    Really worth viewing
The castle is gorgeous. You can have a very nice view to the river from it. What isn’t worth is the entrance ticket for the cathedral - 22 plz per person, since it’s not so special inside. Another thing that’s overpriced is the entrance for the small cave through which you pass to the dragon - 9 plz per person. The dragon can be reached and seen without passing along this route.

Ticket system is nuts but beautiful sight to see
Well worth a visit but ticket system is nuts. You need to buy a ticket for each part separately so we did state rooms, treasuries, armouries and dragon cave. Was 198 pl for two people. Apparently a ticket for the entire place only available before 11. Took a good couple of hours but was plenty more to see so pretty sure a full day would be needed.

English speaking tour 'Image of the Golden Age' and free state room ticket (Oct 2023 only)
Amazing palace complex, interesting history and spectacular items. History made to come alive by the once daily English speaking tour 'Image of the Golden Age' (several times a day in Polish) for items temporarily loaned from around the world and relevant to Krakow and Poland. For the month of October this also included tickets for the state rooms - which with the audio guides (payable / English available) lead to a fascinating morning blessed by stunning blue skies and great photos! It is free to look around the grounds and this is worth doing even without tickets. Toilets in the grounds are free to use with your ticket (scanned automatically on way in) or 2PLN without tickets. DEFINITELY book before to avoid queues and as some tickets run out early and tickets can be scanned on your phones etc.

    Good views from here
Enjoyed a slow walk up the gentle slope to the castle. We went in the armoury and wandered around. Great city views. Inexpensive. Good starting point to see the river and get a sense of the town. Would have like to go in other areas hjt was short on time. Wasn’t overly busy.

    A must see destination!
I have been to Poland numerous times and have visited Wawel during every season. The view, the history and the energy are so positive, I could see it a hundred times and it will never get old. Take time to see everything at Wawel if you can. You won’t regret it!

    Unmissable
Majestic historical gem. Really enjoyed my time here and I spent around 5 hours total. I got the combined ticket for everything. Stand outs include the treasure room and residences. You can add the cathedral to extend the time. The dragon cave was pointless and the tower was just ok. Overall a very enjoyable experience. You can use your ticket multiple times for the toilet

    Great views of the area.
Visited the castle for the cultural history and surrounding views and we were not disappointed. Plenty to see and a nice little cafe within the grounds. The down side was having to pay for each section of the castle even the toilets if you never had a ticket. Lovely souvenirs in the shop at realistic prices.

    Beautiful castle
Beautiful castle. Lovely to look around. Was very busy with school trips so didn’t get to experience it how we imagined. Can imagine if you knew more about the families there this would be very interesting. It was a beautiful castle and would recommend but thought it would offer more than it did.

Beautiful castle above the city centre
Stopped off here as part of the walk by Citywalk. Located on top of a hill above the main city. Beautiful castle , with many different chapels of different designs for all the different kings that were buried here. Look out for the dragon bones that hang by the entrance , its believed that if they fall so will Krakow. Great views over the wall, which also look down on the fir breathing dragon of Krakow. Sadly didn't have time to go inside , but by the queues of people its a popular attraction.

    Awesome grounds
We didn’t have enough time to visit inside the castle and cathedral so we opted to tour the grounds and place this on our bucket list. The grounds are amazing and the big main square past the cathedral was amazing. The rain impacted some of touring, but what we saw was superb.
