I’d been told this was a lovely stopover on a guest mooring whilst cruising in the Philippines and couldn’t agree more. Stayed for 3 nights on our boat on a mooring close to the resort.. Staff were incredibly helpful with boat supplies, communication and service in the evenings of food which was excellent. Really glad to have stopped here for a few days and hope we get the chance to pass by again.

Location was a perfect getaway; serene place , away from tourist vibes with luscious gardens. The staff were attentive and so friendly. The rooms were spacious, clean and comfortable. The buffet breakfast has a good variety of selections and delicious. Their customer service is second to none. This is my second trip here and I will keep coming back for more. I highly recommend it!

This resort is completely out of the crowds of Coron, that is the main reason why we choose it for our vacation. They have the best staff, great facilities and their own dive center. The food is fantastic and the rooms are very comfortable. The only "but" is the distance from the main tourist spots of Coron and Busuanga.

My recent stay at El Rio Y Mar Resort on Busuanga Island was an experience that far exceeded my expectations. Nestled in a secluded spot, accessible only by boat, this resort is a sanctuary for those seeking tranquility amidst nature's pristine beauty. From the onset, the resort impressed me with its commitment to convenience and comfort, offering reasonably priced round-trip transfers, which I found to be a thoughtful touch given its remote location. The journey to the resort was in itself a scenic adventure, setting a perfect tone for what was to come. The resort's landscape is breathtaking, with stunning views that encapsulate the essence of a tropical paradise. But what truly sets El Rio Y Mar apart is its vibrant marine ecosystem. As an avid snorkeler and scuba diver, I was captivated by the underwater world right at the resort's doorstep. The coral reefs are teeming with life, offering a spectacular display of biodiversity that is a testament to the area's conservation efforts. During my stay, I was treated to an enchanting evening that beautifully melded local culture with gastronomic delight. The resort hosted a buffet dinner complemented by a performance showcasing local dances and music. This cultural immersion was not only entertaining but also provided a meaningful connection to the region's heritage. In conclusion, El Rio Y Mar Resort is more than just a place to stay; it's an experience that enriches your soul and leaves you with memories to cherish. Whether you're drawn by the allure of underwater exploration or the call of serene landscapes, this resort promises a unique and rewarding getaway.

This establishment is truly exceptional, nestled in a secluded natural setting, providing a real escape from the outside world. From the moment you're warmly greeted with music upon arrival at the pier, to the moment you depart, the attentive staff cater to your every need. The magnificent underwater world is just a snorkel away, ready to be explored. This resort is human-sized where you never feel overcrowded by other guests. There is a wide selection of water activities available, some complimentary, like snorkeling, paddleboarding, kayaking and others at an extra cost such as water skiing, wakeboarding, towable tube riding, diving, among others. The dining experience is more than satisfactory. It's true, the rooms may be a little aged, but everything still feels well-maintained with excellent cleanliness throughout. Your exceptional experience begins the moment your boat transfer through the mangroves towards the resort starts, so sit back and enjoy every moment!

Words alone cannot describe the absolute serenity of this place. From the moment the boat approached the dock I could tell that I made the right choice. The water surrounding the island was beautiful and so clear, I was in complete awe of the natural surroundings and extremely grateful for the opportunity to be able to experience it for the 4 days we were there. Getting to the resort was a breeze with their airport shuttle service. As soon as we walked outside the airport, we were met by the driver who drove us to the port, where we transferred on to the boat that took us to the resort. The staff have been amazing throughout our entire stay. They welcome you with a song as you arrive at the dock and brief you about the facilities and activities available during your stay (many of which are completely free of charge). There was always someone available to assist us whenever we had a question. I especially want to thank Jemery for being so attentive every time my girlfriend and I stopped at the bar on the dock. We usually drink our beers with lemon and salt which he brought out for us and then topped up when he saw our lemon slices dwindling before we even asked. He also would stop to answer my questions about what type of fish I was seeing in the water. Thank you for everything Jemery! The walk to our room was an experience in and of itself, with the water on one side of the path and beautiful green trees and plants on the other. We stayed in room number 10, which was one of the rooms that leads directly out to the beach. The tide would get higher towards the evening and the water would be just below our porch, the view was breathtaking. By early morning the tide had receded and would leave these gorgeous clear pools that you could just walk in or lay in under the sun. There is also a very convenient foot basin by the steps that connect our room to the beach to wash off the sand before heading back to the room. The room itself was very comfortable and spacious for 2 people, with plenty of outlets for charging our devices. The bathroom was also very spacious and included a hair dryer which is a godsend for people like me whose hair gets easily tangled if not dried with heat. When it comes to activities, the only obstacle was not having enough time to do them all! There was plenty to do both on the island and off. For those who just want to stay on the island, there are kayaks, snorkeling equipment, and paddle boards available for use at no cost. They also have a hiking trail where you can get some beautiful shots of the island and its surroundings. They also have billiards, table tennis and volleyball as well as darts and a karaoke room. They offer diving experiences both near the resort and dugong watching a little further off. We only had enough time for one full day tour so we were unable to try the diving, but I hope to come back and experience it next time. They offer plenty of guided tour options (private and group options available) which we did take advantage of and I highly recommend. We did the Coron full day tour which took us to see the beautiful lakes (Twin Lagoon, Barracuda Lake, Cayangan Lake and Hot Springs and ending in Coron Town for some shopping). We went for the private tour solely for the freedom to decide how long we spent at each stop. Our tour guide, Darren, was very informative and supportive with us first-timers (we had never snorkeled before!) and we had an unforgettable experience. I have never seen such beautiful sights as I have on this one trip. Cayangan lake was the clearest lake I've ever had the pleasure of visiting. Snorkeling around twin lagoon we saw different kinds of fish and corals, plenty of sea urchins and shrimp too. I had bought a waterproof phone case before traveling that hangs around your neck and it worked beautifully for capturing underwater videos and photos. Lunch was included, which was cooked on the boat around halfway through the tour so everything was fresh. Dining options at the resort were plentiful with both international and local dishes. I absolutely loved their Bihon Guisado (rice noodles with chicken and vegetables) and Kare-Kare (pork cooked in a peanut sauce served over a bed of grilled vegetables and a side of rice). The live music at dinner was the perfect extra touch for an unforgettable experience. You can also get a range of snacks at the shop and any other essentials you might need such as sun screen, shampoo or conditioner (which saved my life since I had forgotten to pack mine). Keep your eyes peeled around the resort for some cool sightings of wildlife. I saw a little monitor lizard walking over the path to get to the trees which was a nice bonus to the beautiful fish and corals I saw while snorkeling. On the morning we were leaving, we were once again serenaded with a beautiful song before we left. You can't help but smile and feel at home with the staff here. The songs were catchy, I still hum them to myself even after leaving haha. All in all, this was an amazing stay and I am so glad I chose El Rio Y Mar over the other options closer to the main town. It truly felt like luxury at very reasonable rates. I would definitely stay here again. Thank you for everything!

My friends and I were supposed to be on our liveaboard experience for 4 days and 3 nights. Unfortunately, one of the propeller of our boat fell off. FORTUNATELY 3 people who was also on the liveaboard with us recently stayed at El Rio Y Mar. So they quickly called the resort to see if there was available rooms for all 9 people! Luckily, they had room for all of us! We were welcomed by the staff with beautiful smiles, singing with their guitar and some refreshments and a breezy check in! Food were amazing, they have great scuba diving options to choose from and their scuba diving crew are the best! The whole resort felt so magical. not being able to do our liveaboard experience turned out great since we step foot on this island. on our first day of stay we did a dugong dive, 2nd day we went to Apo reef and dove the majestic wall. On our last day we enjoyed, kayaking and paddle boarding through the mangrove forest and ended the day with a volleyball tournament that we got invited "Guest VS Staff" even though we won, they definitely were challenging opponents! Will be back next year with more friends and family! Thank you so much El Rio Y Mar!

Excellent staff. Efficient airport transfers. Check-In and Out was quick. Clean rooms. We had the Casa Deluxe room. We would have preferred the Cabanas which are right on the water but they were sold out on our stay. We availed of the private half day near island trip - an isolated island out in the open sea with a single tree, another private Island with good sandy, swimming beach and coconuts and another island with excellent snorkelling areas with huge corals. The resort also has a hiking trail to the Hunter's peak - which makes for a good exercise routine and also gives you a good view of the resort and the nearby islands. I enjoyed the breakfast fares, especially the local ones (fried fresh danggit was delicious). Overall, it met my expectations for a quiet and relaxing vacation.

This is a superb hotel within 1 hour of Busuanga Airport but a small piece of heaven on earth. The location is stunning in a beautiful scenic bay. The hotel experience is really nice and perfect for a long weekend or even a longer holiday. This is one of the nicest places I have visited in the Philippines.
