We only had three days to go before our flight and we still didn't have accommodations set for our visit. Luckily, the hotel was not full and was able to accommodate our party of five. The drive was at least thirty minutes from Guinsiliban port, given that the hotel was practically at the opposite end of the island (a distance of just over 24 kms.). But the ride was pleasant with the newly concrete-ized road and drainage. The hotel is beautifully located across the narrow straits from White Island, with a view of the islands of Bohol and Cebu (on a clear day). All rooms are oriented seaward so there are no bad rooms to be had. Paras Beach Resort is a nice place to stay. Don't expect a super luxurious resort, and don't expect a run-down place. It offers spectacular views of the ocean and of the white beach. At night, you can even see fires in the distance of people supposedly camping out at white beach. The rooms are small, but cozy. The aircon was powerful. The staff at the time weren't overly friendly, but on top of things. The owner of the place was staying there too, and from the looks of his family, the staff were only following his uncaring demeanor. Pool is small, but clean. Food is nice. There's a small fish pond with plenty of fish to watch and there are steps leading right to the ocean. A night diver was in the area and enjoying himself.
