Balai sa Baibai is a Bisayan phrase that literally means "house by the beach." It also plays on the Thai term "sabai-sabai" which means to relax and chill out. Put together Balai sa Baibai means your relaxing home by the sea, a place to rest, and recover from your busy lives. And this is exactly what we the owners, Cocoy and Elden, want you to do - sit back, relax and enjoy Camiguin.

When planning my Camiguin trip, one place stood out on where to stay. Balai is just a few kms. from the town proper and the airport and is suitably located near restaurants as well as to the boats for White Island. I loved the place -- small but secluded, clean, tastefully designed and quiet as its far from the Circumferential Road. The reception staff headed by Rachel was very attentive and helpful as she led and oriented us to our villa. I also had a chance to meet one of the owners Alessandra on the day of our check out. Our villa was spacious and comfy with a strong AC (to counter the summer heat) and of course a delightful private pool. Really enjoyed a night swim with a bright half-moon overhead. Breakfast was a choice of 3 set menus. They had a poolside bar and a restaurant where we did not avail as we opted for outside recommendations. I would definitely and highly recommend this boutique resort especially to honeymooners and couples who are into scuba diving as Alessandra and her hubby are into this activity. I'm sure they'll have a lot to share on this.

We tried 2 rooms on different days.. the pool view room is fine but can get noisy as you can hear the conversations in the adjacent room, the staffhouse and pool/restaurant. We tried the private villa w/ the dipping pool and experience was great. the resort gives us the Bali vibe. Would stay here again.

Yes, that is how you will feel after staying in the intimate guest house environment created by Roman and Alessandra. This world-travelled couple understand escape, intimacy, and romance, and for this busy professional who was long, long overdue to disconnect and relax, it was the perfect place. They have assembled an amazing and attentive staff, and there are professional masseuse services available for you to indulge yourself. If you are a diver, Roman is your guy, and cocktails near the shore would be a wonderful way to end your day. The menu offerings for breakfast and dinner are all delicious. Make sure to pay attention to the specials board to not miss out on anything. My fiancé and I stayed in a small cottage unit with a small, private pool that was amazing, sensual, and so relaxing. You won’t regret your stay.

I went on a bachelorette trip with a few friends. The accommodations were clean, the staff was the friendliest, and went above and beyond— including the owners to ensure we were able to do what we had planned for the bride. The food was delicious. Despite some rain, Camiguin is beautiful.

The grounds are absolutely lovely, staff were amazing, but having been travelling the Phillipines for 3 months and having a good grasp on value for money, we found this resort way overpriced. The room is pretty small, but very clean, hot water pressure is a joke, a trickle at best, difficult with thick long hair. Definately had more mozzoe bites here but that is due to the room not being a sealed unit and the numerous lovely water features. Drinks were great at the hotel bar. One thing we found odd was the owners, we had 4 days there, we saw them engage for long periods with each customer, but they didnt speak more than hi to us over our entire stay, was a bit wierd.

We went for my best friends bachelorette and it was the perfect place. The staff was SO accomodating to our needs- from setting up tours, to breakfast and dinner plans, to having our drinks and snacks readily available. The entire staff was super accomodating, happy, kind, attentive, and speedy. The owners- Alessandra and Roman were expectacular! They catered to all our needs, even the tricky ones! They made sure we had a great time. The rooms were cleaned, air was working great and the food was AMAZING! definitely need to come back here and spend more time.

Balai Sa Baibai is a quiet beachfront oasis of calm and comfort on Camiguin Island. The new owners have renovated and upgraded extensively. I stayed in one of the villas with its own private plunge pool, which I would choose again on the next stay. The room is huge, light filled, AC quiet and dependable; open air (covered) bathroom with seperate hot and cold showers, beautiful landscaping around the privacy walls. The king bad was very comfortable, as were the pillows. There is a large outside covered sitting/dining area next to the pool for hanging out when one is in the mood to just chill. The restaurant & bar are steps from the rooms; food is selective and well prepared; we elected to have happy hour and dinner on site over nearby recommended restaurants, because the food was so good, along with a surprisingly enjoyable and reasonably priced selection of red and white wines. There are also cocktails, beers, and a variety of juices offered. The grounds are meticulaously maintained. The place just feels first rate with personal attention to guests in every way. The beaches on Camiguin are black sand, of a vocanic nature, but one can arrange for 1/2 day or full day trips to see other sites on the island, including waterfalls, hot and cold springs, giant clam protected marine area, snorkeling sites, or hiking. Standup paddleboards and sea kayaks are available for rent at the resort. Scuba diving is also offered through its affiliated dive shop. The island itself is not so crowded with tourists yet and there is ample opportunity to mix and mingle with the locals, who are all friendly. There are other resorts on the island, but after staying at Balai Sa Baibai, I’m not sure I would bother trying the others, to be honest. My initial experience at this place was so enjoyable, I would just return here for a future visit to Camiguin Island.

Excellent resort and accommodating staff. From what I saw seems to be owned by a German couple. Great accommodations and has a pool. Easy access to boat tour going to White Island. Front desk can assist with organizing tours depending on your needs. Bar is good with pool. Food is good as well

The long journey to arrive at a beautiful oasis. Reminded me of some Balinese resorts, but with a Filipino location. The staff and owners were just amazing. Our Prive Pool Villa with Pool was large, clean and welcoming. The splash pool was a really welcome inclusion after spending the day outside. We just relaxed totally. The food was great and the location of the restaurant gave you an amazing view of what a Sunset has to offer. Lots of sightseeing activities can be arranged via the front desk/Roman and if diving is your thing, you have come to the right place to enjoy. Again Roman & Alessandra were just gracious hosts and their team made the entire visit an amazing experience. We will be back.

Totally love the place. We booked for 1 Villa which fits 2 pax and 3 Deluxe room which also fits 2 pax on each room. The resort is like Bali inspired resort, specially the rooms and the villa. Staff are very accommodating and friendly, they will actually welcome you with great smile aside from welcome drinks😁. I love the way they will send you to your room and discuss all necessary things that you might need in the room. Though their beach is not conducive for swimming they have a nice clean pools located at the restaurant and bar where you can enjoy the water. I love the healthy vegan style food they serve in the restaurant m. They serve their fruit juices without sugar and love it so much.
