The National Center for Civil and Human Rights in downtown Atlanta is an engaging cultural attraction that connects The American Civil Rights Movement to today's Global Human Rights Movements. Founded in 1926, the Atlanta History Center is an all-inclusive thirty-three-acre destination featuring the Atlanta History Museum, one of the Southeast's largest history museums; three historic houses, including the 1928 Swan House; the Kenan Research Center; the Grand Overlook event space; a museum shop and acres of historic gardens and trails. In addition, the History Center operates the Margaret Mitchell House.
