Rakdell is located in the heart of the capital town of the island of howling winds, Catanduanes. It has a distinctly Southeast Asian & Hawaiian feel. It offers access to nearby attractions, resorts, dining, socio-cultural activities, vibrant night life and the likes. Rakdell takes pride of its modern four-storey building with 42 Rooms that stands in the center of Virac. Owned and operated by the late businessman & contractor Rafael Rodulfo and family since 2004. At Rakdell, you are home away from home.

Detailed Reviews
The place is so clean despite it's low price budget. The coffee shop is so cool with their bibingka and coffee.. nice place.
I also find the place to be safe with a lot of friendly people... with a lot of foreigner living in the place.

The RakDell Inn is a neat little budget priced hotel sitting at the foot of the San Miguel mountains in the largest city of the Catanduanes, Virac.
A small reception nook under the main staircase greets guests in the 4-storey building that has standard furnishings. Our 3 person Executive room was originally priced at over 1500 Peso but we were able to bring it down to about 1250. Our room was large & easily accommodated 3 people via 2 queen beds, other standards were aircon, balcony, hot water, sitting toilet, closet, dresser, phone, 51cm TV with cable & orange curtins!. Special mention is given to the very ordinary thin foam mattresses which did harm to my pampered back.
There is a karaoke place somewhere near the hotel & as Filo’s do, they love to sing, unfortunately the few takers who entertained the whole block all night weren’t very good, lucky for them they were out of sight & anonymous.
There is a top floor restaurant with a wide balcony area for smaller tables that faces the San Miguel mountains which make a great place to wash down a few beers of the same name. The restaurant has no tap beer & doesn’t sell spirits unless u buy the whole bottle, not much of an Inn really.
The RakDell is located close to the airport & is also just off the corner of the city centre & not more than 100 metres from the shore of the town waterfront but the black grainy sand probably wont do much to help u relax, head elsewhere. San Andres Port that runs ferries to the mainland city of Batac is less than an hour away.

Virac is not a lovely town but as the largest town on the pretty island of Catanduanes, it makes the best base whilst exploring the southern coast.
Rakdell Inn provides a clean, comfortable base whilst staying in town. It is well about average for a hotel in this price range, offering an excellent roof-top restaurant with a wide and varied menu, friendly, amenable service and spacious, clean rooms. The one downpoint for us was the mattresses, which were far from firm and gave us a bit of a backache. We were able to bargain down the cost of the room substantially, which is worth bearing in mind.

If you are not on a business trip where you will be forced to stay in Rakdell Hotel like me where I was invited to conduct a lecture, I would not recommend Rakdell Hotel. While its accessible to Jollibee and some restaurants, the pillows stink, the bed in a single room is enough for children, blanket is small, water in the shower is murky coming from deepwell. The restaurant staff, except for some waiters, are not at all friendly. The front desk staff except for one, is not friendly at all. Your laundry will have to be brought to the owners and delivered three days after. The housekeepers dont automatically clean up your room unless you request for it. TV is analogue and very small. The bar across the hotel is very loud till the wee hours of the morning. Thanks for the typhoon. For days it was quiet except for the howling of the wind. I will not stay here for a vacation. I would rather check in at the The Twin Rocks resort which is beautiful .

Me and my buddy arrived Virac via sea travel from Caramoan, camsur, its more or less 1.5 hour by boat,we stay at Rakdell Inn since its located at the town center, for tourist like us from manila,i suggest its better to stay at a place where police visibility is high for safety reasons, and also its convenient to eat at some good reataurant near the seafront. This hotel is considered a ordinary small town hotel, with its price one cant expect too much, you should bring your own toiletry like towel etc.cause hotel does not provide for you.Virac itself doesnt attract too much traveler due to its isolation and lack of attraction, you might get stranded if typhoon hit the place,as there is no big establisement like SM or even Jollibee yet,its an island still waiting to be develop and explore.

+1
During our stay on Virac, Catanduanes, we visited the old Bato Church, chilled in Twin Rock Beach, side trip to Maribina Falls and have a whole day island hoping in the untamed Caramoan Islands. It was a fun tour especially if you want to unwind from the busy city life. It’s just a 5 minute walk from ferry port to Rakdell. The hotel has a restaurant and a bar on the 4th floor. They offer catering services and we passed by an on-going event during our stay. Food was delicious. Staff are friendly. We stayed in a Royal Twin Bed Room.

The hotel is located 50 meters away from the center of the municipality. Been staying here for business travels since 2005. It's a basic and comfortable hotel for its location. Also good for backpacking.

I have stayed at this hotel for a couple of nights for the last 3 years. Although I have no real complaint the hotel is showing signs of wear and could do with a cost of paint here and there. Still I will stay there again next year when I return to Virac

We stayed here one night and enjoyed. it is RIGHT IN TOWN. Rooms were neat and clean. Front desk service was excellent. Cheap. Has a music bar across the street - can be heard, but I didn't mind. We would definitely stay there again!

This simple hotel is I think comparable to other hotels in Virac. The room is suitable for couple with children. Hot and cold shower is available. The staffs are warm and friendly. However, the hotel's bistro opens at 6AM, hence we are not able to each our breakfast before going to the airport.
