Leisurely lunch at Riky’s today, very good food and exceptional service. Starters of scrambled eggs with prawn, mushroom and asparagus, another of grilled veg with anchovies. Mains: melt in the mouth beef cheek in wine and chocolate sauce, and black spaghetti with prawns. Mousse and...a simple but good cheese plate for desserts. Agata served us and was so friendly and professional, and all the staff seemed very attentive.More

Life saver when you need remote working : only place in Portbou where one can get reliable internet and some quiet ! Not to mention the excellent gazpacho or the beach view... The staff was very accommodating and multilingual. Highly recommended !

Well, Portbou is not Paris so this may not seem much of a compliment, but it is. We had been there twice. Once in the afternoon to enjoy the view of the bay and have drinks, we were impressed with the friendly service and came...for lunch the next time. We ordered Tapas, and being inexperienced, and impressed by the cheap prices we ordered much too much food. We were overwhelmed by the huge portions and by the quality. Everything was fresh made and tasted just fine. The service again was exceedingly friendly. A simple place but very satisfying. We planned to come back again for dinner but alas it came not to be,More

Wait, wait and see. Regular quality. Only for lossed tourists and outsiders. The fish has a lot of burned oil.

We were looking for paella for lunch and read glowing reviews in TripAdvisor about Rikys. It took quite awhile to get our lunch but the view and the wine meant that didn’t matter. Freshly made seafood paella was awesome. And a very friendly family run...business. Highly recommend Rikys.More

It is well worth walking past the other restaurants and going the extra 100yds to visit Rikys. Look out for the blue palisade fence. Excellent food, friendly quick service and attention to detail. We had a lovely lunch and highly recommend it.

We (2 adults, 3 children) had a very nice dinner at Riky’s restaurant. We tried different tapas before we moved to the mains and finished with deserts. Overall, the food was tasty and nicely presented. The service was also very friendly and efficient. If perhaps...somethings deserves mention it is the size of the tapas portions (or the lack thereof). Amongst others, we had ordered calamari and fried sardines which came in tiny bowls. Given the size of the bowls/portions some of the tapas were quite pricy (e.g., €10 for the fried sardines). The total bill was €170. This said, we would use Riky’s again not least because of its great location at the harbour of Portbou.More

We went here for lunch during summer vacation. Good service, nice view and good price quality on the Menu Riky. The paella was good and we got a nice glass of sangria to start with.

Having had tapas in Spain only a couple of times and being disappointed, I thought we would try again. Choosing Riky's after reading the TA reviews, I was glad we did. The tapas were really tasty, freshly cooked (not the case in other places I...have been) and generous portions. The waiter was so helpful I think he may be the owner. He spoke perfect English but politely indulged me with my orering in Spanish, I like to try! We were sat outside to enjoy the view but then the wind changed and it got chilly. He came out after a couple of minutes and invited us to take a window table inside. He really made us feel very welcome. Its about an hours drive but I look forward to returning when next in the area.More

As it was coming to the end of the summer season in Portbou we were lucky to find any restaurants still open however Riky's was. Like most it doesn't open until after 7 for dinner service but this is still earlier than most. At the...far end of the beach road, just before you get to the Port you'll find Bar Restaurant Riky with its original, amazing typography, 70's style signage, in brown and orange. You imagine nothing has changed since it first opened however it remains clean and well maintained. The staff and the owner Riky are young, warm and friendly and you will be pleased you chose this restaurant over the others passed along the same road. We arrived, two families with 3 children including a baby and were greeted like long lost friends - including baby talk and pretty good English by Riky himself. Nothing was too much to ask. We all chose from the 3-course, fixed price menu. I had steamed mussels, mixed paella, pudding with a glass of sangria all for €14. The food was honest and Riky's served good sized portions. It felt like the mussels had been fished fresh from the sea that day. All were delicious, there were child friendly options; penne with bolognese and small fried fish bits (calamari, sardines, squid etc). Nothing was too much to ask, they even adapted a paella to suit the husband allergic to mussels, clams and oysters. A lovely evening was provided by Riky, all to a great sound track of cool, retro cover versions from the bar and lapping waves on the rocks. And the kids walked away with lollipops.More
