Its a perfect place for a family, friends or a couple to relax, enjoy life, experience Philippines provincial culture and explore a beautiful tropical island. The ocean view from the deck of our cottage was the most amazing experience. Beach is white sand and quite private due to easy access only from the resort. The owners have put an enormous amount of effort into every detail of the resort making it a very authentic native ambiance. Hand made furniture is gorgeous, Stone work around the property and the mural on the wall in the restaurant are a a work of art. The whole resort is new/well maintained and very clean, food is good, abundant and very reasonably priced. The only negative might be a long shallow reef during low tide. The main and the greatest feature is the staff and the owner who is very friendly, accommodating was always available to help organize just about all our requirements. We can definitely recommend Coconut Shade Beach Resort and Tablas Island to any traveler that wants to get away from it all.…

Yes you are right, low tide means shallow waters but as I believe you did, many find its a great time to collect a few shells. This place is awesome! You can do a day trip here, and use the restaurant, facilities and enjoy the beach for the day. The food is very good, especially the Philippino food! Ask them what they have, since they buy only fresh produce daily, and let them prepare what they recommended.. You won't be disappointed. They also have big lovely cabins. The details are outstanding. The cabins feel authentic, but are applied with all modern appliances like a rain shower (hot and cold water), airconditioning, fully stocked fridge (with very reasonable prices) and a comfortable bed. Easy access to a nice beach. Wearing shoes is advised since there are sea urgens here and there. (we didn't see any, but the owner mentioned that they were around) Nevertheless, swimming was a delight. The bar has plenty of options drink wise, and the beer is really cold. The staff is very friendly, and the owner went out of his way to help and assist us with the many questions we loaded upon him, since we were planning the rest of our trip. He arranged transportation to the port, a rental scooter for a day and asked around for doing an island hopping trip. I highly recommend this place!…
