Three handmade silk jib sails, created for the ‘Encounter 2002’ celebrations in Kingscote, are on display on the ceiling of the KI Gallery in Murray St. The sails were part of an event that marked 200 years since Matthew Flinders met Nicolas Baudin at Encounter Bay while they were both busily mapping the 'unknown coast' of Terra Australis. The three large silk sails were created, incorporating individual artworks of the island’s flora and fauna from KI children in years 3 and 4. (Quest57642653787, Mar 2019)
