Home to more than half a million residents, Uskudar on the Asian side of the Bosphorus is one of Istanbul’s most densely populated neighborhoods. Once a Greek colony, later a haven for people from across the Mediterranean and the Middle East, this gateway to Asia has been an active and diverse hub for eons. Still, visitors to Uskudar are often more overcome by its myriad treasures than by its many thousand residents. And with fairytale settings such as the “Maiden’s Tower” as well as grand examples of Ottoman Era architecture, plenty of parks, a gorgeous and lengthy coastline, and some of Turkey’s holiest sites, there’s no end to the sightseeing possibilities. Easily reached from the city’s European shores via a steady network of ferries, time spent in Uskudar reveals a “real life” Istanbul that many who experience find extremely fascinating.
Amazing place to spend few hours there for families. You can enjoy amazing view and have something to eat. The only comment have is the limitation of Resturant, no much options but the prices are very reasonable. Best time to go is a couple of hours before the sunset.
There's something about Kiz Kulesi that attracts you and calls you to it...just like the Bosphorus does :) I remember sitting there on the steps, sipping endless cups of tea just looking at the tower :)
Easy to park by and cheap to enter, this place is a peaceful haven and yet paradoxically beneath the hyper busy first Bosphorus bridge. The palace itself is accessible only by timed tours, in English or Turkish, which are slow enough to enable a good drink of the splendours inside. There are sublime beautifully planned moments of interior design, juxtaposed...
The Şakirin Mosque is a modern looking building which was opened in 2009. Located in Üsküdar right next to a graveyard this Mosque is definitely worth a visit. While the outside is very impressive the inside appears to be much simpler but quite elegant. This Mosque is very different compared to all the historical ones which makes it quite special....
"Great Meal overlooking the Bosphorus and Bridge View"
reviewed 1 week ago by Andrew M
Great restaurant with a clear view of the First Bridge overlooking the Bosphorus River on the Asian side of Istanbul.
My meal consisted of a Mexican Steak and Lamb Sish together with a Turkish Salard shared with friends together with Raki and beer. The food was well prepared and presented. The value was good at about 300 Turkish Lira.
Its a fine dining restaurant, located on the water front giving a beautiful view of the Bosphorus bridge while having your meal, in particular at night when the bridge is lit up.
The system is to choose your fish from the shelf and then customise your dish according to your taste.
An excellent place for sea-food lovers and strongly recommended.
We were a group of 10 and had the excellent range of appetizers (meze) that Tike is known for. Of special note are those with greenery. After relaxing over the starters and good wine, we ordered a mixed meat platter for the table and we couldn't finish eat. All good and all tasty, though I would suggest that some of...
We went for a coffee on a sunday morning. Their table organization is very suitable for families. Inside decoration is very nice. But before you go, make reservation
This hotel is right on the Bosporus and has stunning terrace and views. The rooms are ok but now in need of good face lift and better maintenance-
Would return but the owners should realise its short sighted not to invest in rooms standards.
Even though it was a one night stay at Bosphorus Palace Hotel on 23 June 2017...it was a night to live and remember ....the reception was friendly Mr. Yakan was at service all the time...they need to improve more as the cofeeshop is not alive and attendants are not ready to take orders ......No health club NO Gym and their...
If you need to be located iN Asian side, perfect to stay here. Very near from metro-bus station in Altunizade (easy 10´walk to the hotel´-15´with baggage). 1 hour distance to airport with metro + metro bus connection
"Very small Nice Hotel at the the heart of Anotlian part of Istanbul"
reviewed May 18, 2017 by Yetikkm M
Lovely small hotel at the heart of Istanbul Anatolian side. I visit he cafe under the hotel when I have to be around that area. There are mostly young local people, university students etc nice to watch them spending some quality time. Price range is very acceptable even cheaper than you would expect. Recommend if you would be around
A very clean and well presented hotel. The staff are very helpful and spoke good English. The breakfast was typically Turkish in style and was very enjoyable.. The gym was well kitted out and not very busy.
