Firstly, I arrived at 11am. I advised my name, date of my confirmation email after booking via their website December last year, date (10 Jan.) I paid the full amount to the hotel's bank account with copy of receipt. The receptionist asked for further evidence of my booking. I advised that I have provided the evidence and asked do you have my booking in your system or not. I'm then advised that my booking is in the system. I'm thinking then why are you wasting my time. Secondly, this hotel strictly follows their no check in before 2pm rule. No problem with that. Reception looked after my suitcase. I returned at 1.30pm, sat and waited. At 2pm I was requested to fill out the check in form and provide ID. I was provided with my security card, info letter, wifi details, breakfast coupons and shown to my room. My double bed room was modern looking, clean and compact. Wardrobe with hanging space, shelving, shelf and chair. The aircon was efficient. The large size TV had cable channels but the picture quality was poor (snowy). Lighting was good. The bathroom was a very compact wet room. A sign states the rain shower is cold water only. The phone pad size nozzle dispenses hot water. Water pressure was okay. The breakfast buffet has a few options but I found them not warm enough. I was disappointed having booked around two months in advance and prepaid six weeks in advance that I was allocated what was probably their worst room ie opposite the stairwell (echo chamber) and next to a room where staff congregate talking loudly and using walkie talkie. I was woken up each morning by the noise level. Numerous short brownouts were experienced each day but this is a problem everyone in town shares. I had one small cockroach and one large one (died) in my room. Internet can be unreliable. A shuttle service is offered if your coming/going to Virac airport or Tabaco (boat).

We stayed in this hotel during the familiarization tour and I must say that the hotel is not that huge but its well maintained and the hotel rooms are clean. The buffett breakfast has limited selection but its good.

I have to say that this hotel is pretty good. I occupied a single room, which was small, but was clean and set up real nice. It does make you feel that you are in a hotel. Didn’t feel like a budget hotel at all. Complete linens, a small corner desk, tv w working cable and a small en suite. It is the tallest structure in the vicinity, with an all Around view of the town on the 6th floor where two pools are for guests to enjoy up until 9pm. They have a bar/resto open til 10pm. The room comes w basic breakfast. DONT CHOOSE THE TAWILIS. Way to small an amount and basically just fried salty fishbones. Order the bangus or something else instead. The kitchen staff took a while to prepare the meals even when there were very few orders, some got understandably impatient. Apart from that, all the staff were very polite and helpful when they can, especially at the front desk. It is very near the airport and they have a shuttle service (my only issue is that you have to wait for other schmucks who wait till the very last minute to get to the van as if they will pay for your tickets if you get late for your flight! I recommend they advise guests to get in the van 1hr before the actual flight time and leave everyone behind if they’re not there! 5 mins more and I the PAL gates would’ve closed!). I would choose this still very new hotel again If ever I go back. Highly recommended in this area.

Hallways have cockroaches running. Bar & Cafe closes at 10pm, last order is 8pm. 2 hours before 10pm is the last time to order. Not very accomodating frontdesk. When we checked-in, we asked if there is a bigger room to accomodate an extra bed for our kids. They said none. When we asked again after few hours to checj if there is a room that can accomodate an extra bed, they said yes they have. Food is ok, but you need to tell it again again to the crew because they tend to forget. They don't accomodate early airport transport, they charge extra if you want to go early to the airport. Please choose a different hotel.

The hotel was booked by my friend who lives in Catanduanes so we didn't know what exactly to expect. The reception was warm. We were in a room the first night, where the a/c was leaking. We woke up to water all over the floor. The management was very prompt at dealing with the issue. They sent someone to clean the floor and moved us rooms immediately. The second room was great. The hotel is very clean and comfortable, though the rooms are small by western standards. The shower pressure in the bathroom was very low. Pool was very small - we didn't use it. I would say the service at reception, housekeeping and the doorman were excellent. The restaurant staff were very good as well. I found the preparation of the food in the restaurant was a bit slow, but the food was worth waiting for - delicious every time. I would definitely recommend this hotel. Staff were friendly, professional, warm and welcoming. Close to the cathedral and shopping.

Shout out to Ms. Sharmaign that assisted us for booking our stay here at Lucky hotel and resort. Since we are stranded at Puraran Beach because of no transportation due to Good Friday we ask her if they can arrange a shuttle service from Puraran beach to the hotel in Virac and their supervisor agreed. Nice hotel and great staff

lucky hotel is the best choice if you are visiting virac. good points are, it's relatively cheap, spacious, location is good, they provide airport transfer, bed is good. bad points, there were tiny roaches in the shower, the towels did not smell good, the aircon needs cleaning. the reason for low rating is because we weren't satisfied with the tour. instead of going for the P3,500 tour from an offer outside of the hotel, i chose the tour from the hotel which was P5000 expecting i would get better and professional service. We went to Virac just to see Binurong Point. The tour included stopovers at the weather station, balacay point, the surfing capital beach and binurong for sunset. i was asking the tour guide if bacalay was a long walk, she said we will go to abihao point instead and it was accessible by the van. so i said ok. although abihao was beautiful, it wasn't our purpose for the trip. by the time we came out of abihao, it was already late and we were all already tired. the tour guide should have managed the time better and she should have advise us to save our energy for binurong. she knew we were traveling with kids. locals at abihao were more concerned for us when we told them we were planning to go to binurong next. also, during the whole trip in the van, our two tour guides were busy naghaharutan. very unprofessional. they just kept quiet when we complained about the trip. they didn't even apologized. we got an apology from the receptionist and from a text message from lucky the next day. actually, those 2 tour guides weren't even necessary in the tour. just hire a driver because there will be local professional and passionate tour guides when you get to the destinations. did i get the value for P5,000. definitely not. very disappointed. very frustrated. sad thing is we might not be able to go back to Virac to visit Binurong anymore because we have a long list of travel destinations in the next years. fyi, we travel the world so we know exactly what kind of service to expect from tours. to lucky hotel, please find passionate people to work for you. passionate for their jobs and passionate for Virac. thank you.

Relatively new hotel with basic amenities and facilities. It’s a good choice if you are looking for a cozy hotel in Virac Catanduanes. The rooms are comfortable and clean and I love the food in this hotel.

The owner is behaving arrogant, authoritarian, unwelcoming and inflexible. In the thousands of hotel rooms I stayed, the small rooms in Luck Hotel have the most crazy lay out I've ever seen. The shower (only made for small people) is blocking the sea view, giving you a claustrophobic feeling. Only unlucky people have to stay there.
