- therichastillStevenage, United Kingdom3,319 contributionsNo Flying Elephants About ;)I did not realise that Dumbo is an acronym for the area - Down Under Manhattan Bridge Overpass. This would fit in with other areas of Manhattan such as TriBeCa. It's a nicely restored area of Brooklyn and there are plenty of cobbled streets and old warehouses that have been restored for new purposes such as flats, restaurants and bars. It's definitely an area of Brooklyn that needs to be explored if you have not visited the city before. There are some amazing views of the surrounding area to admire as well as places to sit and relax after a day walking around.Visited October 2023Traveled soloWritten November 13, 2023

Really enjoyed wondering around this cool, funky part of the world. Great views of the two bridges , lots of good bars and cafes and restaurants. Will sending be back to explore furtherVisited December 2023Traveled as a coupleWritten December 2, 2023
- Amy DMission, Texas1,052 contributionsDUMBOWe love coming here when visiting NYC. We have walked the Brooklyn Bridge from the Financial District area. We have also taken the ferry from Manhattan. We have also taken the subway. It's a cute and trendy place where we can stroll peacefully, take pictures of Manhattan skyline, have a bite to eat, sit and relax. There is an amazing rooftop at Timeout Market. We have only visited during the day. We're looking forward to returning at night so that we can view the Manhattan skyline.Visited March 2023Traveled with familyWritten December 3, 2023
- Michael M17 contributionsAtmosphericGreat feel to the place. Got the ferry from pier 83 and had a wander around the area. Lovely shops and nice happy feel around the whole area. The skyline with the broklyn and Manhattan bridges In the background is awsome. Really great feel after the intense crowds of lower Manhattan day beforeVisited February 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten February 5, 2024

- sharrongegHenderson, Nevada3,703 contributionsA “must do” in Brooklyn.Best views of Manhattan we have ever seen. Such a cool area. We walked around for a few hours and enjoyed ourselves. Best part was taking pictures of both the Manhattan Bridge and Brooklyn bridge around sunset. We felt quite safe, but realize - this place is crowded!Visited June 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten June 4, 2024

But beware ice cream van overcharging on cards - gave a single but charged triple. Lesson of always taking a receipt.Visited June 2024Traveled with familyWritten June 16, 2024
- Thomas VOakland, California17,757 contributionsWaterfront, Converted WarehousesThis used to be a waterfront and warehouse industrial area, dominated by 2 bridges. The port functions are gone, but the waterfront is still here, now lined with beautiful park areas that draw lots of tourists. You see them exit the subway station and then walk downhill to the parks. You will find Jane's Carousel and some good places to eat and drink, plus some warehouses converted to other uses.Visited August 2024Traveled as a coupleWritten September 10, 2024
