    Worth a visit for sure!
Lots to see inside- look carefully at all the displays above and below and inside drawers. Sitting area, nice gift shop and short trails out back. Several videos can be played upon demand. Good rainy day activity in Homer. I bought a membership so I could go in several times during my trip to Homer. Old homestead cabin on the premises. Check for times and dates open. Especially off season.

    Interesting place to visit
Such a mix of history and art about the Homer area. Some of the art was a bit different. But the history info was really great. Lots to learn about the local industry and the establishment of the city of Homer. Really neat old homestead house outside the museum that is worth being sure to visit.

    Worthwhile
Spent a couple hours here. Very interesting time. Take the tour of the cabin next door. Walked the hiking trail trail behind the museum and encountered mamma moose with 3 young ones behind her.

    Visit a Natural History Museum
Pratt Museum in Bartlett Street was built on land that was donated by Samuel Leon and Vega Anderson Pratt where they had a homestead. Homer is situated on the shores of Kachemak Bay on the Kenai Peninsula. Kachemak Bay is circled by mountains, glaciers, and active volcanoes. Homer suffered in the earthquake of 1964. The earthquake has been recorded as the 2nd most severe in the world. The museum has collections relating to history of the area, the anthropological finds and records, archives of historic pictures, sounds and maps, and a collection of specimens from around the Kachemak Bay and how they influenced the peoples of the area. Harrington Cabin just outside the main Pratt Museum building has been preserved as it would have been and offers glimpse into the lives of hard-working pioneers and homesteaders in the area. The cabin houses collection of hand tools, daily diaries, crochet work, and kitchen supplies. An oral history recording is available when not attended. Beside the homestead the garden displays local varieties of produce that once kept the early settlers with produce.
