Very good food and big portions.

Very good food and big portions. We had the red curry chicken and the pork with mushroom sauce and both were very tasty. It was quite busy around 7pm so we had to wait a bit for a table to be available. The service was good but wasn’t the most friendly we had, maybe there is a lot of work pressure there cause they have so many customers.

Brilliant food to return again for

We kept returning to GarlicN lemon's wonderful food. For two adults and one teenager, we found it excellent quality, huge sizes and a great price. The Pina colada's were great value as well as the mango and pineapple shakes. We tried different things and all were wonderful. A wonderful quirky bar with Mike at the helm, it is worth the trip.

Highly recommend!

Garlic ‘n lemon bistro packs a perfect combination of flavor and culture for the food and travel afficionado. The place is very cozy and the owner, Mike, is a traveller and a collector of memorabilia and souvenirs from his travels all over the world. We were fascinated by the sight of them. His cuisine is superb and we would like to taste more of his dishes soon! He was even kind enough to offer us his coffee and tea as we shared warm conversations about his travels and experiences including the recent pandemic times.

We planned on having dinner

We planned on having dinner at this place because the reviews were really good. After ordering Tom Kah Gai and Red Curry, the staff told us that it might take an hour before we get our order. We thought it was okay because we were not really in a hurry. An hour passed and 30 more minutes before they were able to serve our foods. It was already disappointing considering the waiting time. When the Tom Kah Gai was served, it was already lukewarm so we had to ask them to warm it for us. Both the red curry and Tom Kah Gai almost tasted the same. Nothing was special really about their Tom Kah Gai and Red Curry. If you are fond of Thai foods, you’ll know. I guess the waiting time was super slow and they shouldn’t have accepted customers anymore if they only have one chef on-duty.

Disappointing quality

The good point: all the mains came at the same time (3 people)! The bad points: fried calamari were not fresh (tasted like old frozen calamari). If you fancy fried calamari go to Bamboo, theirs is fresh and just good. Vegetable pasta was over salted. The stir fried shrimps were OK, if you remove the load of green onions. The Thai chicken soup was very average too (not as thick as a normal Tom Kha Gai) I really don’t know why this place has high ratings. Very disappointing.

Slow & Unsteady

We must’ve come at a bad night, we ordered 2 mojitos,1 calamari, 1 shrimp mango & 1 papaya salad & 1 tomato herb veg pasta. Our calamari arrived after 40minutes that is after we asked to cancel the order because we had to be somewhere in another 30minutes and my husband was already on his 2nd mojito, chef/owner came to say that our order will be prioritised. We wanted to cancel because the guests next table, a group of about 7-8 who were already there when we arrived, have not received all of their orders yet, so we presumed ours will be after theirs. After about 5 minutes our calamari came, then 10 minutes later, the prawn salad, with the prawns missing. We sent it back and it came back with the prawns on top. The thing is, it isn’t really nice sending food back in the kitchen, it might come back with extra dressing on it. I understand that service can be slow on the islands, it’s the island life, but to get the food on your menu wrong is just disappointing. We came here because we’ve read so much about it’s 5 star reviews. We wish that things get better for you and things pick up soon so you can have more staff and a proper bartender. Goodluck!

Great service

I only placed an order for a cocktail which was personally prepared by the owner, Mike, and found it very good. Mike was also a gracious host. Just wish more tourists would patronize his restobar, the menu has a wonderful selection of good eats.

Don’t bother going here….

I have to say this was probably the worst meal we ate in Panglao and not particularly cheap. Yes the portions are hefty but the food was tasteless and in my case swamped with a sauce that just didn’t add anything to the plate. The chef / owner kept a table out front with his drink and cigarettes handy, to the extent that it even stopped a couple of diners who were waiting for an outside table. He kept asking if the food was ok, to which I said ok but he didn’t pick up on the clue that it really wasn’t ok. The only nice thing I have to say is that the waitresses were lovely. I definitely would NOT recommend this place.

Amazing food, worth a try!

I have a friend who lives in the area and told me about this place. The food was surprisingly good I literally come back every once in a while to eat here. Chef is very nice he would do anything to make sure you’re happy with your food. Personal faves i’d say creamy garlic pasta w/ chicken n shrimp and his Chef’s salad. My gosh you be lucky if he has beef tenderloin in stock your definitely in for a treat, worth every penny. 👌🏽💕

Red curry chicken is the best and deep fried shrimp must try. Reasonable prices. You should try this spot. Good wine with free tequila boom boom after my bill out.

The reviews misled us

We ordered 4 meals, one was a chicken schnitzel and the other a tonkatsu chicken, both arrived with the same sauce and size even though these were described as different dishes on the menu. They both came with a random tomato based sauce. We came here based on reviews, and have eaten in much better places in Bohol.

A great place to eat in Panglao not to be missed

Excellent food!! One of the best I have tried. My family ordered various dishes, starting from the chicken fingers, and the shrimp coconut soup as appetizers. The soup itself is a meal in itself. My kids ordered pasta, and chicken breast. We tried the meals, and they are good. I got the beef rendang which is spiced just right, the fried rice goes well. I enjoyed the food very much.

Delicious with super service

I was walking and saw this place and remembered from the good reviews. It was 11:30 and the were just getting ready. The guy who was setting the tables invited me to have a seat as they were opening at 12.00 and he said he'll cook for me as soon as they're ready. And he did :) I learned that he's Mike,the cook :) I had a mix garden salad and garlic buttered seafood with fried rice. They were both delicious and well prepared. Service was perfect. Mike, the cook asked me twice if everything is good and if I liked the food. He was friendly polite and professional.

Great food, you won’t regret eating here

Great food, we had the garlic butter shrimp with fried rice (the bestseller) and a shrimp coconut soup, both very tasty and reasonably priced. Had to wait 10 mins for a table but was happy to after reading great reviews. Staff were friendly, would defo recommend.

A must try in Panglao. The food is delicyious (have tried their beef rendang and also sea chowder soup- both amazing) for very good value. The owner, Mike, is a great cook as well as a cool host. Totally recommended!!!
