Great location if you like remote and walking. Rooms are great, having recently been refurbished. It's a noisy hotel though, the walls are very thin. Anthula is lovely. Rooms are 'made' every couple of days, but they're not cleaned. The bins are emptied and sheets folded but nothing else. Cups left, sink, shower and floor not washed. The breakfast isn't continental, but it's ok. Literally bread, jam, cheese, ham, tomatoes, cucumber and boiled eggs. Cereals. No toast. If you want more than one hot drink, you'll have to pay. There are other breakfast items, such as omelette, but you'll have to pay. Pool is more than adequate. Pool bar is OK. Opening times state 11 til 5, but generally later in season, more like 12 til 4. Free minibus throughout the day down the hill and back, but donations encouraged.

Just had 10 days at this lovely hotel. Fantastic views, our room was at the front so we had a panoramic view of the mountains and beach. Brilliant staff, so friendly and helpful. A real family feel to it. It’s up a great big hill which we walked mostly but there’s a minibus up and down 5 times a day. The pool area is lovely and clean and they serve meals from 12 till 5 and they’re reasonably priced. We would definitely go back. The family also has a restaurant on the beach called Faro which is where we ate the best meal of the holiday. Highly recommend.

The perfect stay for myself and my husband for 2 weeks, if you are after a quiet location then this is ideal . A small insight into the greek laid back way of life with this family run hotel . 10 min walk to the uptown where there are a few restaurants or 15 min walk down to the town where there are plenty more restaurants and the sea. A mini bus is laid on for those unable to walk it . A few souvenir shops / supermarkets for all your bits and bobs. The owner of the hotel was so friendly (family run ) and always there to help with a smile. We found the standard of the hotel room very good and everything you need , own private balcony over looking the hills with the sun going down was beautiful , all you need really unless you are wanting a 5 star room to spend all day in !!! personally we found the room more than adequate and the cleaning was very good too, bed was so comfy , plenty of wardrobe space and the bathroom has had a recent upgrade. the breakfast in the morning was very nice and also the pool food was very good too. Highly recommend staying here and we certainly will be going again

It's a lovely family run hotel. Anthoulla was very helpful and friendly. The pool was lovely and the pizza was more than enough for 2. It's basic breakfast, but we weren't hungry in the morning. Room very clean, shame fridge needed a new rack. You need to be fit to walk to the beach, but there is a bus laid on. When jet2 didn't pick us up she was so helpful. We couldn't get through to jet2, she also tried. In the end she got Ztours to drop us to the airport and no charge. Thank you so much.

We stayed here for nine nights in September. Hotel is located on a hill mid way between the old town (up the hill) and the beach/harbour area (down the hill). There is a free mini bus (donations welcomed) down and back five times a day. We only used it once as we found it was a fairly easy and pleasant walk. We are reasonably fit and I can understand that other people with mobility problems would struggle with the hill. The pool area is undoubtedly the best part of the hotel. A nice clean pool with plenty of sun beds (although I imagine it would be much busier in the height of summer). The pool bar serves a good selection of food and drink at reasonable prices. Our room had a nice view overlooking the sea. The bathroom I believe has been renovated and the shower was a “wet room” style with no shower tray. This resulted in the entire bathroom floor being wet after showering (remember to move the toilet roll otherwise it becomes unusable!). There is a fridge in the room, a kettle, two mugs, two glasses and a small amount of cutlery. It was all adequate. A couple of criticisms…as mentioned by several other reviews, the breakfast is very sparse. If you want anything cooked, or more than one tea or coffee, you have to pay extra. We only went in for breakfast twice and went out every other day. I think Jet2 need to address this because if you have already paid for bed and breakfast you shouldn’t have to pay extra! The other criticism is around the room cleaning. It clearly states in the room that they are serviced daily, but they are not. Our room was only done every 3 days. By then you need clean towels and sheets as well as the bin emptying (when you have to put soiled toilet paper in the bin it’s not really hygienic to leave it there for three days!). The standard of cleaning wasn’t great either, we found the floors still dirty and the bathroom sink looked like it hadn’t seen a cloth for quite a while! Overall we enjoyed our stay but it could have been better with just a couple of improvements to the criticisms mentioned.

We arrived late evening to a warm welcome, our room ( 24) was an end of corridor so very quiet, everything was as one would expect, clean with good towels etc. Breakfast is a bit sparse, however it was sufficient for us & we did have Yoghurt & honey each morning at a cost of 4Euro each. The pool area & pool were great, water temp was just right, no music until bar was opened, food was available for lunch, normal Greek fare at reasonable prices as were the drinks. Pool bar was open from noon to 5pm. Room was on the small side, but comfortable with plenty of storage space, hot water ran out fairly quickly, but was never "cold". Check out was easy & quick. Although the Hotel is between the Old Kefalos & the New Kefalos, the walk to each was ( for us ) very easy & about 10 mins. A very pleasant week .

Another lovely stay at Anthoula’s! We travelled here together as a couple first in 2019 together, fast forward to 2023 and we’re now married and decided to return to this hotel! It has all been redecorated in the rooms and they look beautiful! So modern and pretty! Anthoula is always so lovely and friendly and everyone works so hard to keep everything running!! We had such a well needed relaxing stay! Anthoula’s food is always so lovely and fresh! Everywhere is clean and the pool is so lovely!! We loved meeting Troufa (the dog) but definitely missed seeing Melenia there! Thank you for a wonderful visit! We wouldn’t hesitate to return!

I stayed at Anthoula for a week with a friend. Anthoula and her family are absolutely lovely. Nothing is too much for them and you can see that they work very hard to run their family business. Keep in mind that there are no lifts so if you are given a room on the first floor you’ll have to carry your suitcases up a flight of stairs. (Just in case anyone suffers from back pain or lifting heavy things etc) The pool area is fab. Nice and clean and they have an area where you can purchase food/drinks/ ice cream at a reasonable price and there are loads of sun beds available. Anthoula offers a shuttle down to the beach at 10:30am, 12:00pm, 4:30pm, 6:00pm and 10:00pm. This is where a lot of the restaurants are situated. We visited quite a few down there but our favourite has to be Ficus or Captain Johns (I highly recommend). We found the locals to be very friendly. You don’t have to catch the shuttle as it’s only a 15-20 minute walk down , but the walk back up is a KILLER as it’s up a steep hill. We did it once and decided that was enough for us. There are places you can go to to hire either a quad bike or car to help get you around. The quad bikes range from 35-50 euros a day and it’s 60 euro a day to hire a car. You have to pay 7 euro a night for AC. We had 2 nights without it, but it was so warm we had to get it for the remainder of our stay. You also need to bring shampoo/ shower gel as the hotel doesn’t provide any of that, but there are a few shops down by the beach that sell them if you’d prefer to get it whilst you’re here. The water isn’t always hot though. We found that during the morning/late evening it would be cold, but in the afternoon it would be warm. The 2 downsides I have are that the rooms are not cleaned everyday and breakfast options. Our room was cleaned on the third day of our stay. The bins are not emptied and considering you can’t flush your toilet paper I find it quite unhygienic to have the paper lying there for days. Our room was cleaned once more after this, but I wouldn’t even call it a proper clean as she only folded the sheets on the bed and gave us more toilet paper. In terms of breakfast I find it quite basic considering you are paying for it. All we had was bread, ham, cheese, tomatoes and cucumbers. You can only have one cup of tea/coffee and if you want another you have to pay for it. I wouldn’t recommend this hotel if you are more the nightlife/ partying type as the area is very quiet and there’s not much to do apart from visiting the beach and going to the restaurants nearby. We did two excursions however which we really enjoyed. ( 3 Island cruise and Sunset in Zia)

Travelled here with my 15 year old daughter. I’ve given it a rating of 4 because it was decent for a 2 star hotel. The hotel has a lovely, quiet laid back atmosphere. I wouldn’t visit if you’re looking for a lively, party vibe. It was perfect for us. The room & bathroom was well done out, definitely better than anything I’ve experienced in other 2 star accommodation. The pool area was lovely and the owners are very helpful and work their socks off. This isn’t a place I’d recommend for someone with mobility issues, it’s right next to a busy road on a steep hill. Like others have said the owners do run a shuttle bus to and from the beach at certain times of the day. We often wanted to come back a bit later so walked back up the hill. It’s about a 10 - 15 min walk but can be tough in the heat. However, the location of the hotel is perfect as it’s slap bang between the beach and Kefalos village up the hill. The one thing I would say is that whilst the towels and sheets were changed mid week, the bathroom sink wasn’t cleaned at any point and it was grubby and definitely needed a clean mid holiday. We also ran out of toilet paper. Not sure if this was an oversight. The breakfasts were basic but this was an additional extra for me I could have paid more and gone self catering so the breakfasts being included were a perk. Overall a lovely welcoming, relaxed hotel.
