Whilst my friends and I didn't stay, we stopped in for a cold beer and to ask for directions. They were super accommodating, knowledgeable, and helpful, and even organised a discount on some mopeds for us.
A nice and comfortable spot to base out of for a few days while taking my diving course with D Divers across the bay. The rooms are very rustic with no screens on the windows, not allot of funaiture and no private bathrooms but the bed is comfortable and there is a mosquito net for the bugs. Rooms have a fan, lights and electrical plugs for when the island has power (frequent power outages). The common bathrooms are well equipped with modern toilets, showers and enough sinks for people to brush teeth/wash face if all baths are in use. The resort is in a forest setting which is very quiet at night and the are no roosters on property (a real treat when you're in the PhiIppines!). The native birds singing in the trees are lovely to wake up to in the morning. The common area/dining room is a great place to hang out and you never know who will stop by from the community to have a drink and share a chat (great for getting to know the people/area). The food is awesome! We tasted our way through the Filipino side of the menu during our 4 day stay and enjoyed it all. Favourites are definitely the Bicol Express and the Katsudon. The staff are all nice and helpful and it's a very chill vibe all around. The staff are there if you need something but are happy to just hang out and chat as well. The owners (Luke & Danika) are great hosts and super knowledgeable on the area. They will always help you book something or just give you advice if that's all you need. They are great at anticipating your needs and Luke went ahead and organized a complimentary boat pick-up daily from the backpackers to the diving school for me even though I did not ask. They will also make you packed lunch to-go for the day if you need it. They have a dog (Buddy) and a cat (Cat) who make it feel homey and who love to get pets and cuddles. Internet connection is good but only available outside, up near the office which is kind of nice at keeping everyone from looking at their phones all the time. I would stay here again but maybe look into renting one of their more deluxe rooms on the other side of the property that overlook the bay and have their own kitchen and bath facilities (on Air B&B). Thank-you to everyone at the backpackers and we miss you all already!…
Yet close enough to what you need. For diving shipwrecks this place is perfect, close to diveshops and lot closer to the wrecks than living in Coron so you will save a lot of time living here. Staff is very friendly, sittning up and have a chat with you at the night, sharing a few drinks. Food is very good, their specials are regional known
We stayed almost a week at Luke's Backpackers and we loved it. While we were staying in the normal double room which was simple but very nice and cozy, our friends stayed at the Bahay Kubo on the other side of the hill. This hut is a blast! You get an awesome view, a nice terrace and comfy beds. The food is great and the staff easily can adopt the food to your wishes. They also know everything about the island and can definitely help you with everything. Also don't miss out to try their homemade Jungle Juice. Overall the staff is very nice and we had some nice evenings with Luke. We will come back one day ❤️
Stayed here with my friends and we all had an amazing time. At the hostel all the staff is super helpful specially the cooks (food is amazing and well priced). Plenty of beer, laughs and a good time. Luke helped us booking all our day trips and gave us really good advice to avoid the crowds!!! Also close to Concepcion and scooter rental. The location is far from Coron but that is really nice as Coron is hectic plus you can easily rent scooter and zoom everywhere you want easily. If you coming to Coron stay here!!!
The place is not on the crowded Coron so is limited when it comes to food or party. Always good to rent a motorbike. Cabins were two together so not much privacy. No beach but a few nice ones reachable within one hour by bike plus waterfalls. The best was the atmosphere, the crew that helps a lot organizing adventures and these ones were great.
We stayed in the Bahay Kubo bamboo house at Busuanga Backpackers which was a beautiful accommodation with an amazing view of the bay and private veranda including a hammock. This is a completely separate and private space...just you and the surrounding nature. On arrival the staff were great in familiarising us with everything and quickly cooked us some tasty food as well. It is a well thought out set-up, with walkie talkies to get in touch with the kitchen and friendly service direct to room. The staff are also well networked to the local community meaning their ability to organise trips and transfers is second to none. Overall a unique experience and a really nice location on Busuanga - definitely worth going out of the way from Coron town to experience this area.
The staff and the owners are superb and very friendly, funny and mega helpful organising trips and diving etc and with general travel help! Simple and very comfy accommodation. Great vibe around the place attracting super friendly guests. Really easy to get to from Coron city and far enough to be away from the hustle and bustle of the busy city. A very relaxing but fun stay with some awesome diving of nearby wrecks to fill our days and meeting awesome people over delicious food and beers in the evening! Loads of non-diving day trips to do but we ran out of time. Tip: Ask Luke about getting the boat over to Al Faro for a dinner treat, swimming pool and stunning sunset views. Do yourself a favour and stay here for a memorable backpacking experience!
After the noise of Coron town I wanted to stay somewhere more chilled for a bit & this place is perfect. It’s a 40 min van ride (P150) from town in the hills. You can arrange boat tours from here if you want or go to nearby Concepcion. The rooms are basic but comfortable and the food is the best I’ve eaten in weeks. Seriously, just go for the food!!
