Had my Wedding Reception there

We have been going to U'Curdunn for over 10 years. They have a variety of excellent Italian specialties. The roasted meats, grilled vegetables, pastas and desserts are to die for! They have a huge variety of wines for the connoisseur! We have had parties there, as well with about 14 people and the owners prepared tables quickly and efficiently with no problem. It's a local gem of a restaurant! Go there!

A great choice in Locorotondo/Alberobello area

We came upon U Curdunn by chance when we were wondering around Locorotondo and we had a great meal. The food was very fresh and the service was friendly and attentive. They had a very reasonably priced wine list and we enjoyed the wine we chose. It was refreshing to find a peaceful, fairly priced restaurant with excellent food and good service after visiting a much more hectic Alberobello center.

arrogant and overrrated

We made a reservation for two at the restaurant, for 8:30 pm I believe. When we arrived, five tables were empty, but the woman who met us at the door chose the small table right next to the bathroom door for us. When we told her we would prefer not to sit next to the bathroom, she told us that all the other tables were reserved. We protested, and eventually the man who appeared to be the owner or manager sat us at one of the other tables. The waitstaff continued to show some attitude toward us during our dinner. We found the food reasonably good, but not special. We also noticed that most of the purportedly "reserved" tables did not have anyone sitting at them during our entire dinner.

Do not waste your money in this place, bad service and food is mediocre. My Mom asked for a meat and they served us something totally different and wanted to charge us for it. Many other good restaurants in Locorotondo

Excellent and enormous antipasti

We went to this restaurant based on the advice of our B&B host, and indeed it was excellent. We took this antipasti for 2. It was made of excellent quality products typical from the region! Also amount of food was enormous, we really did not expected that. I really recommend people to take this antipasti to share. Then we took also a primi that was also really good. The wine that was suggested to us by the waiter was also really appreciated. Finally service and place are both really nice! I can only recommand to book there if you go to locorotondo!

Really good Pugliese cuisine

We got a dinner reservation at one of the few outdoor tables in the quiet cul-de-sac of this most beautiful Baroque Val d'Itria hilltown. Memorable and standing out from most of the dinners we had in our 12 days in Puglia, the table was set with mulitple delicious appetizers: crudites and foccaccie. These were followed by delicious main courses. The interior of the place also is beautiful, and you can see the meats and vegetables spread out before you in their kitchen. If you are nearby, this restaurant is worth a drive.

Not anymore, not professional

We have been in front of the restaurant, we have given them the name of reservation. Then 1,5 hour later we walked in front of the restaurant and they said they were full (we hear the waiter said to one guest that he can have a table because he was his friend, in front of us) ! This is unacceptable form the side of this restaurant. Don’t accept names and tell the people come if you have no table because we booked for you ! Don’t give your friends a table more than a customer!

Quaint restaurant, beautiful food

This quaint restaurant is nestled down a side street in the beautiful whitewashed cobbled streets of the old town. We were seated outside the main restaurant and the food was superb. A typical puglian sautéed cheese dish for me with tomatoes and walnuts to start, followed by slices of succulent beef fillet on a skillet with grilled vegetables and fried skin on potato slices to accompany it. Dessert was the best tiramisu I’ve tasted in years, with complimentary cherries and a strong black coffee to wash it down. The restaurant was unsurprisingly packed all evening. Highly recommend.

A taste of Puglia: A Must-Visit restaurant in Locorotondo

We visited Ristorante U Curdunn on our first evening in Locorotondo. It is a full range restaurant with a large selection of Puglianese cuisine. The owner Roberto and his staff do an excellent job and it manifests itself with excellent service and high quality food. Our first course (antipasti) was the Tanglier di Formaggi, which was an assortment of pecorino, parmesan and caciocavallo cheese along pomodorini and rocket....it was a great starter. The caciocavallo is outstanding cheese. for the prime piatti my wife had the Orecchiette con pomodoro which included a cacio ricotta and fresh basil....I tasted it too, and it was delicious. I had Strascinati (similar to orecchiette) with a ragu of braciola (rolled meat with herbs) and poplpette of bread (meatballs with bread, pork and beef). It was fantastic. We had some Primitivo and shared a Pistachio pan cotta for dessert. This was a great spot. I highly recommend making a reservation since it is a very popular spot for tourists and locals alike. You will not be disappointed...a wonderful place to taste local Puglianese cuisine. Enjoy!

Good food, nice atmosphere

Went here twice on recent trip. In the middle of the old town in a narrow street. Indoor and outdoor seating which seems to cover 2 streets, was always busy with a mixture of locals and tourists. Extensive menu with good selection. I always find it good to see what the locals are having and then go - I'll have one of those". It generally doesnt disappoint and didnt here. The caciocavallo was particularly good and the various tartare dishes looked really tasty. Orchiette and strascinatti pasta dishes were full fo flavour. Pistachio panna cotta was different but also tasty. God service, attentive staff and value for money.

Amazing lunch

Our tour guide brought us here. Started with eggplant parm. Freshly made and delicious. Then had pasta with meats in a rich tomato sauce and another with sausage and tomato. Both the best we had in Puglia. Had a nice chardonnay and then a primitive. Owner/chef Roberto in the kitchen out front. It can get noisy inside. Wish we could go back.

Beautiful first night dinner

We pre booked for our first night, we were late for our booking as delayed flight - this did not matter - we were made so welcome, gorgeous table outside to watch the world go by. Great sharing starter of local cheeses, then we both opted for pasta … so tasty. We’ve booked again for our last night as loved so much

It's a mix of things that transformed U'Curdunn in an unique place to eat. The food is excellent and unique, place is magic, simple. There special dishes are not in the menu, example the meat.... Ask Pepino what he could offer you, he is a fantastic person. If possible reserve a table outside.....

Great restaurant!

This place is fantastic! In Italy on a 2 week vacation and stumbled upon this lovely restaurant in Locorotondo. The service (thank you Paulo), food, and setting are all rated five star. Look forward to returning.

Great food and local wines

Great food and good local wines! Overcrowded by locals but that adds to the experience. Only downside was the smelling bathroom, the minute the door opened, you lost your appetite. I get it that the people visiting are the ones who should keep it decent, but OMG 😳
