This place is beautiful to relax and unwind. It is an ideal location to see the inner attractions of Bohol such as the rice terraces, the chocolate hills, waterfalls and hidden local spots. The staff go above an beyond to ensure you are comfortable and they are more than happy to help with daytime activity ideas. They are a wealth of local knowledge. We are each day at the restaurant provided by the accomodation and the meals were consistently great. We would absolutely love to return if we were to travel the Philippines again and next time we would stay longer. Thank you for all your help and incredible hospitality.

So first impression is to walk in to a giant bungalow. We arrived in the rain so Hampi and Daniele (owners) welcomed us with a banana smoothie in the restaurant area. From start they were very caring and welcoming and sat down to chat with us and see to it that we felt well at ease. Note the rain gave up we were given a short tour to our bungalow room.

The hospitality went on like this and you always felt welcome to sit down and chat about everything and nothing.

It is a small but nice resort built around a beautiful well maintained garden that includes sun chairs and a hot tub. Since the resort is built on a cliff it is a stair down to the ocean. There is no real beach but there is a nice pier you can relax on and you can always snorkel out to the nice house reef.

The room are spacious and fells fresh. Toilets are well cleaned and shower is equipped with warm water heater.

Food is very good and the staff went over and beyond to cater for us that are vegetarian.

The diving operation is wonderful and I ended up taking my SSI Stress and rescue course here with a wonderful instructor. (Thnx friend)

The only negative thing that I can say is that the bed was uncomfortable. We addressed this to the owners and they arranged some extra madrases that helped a bit, but it was still a bit hard for the back.

We spend there two nights in a really nice bungalow. The whole place is really beautiful and it was a perfect place to relax! The couple who runs it are really really friendly and helpful. That place felt like home immediately. And the jacuzzi is amazing!! Awesome place for snorkeling and diving too. And they had a perfect breakfast!. If you are looking for a place to stay in East Bohol - this is THE place.

You can get the same deal for a third in Anda (nearby village).
The bungaows have no aircon or TV, it is really very hot in the night.
In the nearby village Anda you can get bungalows with aircon and TV for a third the price.

We didn't stay at the resort, however we went for a few dives with Michael. We both have open water PADI however hadn't done any diving for ages. He took us for a refresher just around the dive site at the resort and talked us through all the equipment again. We then went to a large site by boat and explored there which was amazing. Michael was very nice and chatty and everyone we met that worked at his resort were equally friendly. One of us then went for a night dive as well which was a fantastic experience, followed by a few beers. Great value for money and very welcoming and friendly!

We stayed at another resort but went diving with Bohol Lahoy. They have a great dive team - the owner Michael and divemaster Humpy are both great hosts and ensure safety of divers. Amazing dive sites around the resort and in Anda. Wherever you decide to stay - you can go diving with Bohol Lahoy!

I did my Padi Open Water Course with dive instructor Michael. He was very professional all along the course and made me feel very safe and secure. All diving gear was very recent and very good quality. The house reef is a great diving spot and only a few feet away from the shore.
The rest of the staff of the resort was also very nice and the food served was very good... Ask for the best spaghetti in Bohol!
If you are looking for a safe and professional place to dive on the southern coast of Bohol, Bohol Lahoy is the place to go.
I would definitely go back if ever back on this island.
Hope you enjoy!

Note that I did not stay at the resort - just did some diving.

Some say when you go to Bohol you have to stay on Panglao, Alona Beach. Well... Been there, done that. Won't do it again. This European run, small resort on the Anda side of Bohol is a place I'd pick any day over Panglao. It's small, but very spacious, and right at the ocean front. The room I stayed in was as well spacious, and clean, with private bathroom (hot & cold shower), with fan. But even in the hot season that's enough.
There's a small SSI dive shop on location, professionally run by one of the managers. We brought our own equipment, but their rental equipment looked solid and well maintained (they have JetFins as rental equipment, really!!). Dive boat is a big, comfortable boat, and they take you out to one of the better walls around Bohol. I thought it better than Balicasag (but I realize that's personal). Lunch and coffee on the boat, with a good chat among divers. Super relaxed atmosphere.
Management and staff are super friendly and very helpful.

Oh, and... yacuzi, anyone? That's a comfort after the dives!

Warmly recommended. Much better than the madness of Alona Beach.

The couple Daniele and Hampi, the Austrian/Swiss owners, welcomed us warmly. Immediately we felt us like at home. Often they sat with us at their relaxing restaurant/bar and we had lovely conversations. Especially their travel tipps for the Philippines were very helpful and saved us a lot of searching. The Bohol Lahoy Resort is located in a very green scenery on a cliff. Altough it hasn't a beach we still could pleasently relax in the garden. Our room was spacious and well furnished. The big wall behind the bed is decorated with a beautiful painting. We enjoyed the big veranda with sea sight.
The only drawback of this lovely resort is far distance to Anda, but luckily one evening Daniele and Hampi took us for dinner to the nice White Beach.
We would love to come back to this chilled out place again.
