Wonderful resort. Staff was excellent and professional. Breakfast was delicious and exactly on time, served pool side. Room was very comfortable, bathroom was clean and well appointed. Place is also very secure. A gem in the middle of Abra.
My Mom and I stayed here in a bungalow queen room for 3 days. The AC room provides the basic necessities including basic toiletries. Decently sized for 2 pax. Very satisfied with the room. Regarding the meals, apart form breakfast you will not find anything to eat in the hotel for the rest of the meals. No room service of any sort except coffee or tea on charge during the day if you request for it. This provision was a surprise but I guess we understood due to the location we were at. The resort itself is a quaint, comfortable, well maintained and beautiful property. At the time we were there, I think we were the only guests. Customer service is top class with such comfort. While the Filipino people generally can be quite friendly, Ms Joy was supportive and flexible all throughout our stay. Also very kind and service friendly. I would stay here again, except for the fact that there is no place to eat in the hotel or right outside. You need to walk at least 5 mins or more to get to a restaurant. Never tried it so not sure about the kinds. Staying with my mom and grandma visiting and since we were not on an adventure holiday, would like easy eat outs available. …
We went all the way in there and the hotel help were not receptive to receiving us. It was hard enough to go up the narrow road towards their hotel and to be treated with suspicion will not earn you customers in the future. Hotel management should train their staff to recognize a potential customer.
This is a lovely small resort based within a walled garden about 10 minutes from the centre of Bangued. It really is beautiful and well kept once you get inside and are happy to stay there. As another reviewer mentioned this is a difficult place to find, not on a main road at all. Our local relatives could not find it, and neither could anyone we asked on the street nearby help us. There's no signage at all as far as we could see. It took two calls to the resort itself before we found it! Anyway, perhaps this is an advantage if you want to get away from it all. There's nothing in the way of local restaurants (you'll need a 10 minute tricycle ride), and if you want to eat in the resort itself then it must to be by prior arrangement. Likewise, you have to choose your breakfast the night before including saying what time you want it served. The main gate is closed and locked between 9pm and 6am unless you make special arrangements to come and go outside these times. All in all it's a bit like staying with relatives and having to stick to their rules - of which there are three laminated printed sheets to be found in your room. All of this may sound like a moan, but this is all made up for by the incredibly kind and caring staff who run the place and the overall quality of the accommodation. You feel totally safe, surrounded with high ending fittings; it's dead quiet, clean and comfortable. But it's certainly not for everyone and you need to know how different it is to your typical hotel where there's a lot more flexibility.…
The place is refresshing with lots of greenery and blooms. The room is large so is the bed. There is no screen door so mosquitoes are likewise invited to come in when you open the door. The air conditioning unit horsepower is not compatible with the size of the room. Pillows are too soft for our needs. There is no electric water thermos for coffe or tea. No complimentary coffee, tea nor drinking water. The dining area is hot. No signage from the main road to the resort.
It is more than merely accommodation …. Yes the property is literally a resort, and the people there are wonderful too. The hosts Thomas and Aurora are so friendly I felt I was being treated as a visiting family member. More about the property… the grounds are fun to explore and you visit the pool, the fish pond, the chickens, Thomas jungle, or stroll in the gardens. Thomas would give my Son fish food who loved to feed the fish every day. The grounds are very secure with large walls all around. The rooms are air conditioned and high quality and everything is maintained and functional. I enjoyed Thomas tour of the mechanics including pool and pumps house, water storage, solar/grid power supply with a powerful back-up generator that actually came in handy through a black-out while I stayed, but it didn’t affect us. A Dr. Of Physics Thomas is and this is his paradise. The staff are great and a lovely breakfast was served each day, and I enjoyed drinking wine with the hosts some evenings. I have gained a great deal of inspiration with new ideas for my own property. Looking forward to seeing you again!…
The best in Bangued we liked it so much we stayed here twice it’s quiet beautiful and the staff/owners can’t do enough for you. The pool is so clean you think it’s spring water. we stayed in there bungalow which is amazing everything works (rare in Luzon) it’s only 10 minutes to Bangued centre on a trike. The gardens largely dominate the space so you feel like you have a garden of Eden what you see in pics is what you get I would stay again every time I go through the area. Look no further book it before it’s gone!!! Overall Ace place best whisper a/c Best 100chanel tv Cleanest place I’ve stayed in the whole of Luzon Dan Beha
As a Clinician trained in Behavioral Medicine and in American Jurisprudence, I work as a Licensed Clinical Psychotherapist, and a Forensic Case Manager for clients who have psychiatric and legal issues. As such, when I go on vacation similar to the one I took recently with my family in the Philippines, I like to have excellent services and accommodations wherever I happened to be staying at. Strutz Art Garden Resort, provided these and more when we stayed there 3weeks ago. Specifically, the Resort provided exceptional comfort, amenities, and freedom of choices. The environment including the staff were perfect. The Resort is in excellent location for vacationers who truly cherish and enjoy peace and tranquility. The staff are professional as the rules, expectations and boundaries are clear, yet with personal touch and family-like treatment and respect common to the Filipino culture. Finally, but not last, Strutz Art Garden Resort appears to be the only hotel-related establishment in the Province of Abra that accept Credit Card payments consistent with the 21st century lifestyle. I can't say the same for the same accommodation my family and I had with the other -hotels we stayed at. In fact, one of those hotels we stayed at, don't even meet the basic necessity for human habitation.…
I am a landscape photographer and visited Bangued to shoot Kaparkan Falls. We looked at many options online and decided on the Strutz Art Garden Resort. We are very happy with our choice! The Team in Strutz Garden were extremely friendly and helpful prior to our arrival, and from the moment we arrived through to our departure. My landscape photography work depends in part upon weather. Up front I asked Mr. Strutz if the weather was bad, if I could move my reservation window to a different week. He was extremely accommodating and in fact a Super Typhoon blasted through Abra the day before we were to arrive. I moved my reservation out by one week. Upon arrival we were immediately greeting by the facility Manager Lilia. My 1st impression was that the facility & grounds were extremely well maintained. The registration was quick and our room was beautiful. I would go so far as to say our room was in "like new" condition. Lilia & James had our breakfast ready on time each day, even accommodating our early shoot schedule. The swimming pool was impeccably clean and a lovely sight while taking our breakfast poolside. By the way, I highly recommend the Vigan Longaniza! Each day our room attendant Matet was there with fresh towels and a smile as she refreshed our room. At night Lilia was there to greet us, like coming home to Family. She was always ready with recommendations for my wife to visit during the day while I was shooting & more recommendations for places to go for dinner. Frankly, we were sad when departure morning rolled around, we would like to have stayed another day or two, but we needed to proceed with our vacation schedule. Thank a million to Mr. Strutz, Lilia, James and Matet for an AbraMazing experience!…
It is already a couple of months ago. But this is the place to stay in Bangued. We were searching for a place to stay a couple of days because we had to visit our family in Mudeng(across the bridge). We found it on google after several tries with the 2 others hotel(they called afterwards that they were fully booked by the government). By accident one of the employees was a relative of our uncle. Aurora(owner of the property) gives you a warm welcome and will take care of you in an excellent way. Rooms are very good and comfy as known in the ‘western part of the world’. Swimming pool and garden are very clean and relaxing I would definitely come back here when i will stay in Abra.
