Took a quick ferry ride from Paihia to Russell for the day. We took the Russell Mini bus tour. What a great way to learn about the history, interesting facts, and see a few of the great bays/lookouts of Russell. Our driver was excellent and very knowledgeable and interesting. Well worth the $ for a small business.

Sheryl was a great tour guide, so friendly and welcoming. She gave us so much information about the history of Russell. Hearing from a local was an added bonus as we got to know so much more about the Maori culture. We would definitely recommend doing the bus tour.

This was a great tour of Russell for first time visitors. Sheryl was an excellent driver/guide who really knew so much about the history of the area and told it in an engaging way.In unpleasant weather,it was great to be driven around rather than walk in the rain and by the time we finished the rain had cleared and we were able to explore some of the places we had driven past. What an awesome experience with Kelly driving around Russell for an hour learning it's history. Kelly was very knowledgeable about her hometown and how it came to be, learning about Waitangi was very rewarding, visiting the local cemetery you realize the huge losses family experienced moving to NZ and making their lives here. Yummy restaurants and local gift shops, ice cream, gorgeous weather, no complaints from me, I'll be back again.

What a lovely seaside town! Shane took our group of 14 on a private tour of Russell. He shared his abundant knowledge of its history and took us atop Flagstaff Hill for an amazing 360 degree view. We learned a lot about the goings on of New Zealand’s first capital in the 1800s, and of the Māori people. Shane is an avid educator and conservationist, and it’s very clear he loves what he does. Highly recommended!
