First of all, let it be said, that I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Silver Dollar City. However, I had not visited during the Christmas season before. We went on both December 27th, and the 29th, 2024. And it was extremely crowded. The lines to ride rides was extensive. So we just chose to enjoy the lights that first eve. On Sunday, the 29th, after adjusting our goals, we decided to make seeing shows our goal. The Christmas Carol performance is excellent. Try to arrive at least an hour in advance if you'd like to get in. Additionally, to avoid such heavy crowds, we were advised to come between November1st when the Season begins and Thanksgiving, before the kids are out of school. We were also told that weekdays are much less crowded. Having season tickets in 2024, we found all the other visits in May, August, and October to have very manageable crowds, and we had a wonderful time! Also, we recommend the refillable cups if you plan on going 3-4 times within the year. I am also a fan of the Tasting Passport which costs $35 for 5 food items. However, for the best values (as some portion sizes are not standard size), see the Facebook group, Saving Your Dollars at Silver Dollar City where a guide of the Tasting Passport can advise you to how to maximize your passport.

We've been to Dollywood a couple of years ago and Silver Dollar City is its sister park, so it was fitting to come here. It's an awesome park, with great staff, ambiance and charm. It's very clean and well organized, the coasters are unique and the setting is superb. The stars of the show are Outlaw Run, Time Traveler and Wildfire. Outlaw Run is unbelievable at night, it's one of my best night ride ever on a coaster. Powder Keg is fun and unique if a bit rough in some spots. Thunderation is very brutal and rough, it should be removed. There's lots of shade and trees which is a relief during the summer heat, which can be unbearable sometimes in Missouri. The food was delicious and fairly affordable, which is much better than your usual theme park fare. The underground Marvel Cave is unique and worth the wait & visit for any first timer here. The clientele is very well behaved and everyone is polite, it's probably the most polite and well behaved environment I've ever seen at a theme park; and I've been to many. On a final note, the park is very Christian and religious, we are not particularly religious but did not feel out of place or uncomfortable at all, but it's an aspect that might turn off some people. It did not bother us. If there's one negative item that I could note is the wifi and app for the park did not work well both days we were there and the park was not busy. This is a minor detail, but something that the park could look at for next season. I absolutely recommend the park, it's a top notch destination park.

Visited here on a weekday in March with 2 young kids (3,5). Parking is free and a tram will take you to front gate. We stayed mainly in the kid ride areas (grand exposition and fire station). The kids had a blast on the rides. Unfortunately we went on a very windy day (30-40 mph) so many of the rides in the park closed except for the few indoor rides and the kiddie rides so we didn’t experience much of what silver dollar city is about. The food we had was great (burger, pretzel, pizza, popcorn). All the staff was very friendly. Because of the weather shutting down many rides and experiences we did get a rain check good through the rest of the season-which was super nice and accommodating of them to do. When we’re back in the area we will definitely be back!

It’s amazing how this theme park elicits feelings of previous experiences, regardless of the time of year. Having visited many times over the past 50 or so years, it’s interesting to observe that some parts of SDC haven’t changed (like the crafts and charm) but others are totally different (like the rides —-and price of admission). The one feeling that resurfaced upon visiting the park again this time (at Christmastime) is the complete fascination with how they seem to draw huge crowds regardless of their prices of admission. It’s as if they can charge whatever price they want and not adversely impact the crowds. Even with extreme cold, the crowds were still there and apparently unaffected by the park’s shortened operating hours. Given all that, there are still issues with park management that one would expect to have been resolved by now. These issues, such as line management, poor or no parking lot lighting (a big deal this time of year), lack of signage for directing newbies, apparent staffing shortages (observed in some service areas), and parking. Overall, these didn’t drive off the crowds but did make for a personal experience again this time which makes one wonder how high the price of admission can go before the crowd even cares.

We had not been to SDC since COVID. In previous years SDC was known for "Come after 3, the next day free" I checked on the website and it did not say that was no longer in effect. So we went expecting "Go in after 3, next day free" That was not the case. In fact, we paid $500 for 1 day and 2 hours. Talk about the prices being expensive. We talked to Customer Service at the park and all they did was have us buy a two day pass. This month they are offering "Buy one day , get the next free" I sent an email to SDC and their response was "So sorry about all of that." Where did the idea of "making the customer happy"? They could have sent free passes, not saying that we will go back. So I just want everyone to know for one thing, There is no more "Go in after 3, get the next day free" ( not mentioned on the website) and that SDC is not customer friendly. In fact Customer Service at the park was very short. "Take it or leave it attitude" and the main Customer Service has a pat answer of "So sorry for your inconvenience" I read it in another review also. In conclusion, Dollywood was great!

Very busy the day we went and also a day that had the least open hours but it was also the only day that we could go. Arrived 2 hours early and got great parking. Trams were not running yet so we walked to the gate. We were hoping to do Marvel cave right away but they were not going to start tours until an hour after the gate opened. Fun to go while all the Christmas decorations were up. We did wait quite a long time for every ride we did; minimum wait was 45 minutes, we waited up to 90 minutes for one ride. We saw a few shows. The food we purchased was fresh, tasty, and not overpriced. I noticed on the rides that we had to wait a long time that they only had 1 coaster going where if they had multiple coasters going the wait would not have been so long. Very family friendly all around.

With this being our first trip to Branson, I was on the fence about going to an amusement park when there are so many other attractions. I am grateful that a deal on Tickets at Work convinced me to buy a 2 day pass to Silver Dollar City plus a 1 day pass to their water park, White Water. We filled every bit of the 3 days with experiences ranging from watching master craftsmen like glass blowers create beautiful items to riding great roller coasters. We also thoroughly enjoyed the various entertainers. I have to say what impressed me the most about this park is that they do an opening ceremony every day that consists of having veterans in the crowd raise Old Glory, then everyone recites the Pledge of Allegiance before singing the Star Spangled Banner. What a great way to recognize our service members and take a moment to appreciate our freedoms. I officially have a new favorite theme park!

Having been to SDC multiple times in the past, I was eager to return. There was pros, and there were cons. I'm a military veteran, and while I appreciate the single day discount, travelling to Branson to fully enjoy SDC requires more than one day, especially during a festival and kids who want to ride all the rides. To be able to extend the veteran discount to more than one day would really help veterans (especially any disabled veterans who take longer to get around the park) to fully enjoy the park. We went on a Sunday/Monday and while we thought Sunday was busy, Monday was even busier with school groups in attendance. I'll say as a huge fan of the old Fire in the Hole, I was disappointed with the remake. It felt rushed, and couldn't really hear the story being told. From someone who use to ride this ride over and over again, we only rode it once, especially after standing in line for over an hour. The Mystic Falls upgrade was AMAZING! We didn't expect to get as wet as we did the first day and were unprepared. We came prepared the next day and fully enjoyed this wonderful ride. Half the guns on the Flooded Mine didn't work, and there weren't enough guns for riders. The kids' favorite rides were Outlaw Run and Time Traveler, but Outlaw Run won because of the long wait for Time Traveler. When it came time to eat lunch on Monday, the places we visited were out of half the food we wanted and the kids had to go somewhere else for food. The app is great, and accurately reflects wait times, however, when trying to place a mobile food order, it glitched and crashed so we had to wait in line. All in all, a good experience, but with some disappointments along the way.

We hit the rides first and then went to see “Going Home for Christmas” musical that was fun and done by talented singers and dancers. The “Living Nativity” was also good. Only suggestion for SDC is to clearly mark each area of the park with signs, not juat what is in the next area. The map was very difficult to read without having a master list of the stores, rides, and venues in numeric order.

Amazing park! When you look at the map online it seems small but there is sooo much to do, you find out that 1 day is not enough. There are rides to cater to everyone. The shows are a must see. Be sure you check out the different festivals they have thoughout the season. If you live within a 3-4 hour radius of the park, I would recommend getting a season pass. It pays for itself within two visit.
