After a fantastic day of motor biking heaven travelling through the Pyrenees we booked into this Hosteria. What a way to finish off a great trip. The staff were all extremely friendly and helpful, The premises are fantastic with an almost alpine feel. The one thing that truly stands out though was the breakfast that was presented by the owner ( I think) and he was so obviously proud of the local high quality produce put before us, explaining where everything was produced , that you knew here you had a man that cared about his business. Bravo!

I can't say enough wonderful things about this place. We first stopped in during our honeymoon in 1993 and have tried to get back every-so-often for the past 3 decades. Elias is a most gracious host and will do everything in his power to make your stay an enjoyable one. The food is some of the best in the area and you can be absolutely certain of a wonderful culinary experience before and/or after your outdoor adventures in the Vall d'Aran or up in Bagneres de Luchon.

We were welcomed by a very friendly host. He made cute jokes about my friends name. The room was very clean. The bathroom was spotless. I recommend this hotel to all the travelers because of the huge breakfast!!! I am intolerant to gluten so it is not easy to eat outside but in this hotel I had special bread and crackers without gluten. That was so thoughtful!!! Pastry, all sort of bread, coffee, tea, fruit juice, omelet, fruit, cheese, you name it and it was there!!! We are going back there because of the environment, the friendly hosts and the breakfast and that for a very reasonable price!!!!

We loved our stay here. The owner was incredibly welcoming and made sure we all had a pleasant stay. The rooms are clean, comfortable and quiet, with views over the charming town. The location is perfect — we were able to walk everywhere! Lovely breakfast too.

We stayed for a few nights in July 2015 at the Hosteria Catalana before hiking in the Pyrenees with a group of Icelandic hikers. The hotel is situated in Bossost, a small village in the North of Spain. the hotel is built in the traditional style of the region and is situated at the end of a small, calm street. The atmosphere was both relaxed and pleasant and the host and his staff most helpful and informative. We must higligt that the breakfast is the very best we ever had in a hotel, a varied choice of food of excellent quality from the neighborhood and some of it homemade. We also had en exquisite dinner. The host turned out to be a connoisseur of fine food and vine. We highly recommend Hosteria Catalana.

The welcome to this hotel was really personal and helpful. The room was adequate but the 2* rating is the best it could achieve . However the breakfast was probably the best we have ever had anywhere in Spain or France. It was very quiet but we were the only guests!!

We are a group of 10 cyclists and made Hotel Catalana our base for 3 day-trips through the Spanish and French Pyrenees in September 2013. Ideal if you’d like to climb mountains like the Col du Menté, Aspet, Superbagnières, Peyresourde, Portillon etc.. Bossòst is a lively village with dozens of little shops selling local produce, several small supermarkets and plenty of (tapas) bars. The rooms in the hotel are basic, the bathrooms are new and supplied with fresh towels every day. The breakfast was plentiful, fresh ham and eggs were prepared for those who desired. The restaurant was in transition, meaning that the hotel owner temporarily had to handle operations of the kitchen himself (with an aide) as well. This was executed very well, local produce was used and local wines were generously served. The owner spoke French very well which made the communication quite easy. Our bikes could be stored in a garage, which was locked at night. The owner also has good knowledge of the Spanish mountains, which came in handy when we had to alter our plans on day one. We had a very pleasant stay.

Second stay at this hotel this year, which must say something in its favour. This time we were travelling with friends, who had a room at the front of the hotel while our room was at the back, still with a view up the mountain behind. Unfortunately our room was a bit smelly, possibly due to cleaning products though whatever the cause it was not pleasant. This did improve once we opened the windows for a while. The other problem with the room we had was that we were woken at about 2.30am by the staff arriving at the bakery in the street outside. They then played music on the radio throughout the night making nigh impossible to get back to sleep. Once this stopped vans arrived about 5am to start collecting the bread for delivery. As a result, I did not feel particularly well rested for the 6 hour drive south. Still, breakfast at this hotel is a veritable feast and surely the scrambled eggs and bacon must rate among the best in Spain. I mentioned slight communication problems in my last review but I should have tried my basic French as that broke down that barrier. There was aso a very nice man, who I assumed was the owner, who spoke good English. I will return to this hotel again but will make sure I ask for a room at the front of the hotel, away from the music-loving bakers of Bossost!

Having stayed in Bossost 10 years ago with friends we enjoyed the village so much so decieded to make this a stop off point on our way to mid Spain the hotel is warm and welcoming and our host was just as welcoming and very helpful regarding the area, Rooms very comfortable, Breakfast was a feast, it made it very disappointing that the restaurant was not open for dinner, but a good restaurant was recommended, car parking on the doorstep, all in all a good hotel
