a good the food should have been better overall quality.

We had a fantastic meal in Brasserie Cocotte twice.
Very nice place with great service. Nice terrace. They have a nice formula. Lots of dishes to share. Everything beautifully presented. you can also eat a la carte. We had vitello tonato. Lamb shank was also very good.
Nice tasty dessert espresso with chocolate mousse.

Nice rooms but flooring needs to be redone/ fixed as some boards are loose.
Flooring is, as one can read, made of wood.
Rooms are quite cosy.
Restaurant is mentioned some years in Michelin, but ...
On three consecutive days, I received the same “Gruß aus der Küche” being Gans in Gelee. On the same three days, the main course was accompanied by Rotkraut ( boiled red cabbage) and Spätzle.
On Christmas, the restaurant was given to outside people whereas people on halfboard were seated elsewhere ( in a chimney room or even in the hallway for some.)
The hotel has three parking spaces and all other people need to park elsewhere ( public parking or building 200m away where none of the spaces is reserved in the hotels’ name.)
The hotel has a sauna, open from 11 a.m till 9 p.m., a nice small chimney room with lounge music. Halfboard is with a limited choice of food around “Vesper-time”/ teatime.
City center is just a few steps away. Cobblestone streets in the center, so do not wear high heels!
Some people have dogs, they seem to be welcome, which is rather rare in Germany.

Our two visits here contrasted . One a party of five and one of four . The menu is interesting but way overpriced. For a restaurant with Michelin pretentious it needs to do better than serve generic frozen fries with main courses. Service was attentive and pleasant though a little chaotic in the rain when we moved inside.

I stayed in the hotel and booked dinner in the restaurant. Excellent and attentive service. I had the fish set, and my friend had a steak.
Food was excellent at every stage: from the bread and the house made butter, to the amuse bouche we both had, to my gazpacho and starter. The highlight was really the monkfish risotto for me - I love monkfish and this was done perfectly with a creamy risotto with seafood! Will be back next time I am in Gengenbach!

It's a very good restaurant.
TA editors, being the great minds that they are, deleted a couple dozen of my reviews for not adhering to their standards, or so they claim, even though some of those reviews were marked as helpful by other TA readers. But of course TA editors in their infinite wisdom know better what's helpful.

We had an amazing meal. This would be one of the more expensive nights out in Gengenbach, however the meal was outstanding and worth it. Everything was beautifully presented and delicious. The wine list was interesting and we went for a local Pinot Noir.

We chose this place for a Saturday lunch with my children and elderly parents. We settle down, get the menus and when we are ready to order they ask us to leave as their dinner preparation do not leave any space for lunch orders!? Outrageous!

We thoroughly enjoyed two dinners here. The food was outstanding. As seasoned travelers we were amazed to find this high quality in such a small town. The food was delicious and beautifully presented. The service was very friendly, professional and knowledgeable about the local wines. The staff were able to adjust the menu to accommodate our food allergies.

A surprise restaurant in the town of Gengenbach. It is located on the ground floor of the hotel with the same name. The interior is cozy and the service great. We tried the fish, the chicken and the pork. All were great
