SoHo Hotels

Once the artistic hub of New York City, SoHo (South of Houston) is now one of the premiere shopping destinations in the world. Housing everything from the most popular luxury brands to swank boutiques you won’t find anywhere else, this is a sophisticated shopper’s dream come true. Broadway teems with big-name stores and people during the day, while Prince and Spring Streets are the other main drags to explore by foot. Take a detour down the quieter side streets to see the real star of the district –majestic cast-iron architecture everywhere you look. What were once warehouses and art studios are now meticulously restored loft buildings favored by many of New York’s celebrities, making SoHo one of the trendiest addresses in the city. The pretty streets of Nolita (North of Little Italy) offer a more sedate vibe, with plenty of tiny boutiques and hip restaurants to seek out.

    Fashion Fashion
I spend a couple of hours walking around here over a couple of days. This is ground zero for high fashion shopping, and there were fashion shoots on the streets. The architecture is unique, lots of old industrial lofts that have been transformed years ago. Some good places to eat and drink. Fashion.

    Nice Area
I thought that SoHo in New York was just the name of the area similar to Soho in London. I did not realise that it was because it is the area South of Houston Street. I then discovered there is NoHo. The areas south of Midtown are some of the trendier areas of the city. SoHo falls into this category. Canal Street is here and this is a place to get clothes or other items that may not be official. There are some cool shops, bars and restaurants as well as some great street art. Well worth exploring.

    Quirky unique hotel
Once additional payment sorted out which we weren’t made aware of when booking with the travel agent in the uk we had a great stay in this quirky hotel with lots of character. The room was small but we found room for everything for our 5 night stay. It was clean and nice and quiet with a lovely comfortable bed. Lots of electrical points for our iPhones iPads etc and the shower was great with the complimentary soap shower gel shampoo and conditioner which I have looked to purchase since as it smelt so good! Good location for exploring all of New York with a couple of subway stations within 5 minutes walk. Saying that we walked to Brooklyn over the Manhattan bridge and back over the Brooklyn bridge and into the financial district. Staff very friendly and helpful and nothing was too much of a problem. Would definitely stay there again if we have to opportunity to visit New York.

    Loved soho
My favourite neighbourhood in New York City, it was more laid back, friendly and a lot less busy than Times Square and the surrounding area. Great for more unique independent coffee shops and restaurants which I think gives you the true New York experience rather than chain brands. It gives major friends vibes around the area and a lot cleaner and nicer

    Worth a walk around
SoHo consists of quite a number of high-end shops. We visited on a guided walking tour and the tour guide said one can pay approx. $700 for a cotton Tshirt here. Apparently, a number of shops are not making a profit, but it is good marketing to have a store front in SoHo. The architecture of the buildings in this area is also quite interesting. I’d recommend taking the walking tour to get a better understanding of what you are looking at in SoHo.

  • Midtown Hotels
This is the iconic New York that so many visitors imagine before they visit—spectacular skyscrapers like the Chrysler Building and Empire State Building, iconic public buildings like Grand Central Terminal and the New York Public Library, and the non-stop hustle and bustle of the city streets. Fifth Avenue is a shopper's heaven where you can find every kind of store imaginable, with fashion brands ranging from the affordable to the ultra-fancy. Visit the Rockefeller Center to experience towering Art Deco grandeur, and foodies will love the busy restaurants that stay open late in Koreatown. After dark, Midtown calms down a bit, but at any time of day or night it still feels 100% New York.
