Omakase was the perfect amount of food and even though I am so spoiled living in the culinary paradise that is Tokyo, I still will always come back to this place. Why? Great cost performance and the service is just perfect. The neta quality was...off the charts and i was just blown away by the various types of fish that came across the counter. Would bring friends from any part of the world to this place...More

Reservation was made by our hotel. Recommendation was from our Japanese friend. The experience was amazing and fun. Location is couple of quick turns from Ebisu station. We sat at the small L bar. The chef had such a friendly face and was immediately smiling...and laughing with us. The entire production took a couple of hours. We had about 25 courses. The chef was drinking a beer and laughing with other customers, while informing us about each fish in English. The fish was unbelievable. So delicious and we wrote down all the courses. A group beside us were celebrating something and the young lady wore a shirt saying "No Panties" with drawings out naked ladies. The other couple at the bar bought us a role of horse makerel as it was in season and the chef's favourite. As we were getting so full near the end, the Chef would say "Ok, I'll use less rice, same fish though". Definitely didn't skimp on fish or size of servings. We definitely plan to make this our regular place in Tokyo. Extremely memorable dinner experience.More

This small restaurant is a hidden gem in Ebisu which was recommended by my secretary. This is a good choice for people that want to try a very good sushi in a local restaurant. Food was amazing :We have ordered a fixed menu where we...had the opportunity to try probably 20 different types of exquisite Sushi with a great variety of Daiginjo SakeMore

It was just amazing, a performance of taste and beauty. - The staff was extremely polite and friendly, we had the chef's course (it was the only option) and it was worth every yen. Almost every bite was pure pleasure. I will never eat sushi...in Europe any more...More

Arrived in Tokyo in the evening and set out looking for food. By chance chose Matsue and they welcomed us at about 10pm. I believe reservations are almost mandatory. Guided through 'chefs choice' go easy on the soy and wasabi (fresh)! Best sashimi ever.

Communication is a challenge unless you bring a Japanese speaking friend. Do the omakase and be done with it. Deceptively large venue by Tokyo standard. There are additional rooms on the second floor. Reservation ahead is a must. Fair warning, the omakase will ruin you....You will never appreciate sushi outside of Japan again.More

So friendly, and simple, perfectly prepared sushi. Quiet little neighborhood joint. Only local Japanese there when I went. Not flashy, but just solid, thoroughly enjoyable, amazing sushi, with a couple creative touches.

I like this place. Traditional looks but also casual. The chef's were very friendly and talkative. They explained each course in detail. I highly enjoyed the tora tuna.

You can spend a lot at the top Michelin starred Sushi places in Tokyo, and they are worth it, but if you want high end Sushi at a more reasonable price, Matsue is a great choice. It's a little larger than some of the most...exclusive places, but still tiny compared to restaurants in the US or Europe, and the masters behind the two counters treat the wonderful fish and other ingredients with the respect they deserve. Some of them speak a little English as well, which enhances the experience by allowing them to explain what they are doing. It's a mostly Japanese crowd, but there are a fair number of Gaijin as well. Expect to spend $100-120/per person for very satisfying a 90 minute Omakase with Sake, and you'll leave smiling.More

I try to go for lunch, as the prices are about half. Most times, I am the only westerner in a sea of wealthy hip Japanese. Its all omakase and it's all great. This is refined, from the quality of the dishes you are served...on, to the service, to the divineness of the food. Its a short walk from Ebisu JR station, and its a worls away from what passes for sushi in the rest of the world. Well worth the trip and the money.More

Midweek evening, we came there before our Japanese friend. We are mixed couple, me Swedish white, wife French Caribbean decent. No irrashaimasu - only silence and "I'm sorry, have you got reservation?" And troubled face...Yes we had and we mentioned the Japanese name, and were...then sat at desk table. Some other gaijin were turned away, probably no reservation. All other guests were Japanese. After our friend arrived we started the series of courses/sushi and soup. High quality sushi, friendly service. Price tag 49000¥ for 3. Nice place, I could go there again, but you need reservation - and being Japanese is an obvious plus....!More

There are countless opportunities to shop in the
Shibuya and Harajuku districts, especially in shops
that focus on Japan's "Kawaii" culture. The trendiest
areas are around Shibuya’s Center district, Harajuku's
Takeshita-dori and in Omotesando. If you need to
recharge from all the shopping, you can easily refresh
yourself in Meiji Jingu or Sasaki Park. In contrast,
Ebisu has a more grown up ambiance of calm and cool.
