The tea was nice, however inadvertently ordered a lot more food than I expected. The scones and bread were poor. Some of the cake slices were nice, while others were not. Total cost was 22 US. Expensive and average at best. Make sure you look...at the menu before ordering.More

My wife who is Welsh could not leave Patagonia without taking at least once tea and Welsh cakes. We chose to sample the fare at Trevelin in Nain Maggie where photos and documents charted the presence of the Welsh in the Chibut. The cost of...the tea was high (10$US per person ) but it was plentiful and it was impossible to consume all the cakes - custom is to take the remainder.Unfortunately for those who do not drink tea there is no alternative on offer.More

Took scones and tea in the afternoon. Lovely place full of small family units, including young couples enjoying classy home baked cakes and Welsh tea. Music was wonderful in the background - mix of Welsh classical and Meic Stevens’ gentle ballads. Summed up Trevelin perfectly...- friendly, classy, welcoming.More

The sweet and salty cakes of this place are amazing. It's not cheap but you save dinner because it has it all. You have to ordered the cream cake ... delicacy of the gods.

There's a massive Welsh community in Chubut province of Patagonia we had no idea about, so Welsh tea is a popular passtime in Welsh towns like Trevelin, Trelew and Gaiman. This gem is in Trevelin and they make a mean Welsh cake. It's decorated in...Welsh style with celtic music playing in the background. A must when visiting the area.More

The Freeman family emigrated from Wales to the United States in the late 1800s and then re-emigrated to Patagonia a little later. Their final migration was from the Atlantic coast of Welsh Patagonia to Cwm Hyfryd (The Beautiful Valley) in the Andes in the early...1990s. Their hotel, Hotel Perla, was the first Tea House in Trevelin and Nain Maggie is owned by the same family and stands on the adjacent plot. Named for Maggie Freeman de Jones, the Nain (Welsh for grandmother) of the then owner and great grandmother of the current owner. The tea is real tea, not from tea bags, and the cakes are all made on the premises. The flour for some of the bread comes organic wheat grown on the nearby farm of Agustin Lanusse and is ground in Mervyn Evans' mill on the road towards the Chilean border. The servings are so large that you shouldn't eat for a day or so before coming, and you probably won't be able to eat for a day or two after leaving. The muzak comes from a great collection of Welsh CDs and the shop sells some good quality souvenirs.More

The tea houses run in some Patagonian towns and villages by the descendants of the Welsh settlers are well worth a visit. This one here is a pleasant place where you can enjoy a tea accompanied by a nice and rich selection of cakes. Nothing...to die for as far as cake quality is concerned, especially if compared to the price (about 12 Euro or 17 US$ for the complete service), but after all it is a good option especially during a wet winter afternoon.More

as a result of the Welsh colonization there is the richest teahouses of Patagonia with their English knowledge with Argentinean twist. After tea you do not need dinner (lol) because the abundance of scones and cakes is superlative

We arrived for a tea with a couple of friends who knew the place. We did not expect this so good house at this small town. Every bite was unforgettable. The service was perfect and the staff were very kind. Being in this area, go...there.More
