Dear Karishma Ramlochan, Manager & Finance, Palms Hotel, Quatre Borne For the umpteenth time, can you please provide me with a status update on my refund? I never for once imagined that I will have to deal with such degree of unprofessionalism. I fail to understand the fun that you people take out of making people beg for their hard-earned money. Just to refresh your memory, please find the timeline of events in the pic below, from the unfortunate moment I booked with you to date. Due to the COVID-19 restrictions imposed by the Mauritian government, I am currently unable to fly back to Mauritius. I have on 2 occasions booked my travel package via the MTPA Online Reservation Platform but due to the travel ban on South Africans being extended, I have had to cancel both times. Although my first cancellation with Sealife Resort & Spa went smoothly and the full 30% deposit amount was refunded to me, my second one with Palms Hotel is proving to be an uphill battle. If today I am reaching out to you, it is because I have used all my other options but to no avail. Since the 25th of January 2021, the personnel of Palms Hotel have been taking me for a ride. It's been not weeks, but months, several months since i am waiting on false promises and hope that the management of Palms Hotel would refund me, as promised, only to be repeatedly met with further prolonging, lack of communication for weeks and endless excuses by the staff and management (Vimla Bhikeea, Ourvashi Mungur and Karishma Ramlochan) of Palms Hotel.  All this time, I have done nothing but beg the management to refund me my hard-earned money and this is beginning to take a toll on my mental health. Once again, I beg of you, please give me my refund and provide me with a turnaround time for it. Whether it will take a week, a month, a year or a decade, at least provide me with one which you are going to honour. Thanks & Kind Regards Ms. K. Sonny

As in all hotels, it’s luck what troubles you get in your hotel room when they are old. There were 11 of us spread across different floors in the hotel. Those on level 4 slept with cockroaches, young and old. I was lucky not to have them but was told they don’t fly. A few cockroaches is enough to send some people screaming. On other levels, we have a variety of other problems. Broken items include: Door latch, shower screen handle, TV, lights etc. Basin drain was clogged in one bathroom. Bed is comfortable. Breakfast on the top floor was mediocre but with spectacular views. For some people, food is interesting. I would prefer more vegetables and fruits but it’s ok. They served oats porridge one morning without appropriate bowls and utensils. You can also order eggs from the kitchen. Their choice of music can be more neutral though I’m not bothered by it. I just find it strange. If you walk out of the hotel, Turn Left, and you will find an open market 5 min walk away. They mainly sell clothes and few other Knick knacks. On the right, there are a few stalls offering local foods.

I was there for Kryolan workshop. The conference room was very comfortable and spacious. Food was excellent and of course Anila was very charming with her service. All participants enjoyed their time. Thank you team!

Very bad experience. Rooms are not well maintained, TV was not working, no plug points etc.. worst WiFi service I have ever seen. Food is pathetic. Only savior is the courteous staff. If you have a choice, avoid this hotel. No value for the money you pay

The purpose of our travel was for business. THe expectation was for standard quality accomodation (not luxury), cleanliness and a simple buffet breakfast. The quality of the accomodation was poor. The bath towels were old and reeked of industrial bleach. The cable TV was not working in my romm (508). There was no soaps placed in my room on the second night and the shower had a sever leak. When we arrived at breakfast at 7am, the staff had not yet set up for breakfast. The quality of the food provided was sub-standard and not great. I picked up food poinsoning from eating breakfast there on my second day. I would not recommend this hotel.
