Then I recently visited Castello in Jessheim. It has been a very long time since the last time, and I was therefore a little excited about this visit. The quality in previous years has been very uneven. This time we were several friends who shared various tapas dishes. The tapas menu contains many and varied dishes, and I was pleasantly surprised by both the content and the flavours. Very good. In terms of service, there is still a long way to go. We were very well received and the evening started well, but later in the meal you are a bit forgotten, and it is difficult to get in touch with the staff. It must be said that it was a Friday night, and quite a few guests. In terms of prices, they have set quite a high price on tapas, and if you take the recommendation of 3-4 dishes per person, as we also did, you quickly end up at around NOK 600 per person just for food. The place can be recommended as there are pleasant staff, the menu has a lot to offer, and the interior is also nice. Seating both inside and outside. Average service this time, but good food.

A slight minus is that they are located inside the shopping centre. The food was good, large portions. We ordered the Christmas plate, burger with fries and a plank steak, it tasted incredibly good. The toilet/bathroom should REALLY be renovated!

Cozy date with my love, delicious tapas and top service. A friend at Råholt would very much like to have their lovely dates with bacon, but there was no one to deliver so late. Then the restaurant manager, Nina, drove the food home to her door and saved the day 😃 top service! Far from what you can expect :) thank you very much!

Overpriced and low quality ingredients served at the price of a gastronomic restaurant

The food served have nothing to do with what they claim to be at Castello. The pepper and hollandaise sauces are clearly canned or industrial , the scallops obviously from a frozen batch as well as the lamb. Even if the final product doesn't taste bad you expect a made in house mash potato and fresh products when you pay the price of a high end gastronomic restaurant for your food. The service was not extraordinary despite the smily waitress as we had to pick up our own cutlery and napkins on other tables. To finish with we were charged 1200 NOK extra that we luckily noticed on time. Even if the food doesn't taste so bad if you want a frozen dinner you can buy it at your local supermarket and microwave it for a little percentage of what they charge in this restaurant. Thats a shame and sadly a NO GO from now on

A disappointing experience - poor food and unprofessional management

I had been looking forward to a special night out with my friends and had heard about this restaurant from several acquaintances. They had praised the atmosphere and recommended it as a great place for a nice dinner. We therefore decided to give it a chance and booked a table to celebrate the birthday of one of our friends. We hoped for an evening filled with good food, pleasant atmosphere and good memories. Unfortunately, it would turn out to be a huge disappointment. Unfortunately, I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. First of all, the food was bad - it was tasteless and clearly not made with fresh ingredients. It was a huge disappointment to pay so much for food that was not worth it. In addition, the experience was ruined by the way the bosses treated their colleagues. It was clear that there was a bad atmosphere among the staff, and the managers behaved unprofessionally and disrespectfully. This created an unpleasant atmosphere which negatively affected the entire visit. Me and my friends had hoped for a nice night out, but ended up with a very disappointing experience. I will not return and I will not recommend this restaurant to others.

Ended up at Castello by pure chance, and am so happy with it. Incredibly nice staff, very good food and a cozy atmosphere (typical for being in a shopping centre). It is possible to lower your shoulders and shut out the busy world outside. 10/10, thanks for me!

So good dinner and tapas! The service here was amazing. We came past the closing time for the kitchen, but they still kept it open for us. The cocktails were also amazing. Definitely recommend!

Order medium 2 grilled entrecôte, it was cold and the entrecôte was Raw +, they bring plate back to kitchen wash the beef and grilled more and served the plate again, We also have 1 lutefisk plate, and ask the waitor where this fish was produced, and it was produced at ASKO, please train your Staff ,where your meal comes from. ASKO is an wholesaler and not a produser.

We had dinner last weekend at this restaurant since it was recommended by a friend. We ordered a platter for starters and pasta for the main course. The serving was generous, food was really great, but the downside to the dinner was the slow and few staff working. We even needed to go to the bar to pay because the guy I asked our bill from was not attending to his tasks, obviously. We were already in-front of him but he didn’t even bother to give us our bill. He was pretending not to see us asking for the bill. Obviously, the management needs to work on how the crew should handle customers’ needs. 🙃

Stopped by during a visit to Jessheim Storsenter. The food was good and they had a decent beerselection aswell. Staff was friendly and prices were reasonable. Well worth a visit if your staying at an airport hotel.

With the occasion of the city days i went in Jessheim and decided to eat at Castello. Once i enter the restaurant i was amazed by the medieval decor. The waiters were very kind to me and very patient with me since i didn’t know Norwegian and i had to speak in english. The meniu it was very diversified so it took a long time to choose what i want to it. After a few minutes i decided and i ordered something simple, a burger. The presentation of the food was very good and the taste it was great. After this beatiful experience i told all of my friends and family about Castello and the incredible food that you find there. Next time when i come in Norway i will come back for sure at Castello.

Friend’s birthday party. Service was excellent... food average. Beef was taste free, portions varied for each person. They have the right idea but need to raise the bar ref. cooking and taste. Bland food, some mass produced. Just eh...

Quality of food and service has going down for past couple of years. I loved food and service but from now on I will stop here only for the drinks. Been eating here 3 times in past month and every time it has been disappointing. Last time I ordered tapas with grilled vegetables and what did I get was cooked carrots, beans and broccoli and paid 79NOK for that. I wonder does the cook who sends out something like that out from his/hers kitchen owns any respect for his/hers work or for the customers. Waitresses needs to come out and keep eye on customers and remember orders. Last time they forget 4 separate times to bring our drinks. All of them were really nice and service minded. Missing the old Castello.

I come here several times a year, but for the first time ever I was not happy. We stared with their fantastic garlic bread. We had both ordered lamb, but what we got did not taste good at all. It did not even taste like lamb. We complained and the server took it back, not asking us what we wanted instead. It took a while, while we waited for him to take our new orders, and when we finally got his attention, he said that a new plate of lamb was being prepared for us. Frankly, I would have asked for something else if the waiter had asked me what I wanted. Chances for a new plate of the same not-so-good meat was there. But when the new plate came it tasted very good. The meat was well done and nicely crisp on the outside and maybe a bit too raw on the inside, but it must definitely have been from a different cut of meat. The veggies were well made, carrots, mushroom, green beans and asparagus, and the mashed potatoes had been in the oven to give a good baked feeling on the outside. The restaurant fixed the problem nicely, and the food was good the second time, but this is why they do not get a top score this time. However, given the many times I have had very good food there, I would not hesitate to some back.
