    Appropriate for the Main Square
It’s the perfect building for a perfect main city square. I can’t find anything on the internet pertaining to horses, but the stalls on the ground level certainly look like the exact size of a typical horse stall. Today, each stall is used as a retail outlet. The internet says the original intent was to have a significant place to conduct foreign trade. It’s a very much, can’t miss it, structure.

    Good central location
Situated in the lovely main square in central Kracow this is a large indoor market. Lots of character and many stalls but goods on sale are mostly of a similar tourist nature - jewellery, toys, polish souvenirs etc. Reasonably priced but they prefer you to use cash rather than credit cards. Flat surface so good for prams, wheelchairs etc.

    Central Hall
Central shopping location in Old Town in a huge central square. It was a cloth and trade hall, but is now almost exclusively a tourist shopping hub along with some eateries as well. Good to see and walk through, but you'll get more out of it on a tour or reading ahead about it.

    Sukiennice
The Cloth Hall in Krakow is in the middle of the main square (Rynek Główny), and it ia an iconic building in the city. It dates back to the Renaissance period (late 15th to late 16th centuries). The building is very beautiful both from outside and from inside, although the inside is filled with stands selling just tourist stuff. A branch of the National Museum is on the top floor of the building (reviewed separately).

Great restaurant in a perfect location
Great restaurant in a popular location. Visited twice and had the chicken schnitzel both times, it was lovely. On our second visit finished our meal with an apple strudel and iced coffee. Highly recommended

A building preserving centuries of heritage. Cloth Hall Krakow - March 2024
The Cloth Hall in the main square of Krakow - a beautiful building that has a lot of architectural features of the baroque and renaissance - a UNESCO World Heritage site. It has an interesting history dating back to the 14th-15th century - it was the central market of the city where several goods were traded - not only "cloth" - but because of focus on fine textiles (silk among others) it got the name "Cloth Hall". (this is not as unique as it may seem "cloth" halls were to be found in other European cities , like Ypres or Leeds for instance). Nowadays on the bottom level there is market place with stalls - mainly trinkets and souvenirs - on the upper level there is an art gallery part of the Polish National museum - and you shall find at least 1 restaurant/bar on the first level. Overall a beautiful building, with a lot of history to it- a landmark of Krakow - definitely worth a visit and some pictures.
