The name means beautiful island. Been to this little family-owned island three times so far - because it is so expensive to go there. My hubby said that Isla Naburot is not a place to read a book...but rather, it is a place where you can write your book. It is quiet, secluded and private. Its lack of electricity adds to the romanticism of the place - which is very evident at night. The whole island is lighted with candles and lanterns...hello honeymooners and old couples wishing to re-ignite forgotten sparks. This is one holiday place where one can truly relax - leave your 21st century gadgets behind...reconnect with yourself and your loved ones with the old-fashioned face-to-face interaction. Another thing that you should leave behind is your diet. Ladies, forget, for at least 3 days, your diet because Isla boasts of 5-star homecooked, hot meals - breakfast, mid-morning snack, lunch, afternoon snack, dinner. Isla Naburot, though, does not advertise because the family wants to preserve the "uncommercial" feel of their jewel of an island. I suggest that you google "isla naburot" and articles about the island will pop on your browser...the best one is <whoridesavespa.com/2006/11/18/destination-isla-naburot> complete with photos and contact numbers.

Been here 3 times already with friends and family. Never get tired of the place. No internet or electricity but they do have solar panels for lighting at night. A perfect spot to relax. The food was really GREAT. We had the whole island to ourselves, it was really rejuvenating. Quite expensive for budget travelers, though.

It's a very rare opportunity to experience a place like Isla Naburot. It's raw, peaceful and beautiful. It's like back to the basic and it's so much better. Very private place away from it all! Food was excellent too!

Isla Naburot is a pretty special place, a drive and a boat ride away from the non-touristic aiport of Iloilo. The resort is set on a tiny island just off the coast from Guimaras Island. It is comprised of several bungalows with great views over the water... the decoration is pretty and the place is really stunning... a perfect place to unwind. This is however not a typical luxury resort, no internet there and the rooms are pretty basic... but other than that everything else is luxury especially the welcome of the hosts. Last but not least, especially for the Philippines, the food is absolutely delicious and an experience in itself, we were impressed!
All this comes at a price, it's pretty expensive.

Naburot Island is a sight to behold. If you just want to relax, meditate, write a book, be one w/ nature and good food, this is the place to be. An eco-friendly hide away, a haven for rich marine life. They serve the freshest of the fresh catch of the day, fresh veggies, fruits especially the world famous Guimaras mangoes. The owners were very welcoming and made us feel at home. They themselves help in serving the food, asking us if the food is ok or if we had a good night sleep. We enjoyed the island hopping, especially at the sandbar (another property they owned) and the cave where they have their own mini underground river. Thank you so much to our host Mr. Tony Araneta, his wife Teresa and her sisters Tina and Isa for taking care of us while at the Island.

The natural beauty of Isla Naburot is showcased here at this eco-friendly resort. While I hoped for the exquisite beach and the gorgeous vegetation, I didn't expect that both would be rivaled by the outstanding gourmet meals. The heart and sole of the island is a lovely, gentle woman by the name of "Isa" who's passion is making your experience perfect. She succeeded- our visit to Naburot was amazing.

We booked our "Valentine"s Day" weekend in Isla Naburot. It was a back to basic island life experience. There was no electricity but you don't need it since each cottages has huge windows. Open rain-shower! The package that we got comes breakfast, lunch and dinner. The island chef/cook will ring the bell if the meal is ready. They serve great and delicious Ilonggo dishes. We were worried about the serving size when we booked the package but we're so surprised when we had our first Lunch, It was good for a family of 4-6. We love to eat but we can't finish everything! Foodie haven especially with the best mango in the world. Guimaras mangoes are the best! It was unforgettable and the best vacation we ever had. Great service! Excellent food! Amazing island experience!

If you like the simplicity of an island vacation, this is it! There is no electricity but they installed solar panels which can power some lights and a fan. I have been coming here in the last 15 years and the family who owns it has kept it the same. Food is awesome - fishermen deliver freshly-catch seafood and everything is cooked in wood & charcoal fire. They bake their own bread too! Feel close to nature, go back to basics, leave all your devices at home and just be quiet at Isla Naburot!

This was an amazing experience that I will never forget. The moment you get to the island you feel the peace of simple living in beautiful surroundings. The rooms are open to the air with fine nets over the bed so you immediately feel close to nature and awed by the beauty of everything. The food is hands down the best in the Philippines. It was astounding what they could create with only fresh ingredients and fire. It is my ideal world to spend the morning relaxing to the smell of cooking. There is also snorkelling and caves and boats to explore. What made everything just perfect was our host, one of the family members that owns the resort. She made us feel like we were being welcomed to their home. We loved chatting with her and her husband and loved the whole experience. Thanks so much.

If you are looking for a total relaxation place with no wifi, great food, friendly people then this is the place! Me and my wife stayed there for 5 days and loved it.
The staff/owners are totally amazing. You feel like you are at home with your best friends.
