BORGO DEI CONTI RESORT is located in Montepetriolo, just 10 minutes from Perugia, overlooking the valley of the Nestore river. The residential compound, which covers 20 hectares of centuries-old woods and olive groves, belonged to the family of the Counts Rossi Scotti who, beginning in the early 1800s, undertook its development according to the well-defined stylistic layout of the BORGO, or hamlet, with the Castle as the noble residence, while the remaining residential quarters represented a new interpretation of medieval inspiration. The painstaking restoration embraced the philosophy of the original concept, bringing to light the remarkable aspects that were all but wiped out in decades of abandonment. Today the master residence, the reconfigured residential quar- ters, the baroque style chapel and the park have taken on new roles, making the RESORT a unique and exclusive point of reference on the hospitality scene.A fiefdom with a kind and noble spirit, surrounded by the nature of Umbria, "the garden of Italy", along the road to cities of art such as Rome, Florence and Siena, near sites of Etruscan relics (Perugia and Chiusi), and destinations of both spiritual (Assisi, Gubbio, Cascia) and cultural (Orvieto, Spoleto, Todi, Foligno) significance. Yet far away from all that is commonplace. The dialogue between old and new is the common denominator of the style expressed within the walls of the 58 guestrooms of the Resort, located throughout the various residen- tial compounds. Comfort, practicality and technology blend with the charm of original elements such as fireplaces, painted ceilings, frescoed walls, antique glass and inlays. The same qualities are found in the 8 apartments, which may also be used for long-term stays. Each and every room - not only those located in the towers and turrets - offers unique emotions. The living room, in an authentic setting brimming with life, the internal court- yards and the maze of pathways, the Italian garden, the park with age-old aromatic woods, the opportunity for sports and wellness, all ensure a special experience. Its beautiful and super cool, no doubt. IF you like cold plunges like I do, the pool is nice and freezing haha. The restaurant service is def hit and miss but the staff are very kind. When we were trying to find out more about a trip to assisi and seeing St Francis they told us we would have to look that up on their website, which, was pretty strange
Spent a day/night here after landing in Rome on way to Florence. Wish in hindsight we had done 2-3 nights here. Had the “family room” which is basically 2 rooms sharing a common hallway with a door. The grounds are beautiful, service is excellent and everyone loved having lunch overlooking the beautiful pool. All meals were excellent, gym/spa was well appointed. Great wine list in a nice area of Umbria. Highly recommended would definitely return.
We just left the resort after a few nights stay with kids. The grounds are superb as well as the surrounding landscape, but the service at breakfast was excessively slow. It appears that they are short staffed otherwise how best explain that you have to wait a good 20-30 mins before getting a cup of coffee. A few breakfast pastries are on a table buffet style, but not coffee, orange juice or fruits. On my last day I had a third of a glass of orange juice and just did not have the time for another 30 mins to waste waiting for the rest of the glass. If their issue is staffing that they should make it buffet style. The fruit platter did not include any of the fruits in season in Italy!! I was not particularly looking for pineapple in Umbria but there were there. The peaches, apricots and grapes were not part of the menu. On our first night we heard loud noises from upstairs and turned out the billiard room sat atop of our rooms. Overall not an experience we would repeat.…
This is a beatiful and luxurious resort, situated near Perugia in Umbria, central Italy, surrounded by amazing views of the green hills and valleys that this area is famous for. The resort itself is amazing, really stunning, interesting, historic, spacious, a pleasure to stay at. Staff at front desk and pool were super, really helpful, also housekeeping. The big issue was the main restaurant, Rura, the food was very nice overall, but the service was practically useless, both at breakfast and dinner, and one of the reasons to book a Relais & Chateau is for the food experience - It wasn't so here. There was endless confusion over our half board status and what that meant we could or could not order without charge, they would take 30 minutes sometimes to even take our order, then bring us completely different things than ordered (which they did to many guests), often by the time we got food (or hot drinks) it was cold, courses would come out at different times so I would finish eating the first course before my wife even received it, breakfasts were appalling badly served, totally confusing, we would wait 30 minutes to get a pot of coffee, then two would arrive. It's all a great shame, as this is what R&C is supposed to be famous for, but the dining experience was completely ruined for us by the poor service and they need to address it, as we saw most guests faced with the same issues. I cannot actually recommend the resort right now, due to this issue, but if they can fix the restaurant service, then it would be an amazing overall place to stay.…
We stayed at the place for a night and the place has very friendly and helpful staffs. Since we were taking full board option, dinner and breakfast were very nice. Room big and spacious, the hotel area were quite big, very nice to walk around. The only issue we have were the spa and gym have some kind of smells when we stayed there. Otherwise it were perfect stay.
Spent a few nights here with my wife in early May 2022. Pictures do not do it justice! Stunning property with amazing vistas. Excellent service and well maintained grounds. Both restaurants are great, the casual pizzeria is great for a relaxed bite outside, while Michelin star-level wine service and menu at the in-house restaurant is divine. Special shoutout to the two gentleman working the bar. Provided elegant yet personal service, especially Oreste. He, and his colleague [lovely man with a beard], provided great recommendations on local wines and made a GREAT negroni! 10/10, would recommend and look forward to staying here again.
We were so surprised when we drove up the long driveway to the main building. Borgo is a stunning resort with absolutely beautiful surroundings. We had a junior suite with a view of the surrounding countryside. The meal at their fine dining restaurant was truly outstanding. The wait staff, Christina and Selma, were top notch and made sure our evening was going to be memorable. They did not fail us!! We had a terrific time there and recommend it without reservation. In fact, the entire staff at the Borgo was attentive and responsive to any of our needs. The pool-side cafe, in fact the only one I've ever visited that had white table cloth for their dinner hour, had one of the best vegetarian pizzas I've ever had! All in all, this is worth a visit and a stay.
Large old palazzo with extensive, beautiful grounds. The buildings are beautiful as well. You feel like you are quite cut-off from the world. The staff is fantastic, very attentive. The rooms are quite nice, either in the main building or the Colonica building. There is a strong focus on their spa and wellness center. While not close to any one historical city to visit in Umbria, it is centered among Orvieto, Todd, Perugia and Assisi, which are all relatively easy drives (under an hour). On the other hand, you may just want to spend all your time on the property.
We stay 4 nights in this hotel end Aug 2021. 5 Star in all services confirmed. All people involved were 100% focused on Customers service at any time for anything. House keeping , restaurant , business 100% satisfied. I do suggest for leisure and ...business .
I had the pleasure to stay in this wonderful place for 5 days with my fiancé and I swear it was a dream. The location is spectacular, people who work there are so kind and professional and the food was awesome! We also had the pleasure to meet the general manager who is such a professional and gentle man. We will definitely come back as soon as we can!
