We read about Alfredo Russi in the book “The 50 best restaurants in the world“, which appeared in May 2020 online. While talking with him before lunch, he smiled: “This is a mistake...“. This understatement pleased us and we waited in a relaxed and warmhearted atmosphere for a wonderful journey through 7 gourmetdishes and surprising amuse geules. Every dish offered a very wellbalanced taste with local ingredients. Excellent was the anchovis butter and the own olive oil. Alfredo told us that every single olive is picked during the night perfectly ripened. And immediately in the early morning, the olives are pressed. And this delivers pure gold of olive oil! Octopus on soft smashed potatoes with nori, supersweet cherrytomatoes with parmesan sables, heavenly risotto with salty anchovis and sweet caramalized lemon zest, supersoft beef and a worldclass piemontdessert: a biskuit soaked in strong coffee, roasted Tonda gentile hazelnuts, dark chocolate sauce and ice cream in a crispy ball... everything was very very good. The mignardises, 6 for every person, were served on the marvellous terrace with a breathtaking view over the garden and the Alpes. When you like to be treated as a king, eat at

The elevator brought us to the 4th floor, where the restaurant is. The interior is very beautifull and, as it was nice weather, we were invited to sit outside at one of the tables on the big terrace. From there, we had a stunning view of the surroundings (the palace on on one side and the garden on the other side). This first impression gave us already a "WOW" feeling. Staff is very professional and friendly. We chose the 7 course menu which might be a little bit to much for a lunch, but we wanted to taste the different courses in order to enjoy the Piemopnt kitchen to the fullest. We were not disappointed! Each course was very tastfull and showed us how good the Piemont kitchen in fact is. We had the pleasure to talk with the chef Alfredo Russo and that gave an extra touch to the "wow" feeling. So, all in all very worthwhile to visit despite the fact that is not located in Torino, but some 10 km oustide (Palace of Venaria is also worthwhile to visit!)

I had the pleasure to dine here in October and I am still astonished by the quality of the ingredients Chef Russo uses! For instance, in the menu you will find a "simple" pasta in bianco that will blow your mind with just few ingredients. We took the dégustation menu and we were really pleased by the fact that we could choose our own dessert! I am not really a chocolate lover whereas my friends were and we could all end the meal with our favourite flavours. The waiters were also super professional and polite with a very good knowledge of English!

We were welcomed warmly and we could enjoy our aperitif and appetizers on the beautiful terrace. However, when we went to our table inside the waiter forgot to bring in our appetizers. We had to ask for them. We took the 9 course surprise menu, but there was absolutely no balance in the dishes. We felt like stuffed turkey after the sixth course. We were looking forward to dessert so didn't have much of the ongoing courses. The 9th course (and in our opinion the last one) turned out to be pasta again. When we asked why it wasn't a dessert the answer was that the chef was making other dishes because he thought we didn't like the former dishes not having finished them! Only after this complaint did the chef come to the table to ask if something was wrong, but it was already too late and it spoiled our apetite and evening. In addition, the presentation of most of the dishes left much to be desired, and the waiter forgot to pour the wine and water, which we eventually did ourselves. Overall it was a disappointing experience.

Dear Sir,
yes, it's correct, you have chosen the surprise menu 9 courses ++ (the richest proposal), sometimes happens that in the surprise menu guests find some ingredients that they don't like... in these cases, immediately we make all efforts to add a new course with different ingredients...
In more than 3 decades that we manage our restaurant, it's the first time that we receive a so grumpy reaction to our cares (?)
People love courtesies, our guests are always grateful and happy about these attentions but evidently not you...
Anyway, thank you for the feedback, we wish you a future rich in happiness and health.

My wife's choice to celebrate her birthday. It offers a great experience of different type of food, cooked in a wonderful way.
Details are crucial for this restaurant where everything is managed in a very professional way, always keeping the customer as the focus of attention.
Sweets are also very remarkable.
At last, the location is fantastic since it is inside the Royal Venaria buildings.
In short: an experience to retry.

It was my second visit to Dolce Stil Novo. My first was 3 years ago and that time had been during a colder season so the menu and experience was completely different. This evening we had dinner outdoors on the terrace, while the last time was indoors. Outside was so beautiful with the views of the garden and the lovely palace brick. The service was really impeccable. I don't eat fish (a preference, not an allergy), and the waitress made sure to even bring a 2nd option of butter for me, as the standard had anchovies in it. I found it particularly thoughtful as bread is not the main focus of a meal for me at least, and they had already oil as another option. It really felt like no detail was too small.
Each dish that was brought to the table was perfect. We had the 5 course menu, with the wine tasting, I found the wine to even be unique and pair well with each dish brought.
There hadn't been forecast for rain, but just before dessert, there had been some drops of rain. We hoped it was just a few sprinkles, but it really turned into a downpour. The staff was really prepared for the worst. They rushed us to a table inside, and seemed very coordinated. The inside ambiance is just as beautiful, with a lovely marble floor.
We finished our meal indoors and were given an umbrella for our walk back to our car. Again, another nice service detail.
I highly recommend this restaurant. The value is really there and it's a magical evening.

One of my best restaurant ever.
The tradition and the quality are the main aim of this restaurant. The menu is well balance between tradition and innovation.
The chef propose his best dishes of his history but everytime we back we find new dishes. The flavours of the plates are autentic and delicious.
Large choise of wines.
Service smart and well prepared.
If you eat inside you can enjoy coffe on the terrace with a lovely view.

even if we are often sckeptical about starred restaurants this time it has been a wonderful experience. Cadre, style and service superb (even if waiters a bit stiff). Quality of food fantastic: right balance of tastes, inventive but traditional at the same time, intriguing amuse-bouche. We ordered à la carte and the choice iwas sufficiently varied for a wonderful experience. We particularly appreciated the chef, who comes to take the orders and counsels and explains, very amiable

Excellent place to dine, enjoy and relax with families, friends and colleagues.The food are soo delicious
and unique. Thanks to the chefs who prepared it.The staffs are also so professional and was helpful and they also suggested me some of their dishes which was amazingly great.

We had a lovely time for dinner.
The food is simply DELICIOUS, for the palate and for the eyes. Service is truly impeccable
Must admit we were prepared for the budget however whatever was “offered/proposed” by the house beyond the tasting menu, we felt was a little pricey.
Other than that a memorable lovely experience!

Dolce Stil Novo is such an amazing Restaurant with the most beautiful ambiance. All the menu is a piece of art the flavor, presentation and the quality of service is top level.
We are definitely coming back to Dolce, Chef Alfredo is the best in Italy. The wines from Piedmont they have are unbelievable, you will not find anywhere else!!
You need to try broken pasta, it will make you remember La Nonna!

We have been 3 times, Autumn, Winter and summer and each time was equally as amazing. The menu has been different each time and always amazed us. The service was top level, the first time I’d been asked if I’m right or left handed at any restaurant. These small touches really enhanced our experience. Highly recommend a visit, it’s a meal you’ll enjoy and remember.
