A serene accommodation in Camiguin. My husband and I stayed at one of their nipa-style huts for our anniversary night. From arrival, we received a very warm welcome from their staff, Jennelyn, and the wonderful owner, Illena! The room we stayed at was quiant-yet-well-appointed, with a nice bed, enough lounge chairs and tables, and a bathroom that comes with a bidet and hair dryer. Aside from being a fantastic host, the owner is a great cook/chef, too, who served us delicious jams, canapés, bread, and pancakes at their in-house restaurant, Sapore. The pineapple & ginger jam was TDF! They can also arrange a Swedish massage for you, if you so desire. Or you can just have a couple of beers and lounge in their rustic pool. You can tell that the place was well maintained and well run by how clean everything is. Definitely consider this if you're visiting the island!…
Camiguin was the final destination and we couldn't have asked for a better place to stay than Nypa Resort - thank you so much to Ilenia, Stefano and their amazing staff. We stayed in the Rainbow Villa (Villa with Garden View) - very comfortable bed, great bathroom and a wonderful deck to relax on in the evening. Our room was also cleaned every day and the general decor/vibe of the villa made it an amazing place to wake up in and come home to. From the moment we arrived, Ilenia and Stefano went above and beyond to help us get the most out our stay with recommendations on what to visit including the best spots for snorkelling, must-see sights and good itineraries for the days we were staying. We rented a motorbike from the resort and also booked transport to and from the airport - everything was seamless! Special mention to the restaurant within the resort - Sapore. Whether you're eating Breakfast, Lunch or Dinner, you will leave with a happy and full stomach from the delicious food including homemade bread and pasta plus fresh juices. My mouth is watering as I type and think of it! Thanks again Stefano, Ilenia and all. For anyone looking for somewhere to stay in Camiguin, Nypa will be your home away from home.…
After checking maybe all beachfront resorts, I can say with confidence that this is the best place to stay on the island, surely for the midrange resorts! As I travel most of the time, I already know the feeling when I arrive to a place and I just feel that it’s the perfect place for me. There are several types of Nipa bungalows, differ in sizes but they are all beautiful, well attended and maintained, tastefully decorated, comfortable and inviting. Every small detail in the bungalows shows the touch of love from the owners. The bungalows are apart from each other and you have your privacy in the tranquil atmosphere of the beautiful garden nestled in the beautiful nature of Camiguin. The kind, lovely and most helpful owners (Ilenia and Stefano), live here and that for sure makes the whole difference. The Italian restaurant on the premises, serves delicious Italian food and home made pastry in a quality that surely is very hard to achieve in such a remote island- but they do it in every single meal again and again. When I finish my day of traveling and feel so happy to come back to my amazing bungalow, I know that I found “my place” and that it will be hard to leave until the next time I’ll surely come back. True, it’s not a beach front resort and that’s the reason that I checked almost all beach front resorts on the island, but comparing to the beach front options that I saw, I had no doubt that Nipa style resort, is the best choice. Driving the rented motorbike, will take me anywhere and any beach or waterfall and ocean view in the island. And anyhow, the beauty of the island is superb, but the beaches are not the main reason to come to this island (not the best beaches in the Philippines), but the overall beauty, good vibe and uniqueness of this volcano island, is what makes it so special and enjoyable. As I said, for me, there is not really a doubt that it’s the best place to stay in Camiguin! Thank you Ilenia, Stefano and the team of the resort, for such a great time in your amazing place 🙏🙏…
Pros: I like the room/cottage style; it's quiet; there's a swimming pool; there's a big garden for relaxing. Cons: The location is a bit away from the city center (quite difficult for public transportation); bad WiFi connection Suggestions for improvements: types of mosquito next use in the room (not the round one but the square one); lower the price of the transportation service offered
Overall, I had a great experience with the Nypa Style Resort. Owner Mdm. Ilenia and her staff were accommodating, and the amenities were great. The room was beautiful, clean, and perfect to celebrate my birthday week. The room's interior is romantic. The bed was good for my back. You don't need any aircon - good energy flows. I slept well and felt very positive the next day. The resort accepts Gcash & credit cards. I tried other restos, but really, dining here is first class 💕 I'll highly recommend this resort to all my friends 💖
This resort is like arriving to a small family. You feel so welcome from the first minute. The place is stunningly beautiful, the gardens are well taken care of, the housing is very eco-friendly and cozy. All the staff is so friendly, no wonder since the Italian couple who manage the place are very nice. Breakfast is delicious. We had dinner one night at the restaurant and the quality was very good, especially the past which was amazing. I really recommend this place to any traveller who wants the experience to sleep in the woods, but with all the confort of a top hotel. Beware, you are indeed in the woods, and although the bed in the room has a mosquito net, you will find insects around the room or in the bathroom. It's a very natural environment (for example no TV or air conditioning) which is what we were looking for, but might not suit everyone. For example, the window shades let most of the light in, therefore be ready to wake up early if you're used to sleeping in the dark. The place is quiet in terms of people, but you will hear wildlife at night, and cocks from early morning. Bring earplugs or facemask if you're that kind of person. The massage at the hotel is great, with well trained and professional staff. Yes, it's a bit more expensive than what you can find in other places in Camiguin, but it's worth the difference. A great experience for us, unforgettable start to our Honeymoon and our first amazing days in Camiguin. Worth a visit, but be sure to know the drawbacks which may not suit every type of traveller.…
We have stayed here for 6 days and we did not get the chance to get bored here at all. Staff is super friendly and alert, the cottages are clean and the owners are super friendly as well! They really know what service is at this place, never experienced it like this before! It's not at the beach no, but you don't even miss it to be honest. It is really a peacefull place and we really enjoyed our stay here!
We stayed two nights in the orange bungalow. Friendly staff, really helpful. We booked a tour through them (hike of volcano Hibok Hibok). After it we took a massage within this resort as they provide it for good prices, done by two external people and they definitely knew how to do a massage. The food is really delicious. Italian cuisine and every evening the dinner options were different. The rooms were large and tidy, as well as the bathroom. You also have your own private terrace. There is also a natural ‘swimming’ pool. The only negative point: you can only pay cash or by PayPal but then they charge an additional 6%. Credit cards are not accepted. We didn’t had enough cash, so a pitty of the extra charge, especially because it is 6%, not 2 or 3 or so which is sometimes the case in other hotels. …
Nypa Style is a great resort in Camiguin if you want to experience the old or traditional rural style accommodation but with some modern amenities to keep you comfortable. The rooms are the traditional style but with a more than adequate toilet and bath. No aricon though but with fan. The place must be wonderful to stay in during the colder months of the year. The resort owners - Iliana and Stefano - are very welcoming and gracious. Staff are also very kind and polite. The grounds of the resort is big with its own small spring so it's a good place to relax if your tired from exploring the island. The restaurant is also superb and they serve good Italian food in case you are tired of the standard Italian fare of pasta and pizza around the island.
Nice resort but owned by the rudest man I have met in the Philippines. His wife is really very welcoming and sweet, but her husband was aggressive, rude and offensive to me for no other reason than my friend paid a short visit to me at the resort and wandered away from the area which he considered non-residents should be allowed into. It was an unpleasant experience and I would advise you to avoid this arrogant man if you can.
