pros: 1. The garden is lovely, surrounded by beautiful floras and the sound the birds and the bees will truly relax you. 2. Food is good, value for money. 3. Elmer and Manuel(the all-around-guys) are great hosts and took care of us well while we were there. 4. Pool is small but has it's charms, though not good for night swimming since it's not well lighted. 5. Overall - the place has a very relaxing vibes. A great escape from the hustle and bustle of the city. 6.Good reliable wifi signal at the restaurant - if you wanna squeeze in a bit of work while there. 7. I love the garden! cons: 1. Too far from the main road. Rough road and too dark (scary) at night. 2. Had a hard time coordinating with them - I have to email/call them several times, back and forth just to get the QR pass for us to enter Bantayan Island- not proactive in reaching out to booked guest. This was a ‘turn off’. 3. Room not too clean, smells old. Facilities are old and not properly maintained. DON'T USE THE SHAMPOO OR BODY WASH FROM THEIR DISPENSERS IN THE SHOWER - what's in them looks expired and stale that the water has separated from the whole substance that settled at the bottom of the dispenser..yikes. Aircon leaked and flooded our veranda. Faucet leaked too. 4. the air-conditioning in our room isn't cool enough 5. the beach view obstructed by a fence - the property could’ve done without it. IT'LL MAKE A HUGE DIFFERENCE IF THEY JUST TAKE OUT THE FENCE. 6. Property needs more lighting at night especially near(and in) the pool.

We booked a weekend in this resort, based on info from Agoda and the (German) website. (14-16 June). Our enthousiasm went down quickly after arrival. This is a 'nothing to do' resort. Cottages look great at the outside. Inside you go back into a motel in the early 60's. Beach resort without beach. At low tide there is a kind of beach but definitely not challenging for a swim, coz no water for the next 50-100 meters. High tide, no beach at all and 30 cm water. Facilities? Hardly any. Internet, no? Just a painful SmartBro in the restaurant. Bar? Closed, coz of broken fridge, they said. Great! Fix it then! The room? Knowing that the 'facilities' close between 8 and 9 it would be nice to have a mini fridge and a watercooker available so customers can provide themselves a bit. On the website it says TV, DVD, Wifi, Videoke. Nothing is there! This resort, they said, was one of the best on the island. I can hardly believe that.  For us, it was a waste of time and money. I surely missed the 'deutsche Gründlichkeit' here. Anything positve? Sure. The few crew members were friendly. Food in the restaurant was simple but good. Fair prices.

Our stay has been wonderfull. The place is very clean and has beautiful gardens. The pool area is very confortable and many seatings with shade. They have also a free shuttle service. Breakfast was also included. There is also a pool table. Parking space. Ideal to relax. But if you want to move around and have your own independence you need to rent a motorbike. The staff are really nice and helpfull. Regarding the “beach” write in front, and the rest of the beaches in Bantayan they move with the tide’s so depending how the moon is, you will need to wait until afternoon to be able to enjoy it.

We stopped at Maias Beach Resort to have some lunch. It was one of the best restaurants I visited on Bantayan. You have to try the breaded shrimps (: We didn't stay overnight so I can't talk about the lodges, but the resort is really beautiful and clean.

Very very nice garden. Most times quiet peacefull (if no party at the village near by). Very friendly owner and crew and not expensive. Even the food is very nice. But no beach to swimm and far from the city. We appriciate the social investment from this resort for the poor people in ther village a lot!!

If you are a type of person that likes to be secluded with the crowd, then this place is for you. Maia’s resort is far from the crowded Sta Fe beach. You can go there but its a bit pricey. A van would cost 500 and habal is 350. I would recommend habal if you are solo and is not scared of riding bike without helmet. I enjoyed my solo time here because I am literally just their guest. I hope the management would improve their restobar service because almost all the dish (seafoods) are not available. Also, the wifi is super slow. Pro: you can really get away from checking your phne from time to time and just enjoy relaxing. Con: If you have urgent emails or online calls, you wont be able to do it.

Rooms ok, there was no beach, just a muddy and dirty water. The pictures were "lying both about beach and the size of the pool. They also say "restaurants", only one restaurant with a very limited menu. The bar by the water was not open. No other places to go for food or a drink in the nighborhood. If going to Santa Fe, have to order privat car and drive for 35 minutes. Staff was nice, even if we dont want to stay. We transfered to a resort in Santa Fe even if they refused to give us the prepayd money back. Better to loose 10000 + than staying in this resort. Going to Bantayan, stay in the city of Santa Fe, its so nice there😊

Maia's was an absolute gem that I stumbled upon. My travels were not going well until I was greeted by Klaus and Felomina the owners. They showed me around the resort and they put in alot of hard work and made the place a work of art! The room was quaint and clean and very cozy. The Mango chicken curry was enjoyed twice. The breakfast was fabulous to! Hats off to Elmo who took care of all my needs, what a fabulous young man.Resort was 15 min to Santa Fe and easily accessible by a scooter was was for hire at the resort for 250PHP a day. My 2 days was not nearly enough and I'll definitely be back.Thank you for your hospitality. Regards Bryan

Maia is located between Bantayan and Santa Fe. It's not easy to find as you'll have to ride for a few km in a small road. But the fact that it's a bit far from everything makes it more special. The place is super quiet and absolutely beautiful. The staff is extremely kind and helpful. Wifi is bad (but that very common in the PHI). Food turned out to be perfect (best Mango shake).
