We just got back from an Amazing trip to Belize. We stayed 3 nights at the Mariposa jungle lodge as part of the jungle and sea package.Right from our arrival till our departure, we were exceptionally cared for by the staff. The property is in a remote place and offers a very quiet and peaceful set up. The cabins are very clean and spacious. We stayed in the Toucan casita. There are nature trails within the property that you can go on for short hikes. Besides, there is also a bird tower for bird watchers and a yoga deck. The property also has a well kept swimming pool. The highlight of this place besides the property, is their staff. Such exceptional service and care. They go over and beyond to ensure you have a very pleasant stay and accommodate your preferences. The food by Chef Norma is delicious, nutritious, and so fresh! Special shout out to Robbie, and Cevilla for making us feel so special. These two folks manage the restaurant and bar, and charmed us with their friendly nature and service. The office manager Gladimir was also extremely helpful in getting our day trips to Caracol and Barton Creek organized. The full day trip to Caracol, Rio Frio caves, and Big rock waterfall was very well organized with packed lunches, water bottles, and towels for the day. Our tour guides Augusto and Damien need a special mention for giving us an enriching tour experience to Caracol and Barton Creek. They both are a treasure trove of information and we had some delightful conversations with them while on the day tours. Super friendly staff, great property and amazing food....will surely recommend this place. Thank you once again for a truly memorable experience! Can't wait to come again.…
The cabanas are beautifully furnished and the beds very comfy. We stayed in Jaguar King room which was much bigger than any of the other lodges we stayed in. AC worked well and it was clean and tidy . But what impressed us most of all was the staff at Mariposa. Josh and ROsa and Seville, were absolutely fabulous. They even arranged a mini fridge for our room as I had goods that needed refrigeration and over all the service was fantastic. The only improvement on the rooms is the pillows are too hard for me personally - I like a soft pillow. We had a lovely 3 course dinner which was delicious and breakfast the next morning was lovely too. nothing was too much trouble for these three staff members and based on their service alone we will be back. the lodge also has a lovely crisp clean pool and some games to keep you entertained. all together a wonderful experience in Belize. we loved it there …
The place is super clalm in the middle of the forest and Mayan history! The staff are so friendly and helpful. This place has some magic in it, you can't not relax when you are there! The environment, the cabanas, the vibes, even the people give you this feeling of being home. We came with 4 kids and they loved and enjoyed the place and the beautiful activities around it. The food is also great and chef Norma had excellent recipes. I think the slogan the ressort uses "adventures in the day, comfort in the night" is very accurate and represents well the place.
We stayed in November 2022. 8 adults and two kids. The staff and service were amazing! Everyone went out of their way to be friendly and accommodating. When the weather didn’t cooperate they offered alternative activities and quickly organized it for our group. The food was delicious and we even had a few extra touches for the birthdays we celebrated. I hope to be back soon!
This was a highlight for our family on our trip to Belize. The staff is super friendly, food is excellent and location can't be beat. You'll feel close to nature so expect to hear a lot of wildlife throughout the day and at night. It's not for everyone, but if you like being in nature and want high quality accomodations this is a really great option.
This hotel made our experience in Belize. We stayed on the beach for the first few nights of our trip but the second half at Mariposa in the jungle was what solidified our experience as once in a lifetime. Everything about the resort is wonderful- the staff and management are beyond helpful from reserving rooms to booking excursions to accommodating dietary and lifestyle choices. The chef made the most delicious vegan meals I found during our stay in the country. The only thing as impressive as the staff were the grounds. The native jungle plants were absolutely STUNNING. I could have spent our whole stay wandering the trails and admiring the gorgeous landscaping. The only issue we had was running out of time to do everything we wanted to do. Truly, everything was perfect. We will be back.…
We stayed three nights at the resort and enjoyed it immensely. The staff was very attentive, friendly and organized. Robbie was a wonderful friendly host in the restaurant and bar. The meals were very delicious and well presented. The local fruits were so fresh and tasty. The grounds were very well kept and we enjoyed the pool and yoga platform. The Orchid cabana we stayed in was well equipped, clean and nicely appointed. The screened in porch was especially enjoyed. A keel-billedToucan even flew up next to us. Gladimir organized our excursions to Caracol Maya ruins and Barton Creek Cave as well as transportation to and from Belize City. All went off without a hitch. The tours were very educational and interesting. All in all a wonderful visit to the Belizean jungle.
I spent 3 nights at Mariposa with a group of friends and would have loved to stay longer. I would definitely come back again and would highly recommend it to anyone. All of the staff were so kind, the food and drinks were delicious, and the cabanas were spotless. I especially enjoyed the yoga deck surrounded by jungle vegetation and the bird watching tower - so beautiful and peaceful!! The excursion to Caricol is also well worth the time. Our guide, Augusto, was very knowledgeable about the archaeology and the birds and wildlife in the area. I enjoyed everything about it!! Thank you so much to Gladimir, Norma, Robelvi, Rosa, Civilla, Josh, Luis, Eddy, Vicente & Maritza for taking such good care of us!
In short, this is an amazing little property! We had a group of 7 (adults) that reserved the Jungle/Bneach package in tandem with the Xanadu Resort on Ambergris Caye. Mariposa has only 9 casitas. We took 4 of them. We had the resort to ourselves and it was fantastic. Glad, the manager, welcomed us to the resort and made feel completely at home. Robby, the bartender, server and great host offered fantastic FRESH Watermelon, Pineapple or Hibiscus Mojitos. Our casitas are comfortable and unbelievably clean. Our package included a trip to the Mayan Ruins - Caracol. Our guide Agusto was a wealth of knowledge. The trip included hiking into caves, seeing howler monkeys and all kinds of birds. A must do trip. Just a few minutes from the resort is a Butterfly and Hummingbird garden - also a don't miss. They go through 8 lbs. of sugar a day just feeding the hummingbirds. Fantastic. But I would be remiss not to include Norma & Civilla - They run the kitchen. The food is wonderful, creative and totally worth the trip. On our trip back, we all agreed - WE MISS NORMA!! Thanks to the rest of the staff - Rosa, Luis, Eddy, Vicente & Maritza…
Beautiful setting, wonderful staff, delicious food prepared by expert chef Norma. Couldn’t ask for more. Accommodations very comfortable. Staff arranged our day trips. Tikal trip fantastic and our taxi driver Alex and Rubin our Tikal maestro guide, were extremely kind and friendly. We learned a great deal of the wonderful Mayan history and people of today. The Mujeres Coop is a must visit as well to learn more cultural information. Come learn, relax and take in the beauty of this area and the generosity of its people. Thank you to the entire staff at Mariposa Jungle Lodge!
