It's unfortunate that we only stumbled upon La Luna after our Groupon-booked accommodations turned out to be a bust because I feel like our money would have been better spent even if we'd paid full price for a room at La Luna.

First off, the service was great. The ladies manning the cafe/front desk were friendly. Our original accommodations failed to (or didn't even) help us find a tour boat to take us to Bucas Grande after they told us that their boat was broken. One of the women in La Luna immediately called her father up to take us the next day (at this point, we weren't even billeted in La Luna yet. We were just looking for tour operators. Also yes, the tour went swimmingly). When we finally prematurely checked out of the previous resort, we booked in at La Luna and they were even nice enough to help us find someone to take us to the port for when we were leaving. (We were eligible to have the first resort take us to the port because our accommodations were fully paid already but the front desk lady was having problems agreeing with this idea!)

The room we stayed in was really clean! They had shiny wooden floors, a big bed, airconditioning, and enough hangers and shelves. We were also lucky enough to get the room on top of the cafe, which means we were close enough to get good wifi signal. The bathroom was pretty plain but it was clean and there was a rain shower. (There were some ants, but not an unbearable number and they weren't flying!) The nice bit about the room, too, is that it had a little balcony where you could sit and people watch/motorcycle watch.

Food-wise, we just had a crepe and a tea. While it wasn't spectacular, it was pretty enjoyable.

Another thing I liked was La Luna's proximity to other resorts so you could try the in-house restaurants and the fact that you could go barefoot in the cafe/bar. It just felt so cozy.

I stayed at La Luna for a week and I loved every second. Very welcoming staff, always ready to help. A nice bar-restaurant area where you can just chill and relax and enjoy the great food (try the pancakes!). Clean and spacious rooms with the biggest bed I have ever seen (I stayed in the aircon room above the restaurant).

I took surf lessons but I did not book the surf package through la Luna. From what I saw it appeared that people with the package had consistent instructors multiple times a day. It's harder if you book individual lessons every day to get same/reliable instructors. So I would recommend to take the surf package if that is your priority.

Thank you so much too Susie and Lino for welcoming us with open arms and for making our stay at Siargao so memorable. Smooth and clean rooms with amazing hammocks, warm shower (perfect after a long day of surf) delicious food (thanks, Piero!) and the warmest and loveliest people you will meet in Siargao. We had almost every meal at the hotel for extremely reasonable prices.

The surfing package has great value, especially for beginners who would like to learn to surf. You get to go out at the most twice a day. The surf instructors offers the best tutoring, gives you the best waves and shows you the best surfingspots (and tells you where not to surf), all of it resulting in too many smiles!

La Luna is a family run resort, and they make sure to make you feel like a part of their family. There is always someone to chat or laugh with and they are more than willing to show you around on their beautiful island.

Once again; thank you so much Susie and Lino, and ofcourse to the best surf instructors in the Philippines, Doydoy and Piero.

Pros: Easy to go around. Near the restaurants like Sugba, Tom & Tom’s (breakfast & coffee), Buddha Thai Cuisine, Bake (a bit of walking needed). Big room at room #7 with balcony which we didn’t use. They can book your van pick-up to the airport for 200 pesos per head. This is also the office of GotMarked Travel Agency where you can book your land tours. Staff were friendly.

Cons: Since there was on ongoing construction (they’re adding more rooms), their pipes are clogged and they need a good plumber to fix it. Stay away from room #7 if you don’t like to do some major mopping after taking a bath. Even if the staff knows about the problem, they still gave us that room even if there’s another option. When we told them about the clogged pipes, that’s the only time they offered the other room. Since we were only staying for 2 nights, we didn’t bother to switch. It was such a hassle.

Pros: Spacious room, good airconditioning. Very accessible since the resort is on the main road. Airport transportation arranged. Wifi is reliable, not fast but acceptable for island standards. No tv.

Cons: The place is rundown. Our room had termites, leaking roof, toilet flush broken, water pressure can be improved.
They don't provide toiletries - bring your own. No free breakfast or coffee. Staff is not helpful when we raised our room concerns.

For us cons outweighed the pros. Not recommended.

Great rooms and friendly staff make this a great choice. Air con is new in big rooms with quality sheets, big bed, nice bathrooms and a patio. Beach is just across the road. Close to surfing. Motorbikes can be arranged... Beer is cold, food is good.

The staff were very accommodating and helpful. They have efficiently arranged our requests for our tours and even gave us their mobile number so we can get in touch with them should we have any concerns when we went to Sugba Lagoon and Magpupungko. The beach was just across the resort and they have their own motorized boat. Accessible to other restaurants and resorts in General Luna. Rooms were clean, however, the water pressure from the shower was quite weak and the drainage was poor. Nonetheless, I would still recommend La Luna if you do not want to splurge on your accommodations and would love the laid back and island living atmosphere of the resort.

Me and my fiance stayed here around Christmas for 5 days. Siargao is absolutely AWESOME and La Luna is a great choice to stay! We stayed in room 4 and the room was very spacious, very nice balcony, quite room and a MASSIVE bed. Another great addition is the boat/tour service. The boat trips are really great value for money and kuya (father of the owner of the place) is a great guy and a really good captain!

I can really recommend this place!

When I make inquiry to few places, I find that this place is perfect. Thank you to Zirk for smooth arrangement and prompt reply. My friend and I opt for surfpackage for 7 days. Staffs are friendly and great. Room – clean and huge with AC, fan and balcony. It would be great if the bathroom have more hooks. There is no TV in the room but it is ok. Location is good between General Luna and Cloud 9. Dining – a simple good chill bar restaurant and food portion is big. Must try the pancakes! Free wifi - connection is strong at the dining area.
Surfing lesson – I recommend Balong and Manu. Trust me!
I highly recommend La Luna than those have overrated rating. I really feel at home and safe. I will definitely stay here again.
