Found this restaurant by accident while we were tracking down a cab after walking out of the ferry terminal. Place is very clean, has great food, and very friendly service. My family came back for a 2nd meal before leaving the island. Highly recommended.
I live in the city and visit Oya-Co once or more a week. I have been doing it for so long the place feels like family to me. It is a very small place with maybe 8 chairs around a counter resembling a bar or...pub. It has an intimate vibe, making it easier to talk to other customers, whom are strangers sitting nearby. The restaurant is very clean as one would expect in a Japanese establishment. The whole staff is so polite, nice, and always helpful. The food is equally good. Buta Don was always my favorite until the staff recently added to their menu a fried chicken cooked Japanese style, with shredded Cabbage on the side, and something similar to coleslaw on top of the chicken. Try the sushi too. They don’t call it sushi since it is made with shrimp, but it certainly tastes very yummy.More

OYA-co Japanese Restaurant. is one of the best and real Authentic Japanese Resutoran you can find in Bohol. Food here is amazingly delicious. People are so nice and friendly. Very accommodating and they have this gesture that you can really feel the Japanese vibe. Superb...food choices yet so affordable! The food was absolutely wonderful, from preparation to presentation, very pleasing. I especially enjoyed my fav beer (Kirin Ichiban) My numbah 1 beer 😂, the Buta don and Miso was great! This restaurant is a must if you are in town! We stopped for lunch before heading for the port, its a 5-10 minute walk. The two ladies were really friendly and attentive. The food was amazing, FIRST CLASS!!!!

I am so thrilled to have discovered this hidden gem! While very cute and simple in appearance, the exquisite food they serve is absolutely astonishing. We didn't know what to expect and were pleasantly surprised by the whole experience. The restaurant is quite tiny, seating...up to 8 people (I think) at the bar, but everything is carefully decorated and really makes you feel as if you're in Japan. Although the menu has few items, every dish is cooked to perfection, meticulously prepared by the Japanese owner and his team. It was quite entertaining to see our food being prepared in front of us while we waited. Service is very friendly and efficient. After 2 visits to Oya-Co we have ordered everything on the menu. Portions are generous and great value for money. We loved everything we ordered, so it's hard to pick a favourite to recommend. I was skeptical of the cold noodles at first, but it was a fun experience and so delicious I couldn't get enough! I love their take on chicken with rice and and a fascinating reconstructed egg (you'll have to see it yourself to understand this). My husband's favourite is the pork and rice dish, which he compared to ones he has only had at high-end restaurants before. For vegetarians the Japanese egg omelette is an absolute dream. I can recommend this to anyone who loves authentic and not the usual Japanese food you tend to get in most places, in a cozy environment and at a great price!More
