Went to the wine bar 2 days in a row. The food is great as well as the service/outside space. We'll return for sure.

A bit off the beaten track, situated in the backstreets of Panafiel, narrow streets and lots of shist stone buildings. This restaurant is obviously situated in a very old building, probably a famhouse, or barn. Loads of character. This is a tapas-type restaurant - and...you can just keep ordering until you are full. Or you can let the knowledgeable waiters order for you. They can cater for vegetarians, although this is clearly not their forte. The wine list is stupendous - about 20 or 30 pages worth. Some excellent wines available, but there is wine for all budgets. Everything we tasted was excellent, although their local steak was very expensive and a bit of a disappointment .More

When we arrived we were friendly welcomed and got to choose for a table outside or inside. We choose outside, were we sat in a cosy garden. The recommendation was to take the Portuguese tapas ‘surprise’ menu. So we did that and we had no...regrets. The food and wine came in different rounds and were just amazing. Only sometimes we had to wait a bit long for our next dish. The smoked cod was awesome, even as the sardines and the rest of the food. As a dessert we took the lava cake, which was also really delicious! This really is a hidden spot, but when you’re near you must visit it!More

Delicious food and great service. This wine bar is a hidden gem of portuguese culinary experience. This is a tapas and wine bar with great atmosphere and beautiful decor, original and typical. Average price of 20 euros per person, good value for money.

We were warmly welcomed by English-speaking waiters who helped us choose an inexpensive wine to accompany the food and then brought plate after plate to our table. The ambiance is delightful, a restored medieval era building in a restored medieval era community. We had a...delightful evening. One recommendation: Take a taxi, unless you're comfortable driving in really narrow cobblestone streets. Our driver, Mr Fernando, negotiated them easily, and the restaurant called him for us when we were ready to be picked up.More

We were recommended by our hotel to visit this wine bar! Our Sat Nav was hopeless but then it is located in the depths of a restored shale village! After asking four groups of people who looked amazed that we didn't already know the place...( it seems people travel miles to visit from Porto!), we thankfully found it at about 3.30 in the afternoon! We wanted lunch! It was empty but no less delightful. We were warmly welcomed by the English speaking staff and invited to look around. It is truly amazing and our photos do not do it justice. I suggest you check on line. The village itself is really interesting and well worth a walk around. Our host produced a mixed platter of traditional tapas for me ( truly gorgeous and not just because it was 4,'ish)and my husband had a steak sandwich which took some time coming but he relished. The accompanying chips were not needed it was so satisfying in itself. He drank small beers and I had a couple of glasses of white wine recommended by the waiter. All truly delicious. All in all it was a great experience and we are only sorry we were not staying longer on the vicinity. We would certainly go back. I can't remember the price but I remember we felt we had received value for money for the experience and the quality of the food and drinks. Would love to go back!More

The most eclectic place I’ve ever been! The staff were amazing with superb recommendations for both food and wine. The tapas was amazing knowing exactly what order to bring out the food

This place was recommended to us by the guest house we were staying in. This place is a little out of the way (at one point we thought we were lost) but is so worth visiting!! My husband, children and myself visited during our family...vacation. The ambiance of this place is fantastic and the food and wine is as well!! Couldn’t ask for better service.More

This wine bar was a gem, located in a gem of a preserved Portuguese village. Lovely, well priced local wine, knowledgeable staff (who spoke great English!), incredible interior design / setting, lovely patio. Highly recommend!

The restaurant is situated in a very beautiful place in a picturesque village with houses made of shale. The house where the restaurant is situated is very beautiful. The restaurant is warmly decorated and is mostly made of wood. We were a group of four...people and we went to the wine bar mid-afternoon for a snack. We chose a bottle of white wine, a juice for me and three plates of tapas for a snack. It was all delicious and at the right temperature. We paid 32€. I really want to come back and repeat this fantastic experience. I loved it. Ps.: in my photo is missing one of the dishes: the alheira with scrambled eggs. Delicious!!More
